Trump Booed at Arizona Rally Over His New Endorsement
Bkk Brian replied to Scott's topic in World News
You may want to see the post I was responding to and why this was relevant: Donald Trump’s six-month approval rating lowest of any US president in 70 years Historically, it has usually taken American presidents months, if not years, to reach a majority disapproval rating. https://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/donald-trumps-sixmonth-approval-rating-lowest-of-any-us-president-in-70-years/news-story/13deaf0261b45196e2c3b571854b1397 -

I'm not diminishing these variants in anyway but is this a joke? The Daily Mail article is over a year old and is relating to Terminal 3 being a dedicated Red List Terminal. The UK did away with all covid red lists back in Dec last year. Terminal 3 is in normal operation and has been for months. The article was published on 1st June 2021 and then updated for an amendment on the 29th July 2022, all they did was remove a reference to India in the sub headline which is now no longer there but was in the original. You can view the original archive here https://web.archive.org/web/20210601063710/https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9639105/Heathrow-T3-opens-dedicated-red-list-terminal-TODAY.html Here's a screenshot of the India reference which is no longer in the updated article:

Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
Bkk Brian replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Yes terrible, Ukraine wants a full investigation into this but we all know its in occupied territory so its not going to happen: Ukraine war: UN and Red Cross should investigate prison deaths, says Ukraine Ukraine has called for the United Nations and the Red Cross to be allowed to investigate the deaths of more than 50 Ukrainian prisoners of war (POWs) in an attack in occupied territory. The Red Cross said it is seeking access to the prison in order to help with evacuating and treating the wounded. Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of attacking the camp. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-62356211 -
Assault on Kiev: Russian helicopters swoop above Ukraine's capital
Bkk Brian replied to Chris.B's topic in The War in Ukraine
Not sure if anyone's seen the graphic video of the torture and execution of a Ukrainian soldier that was doing the rounds today but it was aweful. I caught it before it was deleted on twitter, once you've watched it you can't unwatch it. The Russian soldier was identified as he had been filmed in a previous promotional video uploaded by R.T. when Russia took control of Severodonetsk. Can't share the links to twitter or other sources as they are not verified accounts but its still possible to view all videos but I do not advice it. Once the torture was over they executed him and barbarically disposed of his body. Footage appears to show Ukrainian prisoner of war being castrated by Russian soldiers The video, which was taken off Twitter after being shared by a Ukrainian MP, reportedly shows men in Russian camouflage outfits pinning a man down before using a box cutter to remove his genitals. https://news.sky.com/story/footage-appears-to-show-ukrainian-prisoner-of-war-being-castrated-by-russian-soldiers-12661176 The yahoo article does have one of the video's but obviously heavily censored. Horrifying footage appears to show Russian captors castrating a Ukrainian prisoner of war The victim in the video wears Ukrainian-style camouflage fatigues and is shown gagged, his hands tied behind his back. He lies helpless on the floor as the man in a Russian uniform, which features a “Z” patch, uses a box cutter to cut off his clothes and then appears to castrate him while shouting degrading insults in Russian. At least two other men who appear to be Russian soldiers can be seen in the video. While it is unclear when the video was filmed, what appears to be the same man wearing the black fringed hat also appeared in a June broadcast by the Russian state-backed media outlet RT. https://news.yahoo.com/horrifying-footage-appears-to-show-russian-captors-castrating-a-ukrainian-prisoner-of-war-221414554.html -

Not that it makes one jot of difference to the Russians or their supporters what the legal definitions are. -
Let me add a link to that and tell you why it is irrelevant: "The Act does not prevent the Army National Guard or the Air National Guard under state authority from acting in a law enforcement capacity within its home state or in an adjacent state if invited by that state's governor." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Posse_Comitatus_Act

I know Russia was celebrating the resignation of Boris, looks like that was just a little premature............. 'Ukraine's greatest friend,' UK's Truss pledges more support for Kyiv Truss, who as foreign minister has overseen imposing sanctions on those closest to Russian President Vladimir Putin, said she would work with allies to provide more weapons and humanitarian aid to Ukraine. "As prime minister I will be Ukraine's greatest friend - following in the footsteps of Boris Johnson - and commit completely to ensuring Putin fails in Ukraine and suffers a strategic defeat, and that Russia is constrained in the future," she said in a statement. https://www.reuters.com/world/uk/ukraines-greatest-friend-uks-truss-pledges-more-support-kyiv-2022-07-28/ -

Thailand has a fake news center, that does not mean it spreads fake news.............well in theroy....lol Connecticut in the US is also hiring a misinformation specialist but not to spread misinformation, its to combat it. That's what a misinformation specialist does so stop with the nonsense. These are not mercenaries, info on them is very clear. -
The director-general expects the review to be completed within the next week after Dr Kiatiphum Wongrajit, the ministry’s permanent secretary, has considered the matter and Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul signs the order. Police will not arrest offenders any time soon except for people who sell “rolled” cannabis on the street, as the ministry is already trying to control recreational use of the plant, Yongyot added. https://www.nationthailand.com/in-focus/40018245

Another one found in Bangkok: Thailand confirmed a second local case of monkeypox infection, the Ministry of Public Health said Thursday. . The patient is a 47-year-old Thai male who has been admitted to a hospital in Bangkok after experiencing fever and rashes appearing on his body. According to officials, the man had a sexual relationship with foreign male and had no travel history outside Bangkok. The case has no apparent link with the country's first monkeypox patient. Ten people who shared close contact have been asked to self-isolate for 21 days. https://twitter.com/KhaosodEnglish/status/1552616342632935429

Not surprising they are looking for specialists to help combat, fight and expose the amount of rubbish disinformation being spewed out by Russia, would you like some of the many examples? Canadian Government also does some of this: Countering disinformation with facts - Russian invasion of Ukraine https://www.international.gc.ca/world-monde/issues_development-enjeux_developpement/response_conflict-reponse_conflits/crisis-crises/ukraine-fact-fait.aspx?lang=eng -
Have a friend who built himself a large western/thai style house on a few rai out in the sticks somewhere near Korat a few years ago. Fence and wall all around but no other security not even cctv. He and his Thai wife also got robbed with a couple of guys coming in. They got tied up on the bed while they robbed the house, no guns involved in this though. Extremely traumatic for them of course and they were not sure whether to sell up or remain, they decided to remain but got themselves a couple of Doberman Pinschers. Never had a problem since and both very happy again.

Canada says Pope's apology for abuses at Catholic residential schools not enough The government's criticisms echo those of some survivors and concern Francis' omission of any reference to the sexual abuse suffered by Indigenous children in the schools, as well as his original reluctance to name the Catholic Church as an institution bearing responsibility. https://www.france24.com/en/americas/20220728-canada-says-pope-s-apology-for-abuses-at-catholic-residential-schools-not-enough?ref=tw_i
