only other option i have thought is put a timer switch on the power cable going to AC many AC will resume after power loss

i need this not needing any new functions just want to set it so i dont have to pick up the remotes EVERYDAY something so simple, it is baffling why none have this as i am on off grid solar i would also like to program the fans too to adjust throughout the day basically full fan during peak sunlight hours, then back to auto or night mode

you can get NVME cards that have 5 sata ports then you have PCIe cards that take 4 of those cards giving you 20 sata over X16 you can also get 20 SATA port X1 cards obviously you are limited by 1 lane but for what they are used for this is usually fine but do be warned these cards don't play nice with others, 1 card is usually fine also have another X16 that has 20/24 ports if you can find them The price on these cards have rocketed lately you can hunt or wait and find them cheaper Lazada/shopee probably not the best places to look TBH

i use 2 x coolermaster MC500 cases which i also add a 5 HDD rack inside for 15 drives total but they are not available anymore phanteks seem the only option currently

i do still use cases, i have 3 rigs in cases which are not pretty at all, no lights nothing but one misconception though is dust, you do not get dust build up with open air rigs even if you did it can be quickly blown out easily the 2 smaller rigs are pretty for a reason, they dont have to be pretty, they can look like the very quiet fanless budget one

you can get PCIe cards to add upto 20 sata ports (see my hdd rack pic above, 2 cards) but yes cases (and latest motherboards) are not so accomodating FYI, phanteks currently have modular cases that can take 10 HDD (or can add a 2nd itx motherboard)

yeh SMR drives are pooh Thats why you see Pro drives being used???? the blue and yellow rig has 2 portable drives on the back they take an age to fill as SMR (as most externals are) be sure to check if drive is CMR or SMR most pro/enterprise drives are CMR there was the issue with WD Reds, where they switched from CMR to SMR this was cleared up with red plus to avoid confusion i use WD ultrastar or toshiba mostly buy the pro/enterprise drives for the 5 year warranty as well as performance toshiba are best value atm, they seem to have stopped their pro versions and just have enterprise now

just to add those small boards in my pics each cost roughly 1000 baht including CPU the pink board was old and used, but the other 2 rigs are using new board/CPU the smallest rig is real budget the board/cpu was 850 baht, with 200w PSU for 200 baht and 1 old stick of DDR3 ram i had and a USB stick which i am running windows on plus the 2 x 6TB HDD of course which i got cheap at 3200 baht each FYI the difference on CCTV drives to others is the read/write speed is heavily throttled as soon as the drive starts to get hot

unpopular as in very few seeds or lesser known stuff not everything has a big marketing budget lots of great stuff goes under the radar for most people dead mans shoes just for an example
