This is an initial shutdown period to monitor the affects... infection numbers will be scrutinised in those areas to see if it is working.

Most say Bkk is closed with nothing to do, they refuse to sit at their accommodation so are heading to family far away in the hope of some normality.
Expect the numbers to surge more in a week or two!

Don't think so ...No, but the government could cut back the multi billion baht defense budget, instead of buying useless hardware and submarines, paying hundreds if not thousands of commanders/generals, cut the conscripted soldiers level in half and god know what else, they could offer free testing everywhere, free medical treatment and help the unemployed.

Too late, someone I know working in Bangkok headed back to Roi-Et today... she said the bus station was packed with people going home around the country. Most quoted, "stay in Bkk for what, everything's closed and nothing to do".

Unfortunately "self isolation" is not fully understood by many.
Self=alone
isolation= away from others.
They will go home and share everything with the family, sitting areas, meal times, bathroom facilities, even sleeping areas.
The parents and siblings will then continue to live as normal, going outside, shopping, working socialising.. spreading the virus further.
