  1. Where should they be put then? With the recent Ukraine example, many individuals accommodated them privately, but those were exceptional circumstances.
  2. You omitted this bit: "taking part of their earnings in return"
  3. A little bit of reading might enlighten you: https://www.unhcr.org/th/en/unhcr-in-thailand
  4. The barfine is just to release the girl from her bar duties. She charges the client for the sex and none of that goes to the bar manager.
  5. Not really. A pimp takes a cut of his girl's money; a soi 6 manager's role ends once the girl is in the room with her customer.
  6. Not really sure that's accurate as they don't control the girls. Nevertheless a good manager will help the girls make more money.
  7. Maybe this should be moved to the Pattaya Forum as it seems to only relate to Jomtien Immigration.
  8. It has better food, TVs and alcohol, and there are no bars on the door.
  9. Yes, I'm resident in Rayong. When I renewed my 5-year licence 4 years ago (then in Bangkok) a medical certificate was not required. Has the policy changed since Covid?
  10. Surely you're paying for the masseur's time, not the actual time of the massage.
  11. Thanks for the report. I'll be using Rayong for the first time when my 5-year licence expires. Were you renewing a 5-year licence? Was it straightforward to get the Certificate of Residence from Rayong Immigration? Is a medical certificate needed for renewing a 5-year licence? What is DLT Online testing and is this required if you're renewing a 5-year licence? Cheers
  12. It won't be a surprise to see the expected names like Prince Andrew and Bill Clinton; but it will be interesting if Trump features heavily!
  13. Pattaya's great for girls (or boys or ladyboys) and fun, and the beach/sea has improved a lot. What's not to like?
  14. Presumably you will be fully compensated by Jetstar? Not really Immigration's fault.
  15. Thanks for posting. I look foward to @Tony M or @theoldgit comments. It does seem unfair that if you have demonstrated that you, as her sponsor, have the funds to support her for the duration of her visit (3 months 29 days) why her income is relevant.
  16. It seems a little strange that, although I've seen the savings option mentioned, the new amount doesn't seem to have been announced.
  17. If the salary threshold is increased to nearly £38,000 that will have already been achieved.
  18. No, it's for foreign spouses/dependants.
  19. A welcome change of mind: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/dec/21/home-office-reduces-earning-threshold-hike-for-family-visa
  20. As @Tony M suggests, can we see the redacted refusal notice? It might be very useful to other BMs in a similar position.
  21. The Tories are backtracking: https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/dec/21/home-office-reduces-earning-threshold-hike-for-family-visa
  22. Where are all the death penalty advocates? Hmmm.
