Thailand Aims to Increase Tourism with Paris Olympics Campaign

Carrefour agencies , in every town in France , cater to the cheap getaways , with prices flight and hotel u der the 1000€ mark. 10 days in which they spend on the beach, unless they have one of those awful tours that race you around Bangkok, Chiang Mai and some very quiet hotel on a beach far from anything . ( usually north Phuket ). Too late for summer hols now, and everyone knows the different in the seasons in Thailand. Currently here, South of France, we have a heat wave 39c, hotels are packed to the rafters. -
Three American Bully dogs maul 70-year-old man to death
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Are you for real ? I can think of many words to describe you but not accepted here. In my view, people who have these dogs should be fined , made to pay a huge compensation to the mourning family, or face 5 years in prison, and the dog put down of course. Time for Thailand and every country to ban these types of dogs. -

Bangkok Billboard Offering Foreign Passports for Sale Raises Concerns
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
What rubbish. First he wasn’t a buyer off the street and unknown. He lived mainly in Dubai. Many very wealthy people have different passports than they’re own due to buying costly properties and investments in those countries. I know a very well off property developer , British, who has also a residence and passport in Dubai. It’s always been like that. I’d never trust a billboard Chinese sale of passports for a measly amount of money ! Laughable. -
Bangkok Billboard Offering Foreign Passports for Sale Raises Concerns

I somehow doubt that Indonesian government would take kindly to this sale of their passports. Wonder where and who is running this offer. -
Australian Father Seeks Help to Find Missing Son in Phuket
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I was lucky years back in Phuket. I had a land line and fax, TV , video etc. I rented from a Thai American journalist . I could have had the car too but I was worried about the small roads and difficulties to park in Kata Beach. -
Bangkok Ranked 30th in Global Tourist Risk Index by Forbes Advisor
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
The article doesn’t make any sense at all. How can anyone state that Bangkok is in the top 30 dangerous, and at the end says that it comes second to Singapore which is first in safety ? -
Hi, took about 5 in all over 8 days. Just wasn’t worth the stomach upset.

Sheryl please, I had a really bad reaction to Tramadol 100. I really can’t take them. What can I ask for to really help without the side effects please ? I think I had paracetamol had something with paracetamol and codéine that worked . Can’t femme tho. I have L 5 S1 and sometimes feel as tho my right hip blocks which scanners say it doesn’t.

I had an awfully bad back 2 months ago. ( L5S1). While waiting for the cortisone injections rdv at the hospital , I asked my specialist for Tramadol to get me over the bad days. He gave me Tramadol 100. Wow, I was really sick after and felt terrible, but they certainly stopped the back pain !! I couldn’t use them . Were they too strong, why was I so ill after them ? i suffered with heating pads and paracetamol.

What city in Thailand has the best weather?
geisha replied to Rachel2023's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
I lived over 2 years in Hua Hin about 13Years ago. It was much better than Phuket weather wise. Cooler, often a nice breeze . My pool was often cold ! I moved because I got bored, not enough to do. Not enough shops. Apparently it’s much better now with more Malls and shop choice. Now staying in Jomtien which isn’t too bad weather wise. I stay from Nov to March, longstayer or snowbirds as we are called. -

Why do Thai women actually love foreign men?
geisha replied to Alpha84's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
All my ( love) life I’ve mainly been attracted to intelligence. I can’t imagine spending much time with someone I can’t talk to about all sorts of subjects. Lust doesn’t last long with me.My main 3 loves have been clever, active, and fun . -
Double Homicide Shocks Pattaya: Restaurant Owners Found Dead
geisha replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
But even if illegally working , which I don’t condone either, does it give the employer the right to underpay them, treat them like slaves, or beat them. Often, they have work permits but the employer would rather pay them under the table, as they know that the poor will accept. A lady I know who runs a successful restaurant told me years back that’s how it generally works. She has at least 6 foreigners working and they all earn the legal wage, the hours are respected, they mostly speak very good English and perfect Thai. And they actually turn up for work and don’t disappear into thin air for no feasible reason . When I lived in Phuket , my small condo building was run by Burmese , completely. owned by a Thai . I stayed there around 10 years and the staff were always the same. -
Thai PM Launches Project to Transform Thailand into Financial Hub
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
To attract investment a country has to have a very stable government, rules and regulations and a solid reputation. Does that sound like Thailand ? 13 successful coups d’état and 9 unsuccessful over a century. -
Expats angry at huge concessions in latest Thai visa announcements
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Well the senior IO doesn’t « tink too Mut » Even if you do a TM30 it doesn’t mean you can’t be on the other end of Thailand robbing and murdering does it. Or that a young mongering tourist in Hua Hin is out in Pattaya trying out all Soi 6. -
Bangkok Hotel Deaths: Vietnamese Guide Admits to Supplying Snake Poison
geisha replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Yes, and I doubt ten million Baht would build a hospital in Japan. Why would Vietnamese invest there,, or was it just a scam gone wrong.?? And what were they all doing in Thailand ? That’s what I hate about all these stories, we never know the ending . -
And it will be very good for snowbirds as myself, staying in Thailand through the EU / cold winters of home. This has been my MO for going on 40 years. There must be thousands of wealthy pensioners who spend their winters here, where I currently stay in Jomtien the owners/;renters are practically all staying 4/5 months. They have a mini bus that picks them up every morning to go golfing. Pensioners have more spending strength than a lot of tourists in general.
