  1. True what your follow on statement made, but one that is not learned or followed by most tourist who rent motorbikes in Thailand is that 'driving a motorbike in thailand is not like your home country'. It is 3-4 times more dangerous on a motorbike in Thailand than in any western or Australian/New Zealand country. I wish the best for Lee, but on top of the insurance and promotion of it is the fact the motorcycles and car drivers are just plain crazy here. A foreigner on holiday should not be driving one.
  2. Hum, rated your comment as confusing. ...must have been high/stoned. Yes, I smoked some. Usually to little or zero effect, but then I didn't like the hot smoke. And then... one time in Adelaide I tried it with a neighbor and spent the night wrapped around my bedpost in a panic attack (or something). I was 'wired' and I've never touch any since. It is especially bad for anyone under the age of 25 while their brain in still developing. I am happy for you to enjoy your '<deleted>', but it's just like cigarettes. There's always a smell and a mess (ash, dust, bits of plant and settled smoke)..
  3. I would like for these two activities to become addictive, but I'm no longer a early morning person, which is when both of these activities should be engaged. Plus, I've now been 16 years on the artificial knee and 15 years on an artificial knee. I quit playing golf about 6 years ago because I needed to make them last. I miss work. I was Supervisor and Superintendent in the petroleum business and was forced into retirement. We (wife and I) were not ready to retire (ie: caught me with my finances down) and son ready to finish high school and go to college. Retirement sucks.
  4. Aw, but I look for the video where they are mucking about in the sewer unplugging the lines or out on an offshore work boat catching loads in 6 ft seas (or just a riding out the high seas waiting until the sea is calm enough to work the deck). Let's pull up some of the Mike Rowe shows of "Dirty Jobs" and see them lining up to do that. (BTW, I saw just in the past couple of weeks where 3 or 4 farang ladies couldn't even get the handcuffs on a 'suspect' and he broke free).
  5. Can't wait to see the female 'stars'. 😁😂🤣
  6. It's long overdue to be 'lifted'. It was a silly rule that Taksin implemented. It was stupid then and even more stupid to have stayed on the books this long.
  7. So surprised to see you comment on this. (All nationalities are suspect)
  8. Not just you, Khun Crossy. I tried to find the method to return a couple of months ago. It was the first time I've ever tried (BTW it was on my computer). I finally figured out the way to do it, but I was a day too late to return the item. (Was the path always there???) 😂🤣
  9. Definitely not Big C or Lotus. You've many good suggestions above. Have fun and Congratulations. I hope you both have a long and fulfilling marriage. Best Wishes.
  10. El Gaucho also has a restaurant in Phuket. I've never eaten there... I'm sure the quality is good, but preparation and cooking have a whole lot to do with the steak, too. Plus: buying from a restaurant is going to be extremely expensive... Something that doesn't appear to be a problem (reading between the lines, obviously)
  11. More tax and cost increases for your electricity.
  12. There are a number of places around the world that could stake a claim on that name.
  13. Cute... Ya got to understand there are some (a lot of) very proud Thai people who do not like Thailand's negative (to them and all those European, Australian and US journalist) reputation. Of course they're going to protest. But honestly... it's a good laugh. (and cute).
  14. @RowdymanYes, it is available in Thailand as Chotalin 25 mg. My pharmacist informed me; however, he does not stock it. I guess you'll have to try some of the other suggestions, but at least I can confirm it's available.
  15. They are 'now'. But I remember a time (more than a few) back in 2006-2012+/- when 'they' were not so nice. (Although I was not applying for Marriage or Retirement extensions). It was particularly one time before 2010, after visiting there that my wife turned to me and informed me she would NEVER go back there again. (They had for a number of years a particularly unfriendly person who received all the applicants paperwork, shuffled through it and gave you your 'number'. She was never pleasant)
  16. Just offer the MIL a few thousand per month to iron her husband's clothes. End of story.
  17. Yeah... but at least they don't have to get it up...
  18. I asked the same question within the last year (or so) and was advised by Ubonjoe (may he RIP) that I should go to Ban Laem-Kamrieng crossing. It adds a few extra KMs to the journey, but I had no problems there. I found it much cheaper and safer to fly to KL on AirAsia, which is what I did the next 'hop'.
  19. Where is the crying emoji when you need one. Sad, just isn't appropriate.

    VISA RUN

Yep. That's a very good deal leaving from Pattaya.
  21. @2liveandthai2050 It's a pity that you are incapacitated. I would tell you to get on a plane out and back in before the Visa expires so that you could get another 90 days and then extend that permit to stay for another 60 days. (get 240 days out of one 90 day Visa).
  22. You must have gone to a different church than I did. The Bible strongly suggests Joseph was a fairly young man. - In an effort to support their belief that Mary remained a virgin after Jesus’ birth because Joseph was too old to have relations with her. However, there are indications in the Bible’s account involving Joseph that he was not an old man as some claim, consider the following: 1. After Jesus was born Mary and Joseph had at least 6 more children.* 2. After Jesus was born Herod tried to have him killed so an angel warned Joseph to take the child and his mother down into Egypt, a long journey on foot and later back again, a trip requiring considerable strength for a man to make. 3. Joseph taught Jesus the skill of carpentry which was done by hand requiring considerable strength. 4. Israelite males were required to travel to Jerusalem three time a year and the scriptures show Joseph was strong enough to make that trip when Jesus was 12 years old. The trip would have required walking for perhaps 4 days up from Nazareth to Jerusalem, 91 miles climbing around 1400 ft. in elevation.
