Destination Thailand Visa Sparks Interest, Faces Future Hurdles
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
So immigration officers at airports etc are above the set government rules of different visas ??? They can ask for additional documents that are not required by Thai law ?? What sort of rubbish is this ?? -
Is it safe to wear a Rolex around Bangkok??
geisha replied to Mekmong MICK's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You shouldn’t really be asking this question. No one is safe with anything real in all of Thailand. You could get badly hurt. When I’m traveling generally I leave my jewelry in the bank. You wouldn’t be safe in Cannes or Nice either if it comes to that! As for bars, that would be the first thing a girl would see, not you. -
Chinese man calls Thai women prostitutes sparking online outrage
geisha replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
And ??? It was like that around the world and Europe too until the 20 th century. 6 and 7 year old children worked like slaves, down the mines also , I Africa they still do. Kids in London and US were lucky if they had shoes on their feet or a coat on their back, and stale bread to eat. So your comparison is not right at all. We all know there’s prostitution in Thailand, and many other countries. Doesn’t mean that all females are prostitutes or all men lady boys ., Ridiculous . -
Polish Passenger Threatens to Bomb Plane Mid-air on Flight to Bangkok
geisha replied to Georgealbert's topic in Bangkok News
Well I for one am very glad that the flight captain has taken this further and made a complaint !! whatever she said, I don’t care. She should be banned from flying and a court / large fine whatever. Imagine those idiots out there think they can do this and get away with it !!! Publish it, let it be known. -
Air conditioning is effecting my sleep
geisha replied to DonniePeverley's topic in Health and Medicine
I’ve always slept with a good quality fan about 5/6 meters from my bed . Not on high ! The better quality nones are very quiet. Get used to pointing it in exactly the direction you need it ( not towards your head!) . I sleep perfectly all night. (The worse is the air cons that have dirty filters, wash them . And don’t sleep under them. Your bed should be as far away as possible from the air on. ) -
So where are these illegal immigrants coming from ?? Are they the ones who were employed by the construction sites and then abandoned when the work stopped ?? From where, Burma and Cambodia I suppose. Many of the day workers sleep on the streets. We found one on the emergency stair exit in our building on Thepprasit. She and husband had a baby. The Thai lady opposite me and myself found them and helped. Sad situation. By the way, the street sweepers in Jomtien can often be found sleeping on the prom at night. Breaks my heart.

Thailand’s Business Ease Ranking Plummets in Asia-Pacific: Survey
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It didn’t start with the new prime minister, Thailand has always been an economic and morality backward country. Due to the success of its tourist numbers, in my opinion, their politics will get worse and worse. Greed comes to mind , and who cares about Thailands poor , none of them. -

Big Joke Faces Asset Seizure in Online Gambling Case

I think that IF there was any illegal money in the first place, it would have been long gone. You don’t leave evidence lying around unless you’re stupid. And he’s not stupid. -
Any restaurants serving brown rice?
geisha replied to AsiaTraveler1234's topic in Health and Medicine
Try the black rice cooked in coconut milk / cream, delicious. I buy the brown rice in 7/11 and buy a takeaway main course and eat at home., -
Thank you all. View Talay 6 is a good option. The problem often is that some studios are kept nicely and recently upgraded where some are really old looking. The same with all the other View Talays. A friend rented a great place in Jomtien, and someone else had a horrible ancient sorry looking one . Im wondering if there are any agencies that can help ? I knew someone from Axiom who was very nice , a good few years back. If I was there at the moment I could visit myself.

Hi, I have a friend coming to Thailand in January for one month. I stay in Jomtien but he prefers being closer to the malls and good choice of restaurants. Previously , he’s often vacationed in Phuket over the years but fed up of the endless rain , crowds , and’ certain nationalities. He needs a nice quality studio and good sunny pool , security, and not in a high rise .up to 12 floors ok. not interested in ladies or men. I visited City Garden when it was built. Considered renting but preferred Jomtien around soi 9. I remember that the pool looked very small ?? Any ideas welcome, Central Festival and Term 21 in easy reach. Good pool as he swims a lot, quality Studio , English TV channels / Netflix , Security, not bothered by great view from studio. Around 40 000, Baht month which is what he was paying in Phuket., Thanks +++

Behind the Avenue? The Mercure there was always full of Indians and very noisy too. I stayed there a week waiting for my condo rental to become free. It was quite nice except their clients.,

Foreign Owned Restauraunts in Thailand
geisha replied to IsaanExpat's topic in SME Business in Thailand
Agree, I’ve had 3 restaurants for 40 years in France. Its damned hard work but it pays. I know a few good chefs who have had restaurants in Thailand, it’s a nightmare, and little profit. -
Any one doing the OMAD diet ( One Meal a Day )
geisha replied to MrScratch's topic in I'm Too Fat Forum
I have a late healthy breakfast , eggs, fruit, cereals , I take my time. Yogurts or Greek yogurt at 17h . Early evening a good meal, no rubbish food. I rarely drink, I walk a lot and swim. But if I want to pig out on ice-cream or a cake, whatever, I do. Rarely tho. In Thai restaurants I tell them no sugar , they’re used to me now., -
Thailand issues four major announcements on new visa measures
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
True, and if it’s worth it off-shore banking. I know a lot of people doing this who don’t even own the car they drive, let alone the yacht, Villa etc. Plenty countries to choose from and not a name in sight. -

Divorced couple, legal father, mother dissappeared

See a lawyer as soon as possible.Get as much paper work and proof of abandonment. Go from there. Ask here for the best lawyer for your problem in the area where you are living. -
I doubt the very wealthy want to live in Thailand, and they know exactly what to do with their money.
-
The wealthy do not hang out in Thailand . The choice is large for everything they need, the Caribbean islands, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands. Caymans, UAE, Hong Kong, Belize. These islands have to offer what Thailand doesn’t, mega beautiful homes, yachting facilities ( lots of 100 meter yachts floating around ) health care and quality entertainment / restaurants/ designer worthy shopping. The people who have an extra 30 odd thousand $ handy for an elite visa in Thailand profit from nothing of the above. Probably handy for those still working coming in and out, or frequent visitors.. My niece worked on the yacht of a very wealthy man from Hong Kong. I visited the villa he had in Kamala Phuket, top design and inside waterfalls etc. He sold it after a few stays , didn’t like Thailand.

Phuket Named World’s Most Overcrowded Destination Amid Tourism Boom
geisha replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
I had best friends from home who ran a small hotel, beach and restaurant with the best French food you can find in Cambodia center beach side. They were there a long time , it was a great dusty little village. I went often. They were driven out and lost everything, the bulldozers moved in and crushed the whole village to the ground . The people lost everything, their homes , lives. Those that had no option stayed to work for the Chinese construct their casinos , hotels and night bars. Phuket is heading the same way .
