  1. I pay 250 GBP a month in Bangkok, for a 50 sq/m condo, with a really nice pool and a decent gym (both of which are on the same floor as my condo unit). My building is a 3 min walk to a BTS stop on the Sukhumvit line, so I can be sitting in D'Ark at Emquartier within 20 mins or less
  2. I've been drinking from them for 16 years with no ill effects But it would depend on *which* machine, as they are not all maintained the same. I know the ones in my condo are regularly cleaned and serviced.
  3. I much prefer female IOs You can just smile at them and they get all giggly and let you in without even looking at your passport!
  4. I have the Xiaomi Mi Body Composition 2 Scale There is also a newer one https://www.mi.com/global/product/xiaomi-body-composition-scale-s400/ The smart watch I have the connects to the scale is from Amazfit, the specific model is out of date but the newer ones are better such as this one https://us.amazfit.com/products/amazfit-balance
  5. Excellent advice.
  6. I'm 57, 185cm & 67 kg BMI is 20.7 Fat 15.2% I have a flat stomach but still have a layer of annoying fat that hides my abs. I can feel them but can't see them. I look pretty good shirtless. I bet your body fat percentage is high, especially your visceral fat. Do you have a body composition scale and a fitness watch to track things?
  7. No. James Newman, the author, is British.
  8. So you think that a woman should cease all friendships she made with men as soon as she gets married? Go back to the stone age.
  9. Unfortunately not all brains are equal.

  11. An extension means you don't have the inconvenience of leaving the country.
  12. Thailand should be careful about these tax increases. In Norway they introduced a wealth tax. The wealth tax increase in Norway was expected to bring an additional $146M in yearly tax revenue Instead, an estimated $54B-worth of ultra-rich left the country, leading to a lost $594M in yearly wealth tax revenue A net decrease of $448M+ https://www.theguardian.com/world/2023/apr/10/super-rich-abandoning-norway-at-record-rate-as-wealth-tax-rises-slightly
  13. For anyone interested in All-on-4 tooth replacements, this ad appeared on Facebook.
  14. The Thai inland revenue has said they want to tax income people are making from crypto. So I think by "platform" they are referring to crypto exchanges outside Thailand. If you use a crypto platform and have registered your address as Thailand, then it might be a good idea to create new trading accounts using an address in another country.
  15. Or during the day seeing as the dengue mozzies are primarily active during daylight hours
  16. You might have picked the wrong people, but you didn't need to marry them and marrying the wrong type of person more than once shows a distinct lack of judgement. I wouldn't marry someone until I'd been in a relationship with them for at least a few years, which would be living with them to really know them. Sounds like you rushed into marriage every time.
  17. Sorry this happened to your daughter and I hope she'll be ok. Unfortunately this has been happening in schools everywhere for decades. I'm not defending the boys actions but this even happens in all girls schools and all boys schools. My sister went to an all girls public school and had girls tease her about her breasts and try pulling off her bra, I went to an all boys public school and saw some boys getting sexually ridiculed because they were developing faster and then later the same thing happened to the ones who developed slower. Puberty is a complex time for kids. The school needs to sit all the students (perhaps of a certain age) down and give them some education about puberty and what is and isn't acceptable now that they are all developing. I suspect however that sexual health topics are not taught very well, if at all.
  18. I went to very good schools and am considered quite smart. There is no way I could teach maths, physics, chemistry, geography, French, Spanish, Latin, economics or the woodworking, metalworking etc that I was taught at school. I still know a bit about all the things I was taught but nowhere near enough to teach a kid to the level required to pass O or A level exams. Also I had 9 different teachers at school, one for each subject.
  19. In that case I've seen a lot of sacred Farangs in Bangkok.
  20. Hahahahahahaha That is the funniest thing I've read in ages.
  21. I recently ceased being friends with someone I've known for around 25-30 years. Late 50's, similar upper middle class upbringing to me, public school education, very intelligent... now retired in Sri Lanka having married a French woman in HK, had two kids, moved to France, bought and renovated a few properties in a French Ski village. Got divorced, kids seems to hate him. Physically he's never been a very good looking bloke, always overweight, way too much dark body hair etc so I doubt he's had many sexual partners in his life. His wife was fugly to put it politely. He's not poor, and is building two villas on some beachfront land he bought in Sri Lanka.... Was an atheist, but a few years ago he started reading the bible and has now decided it's all true. Now claims that the moon is just a projection or a hologram, thinks the Earth is flat with a dome over it, thinks the sun and stars are just light bulbs in the dome. Doesn't believe humans built the Pyramids. Claims there was a huge mud flood which is why there are buildings with windows seemingly below street level. And of course uses the term "they" all the time to imply there is a secret Govt cabal that is constantly planning ways to make life hard for normal people. He believes so much utter nonsense that I told him we can no longer be friends and I've blocked him so he can't contact me.
