Are you "all in" in your relationship?
BangkokReady replied to sidjameson's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
That's nice to hear. So many relationships back home seem to be the man is focussed on looking after the woman, while the woman is focussed on looking after herself (or even making the man miserable). -
Are you "all in" in your relationship?

Why did he have to sell everything? You don't pay for medical care in England. You have to pay for carers, but he gave up work? How did he end up spending the value of a house, a business, and life savings? And what was he doing while the carers he paid for were caring for his wife? Was his wife sick for many years and he just sat around watching the carers look after her? A lot of holes in this story... -
Are you "all in" in your relationship?

I don't believe that people who hold back or who plan their life in a "they'll probably leave me so I need to be prepared for that" way end up in happy relationships. -
What's going on with Dave Bautista?
BangkokReady replied to FriscoKid's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
What a lot of oddly angry responses there are to this topic. As if by just bringing it up the OP has somehow smeared every user and suggested that they are Dave Bautista's biggest fans, and they need to angrily state that they have no idea who he is in order to clear their names. I was a little puzzled by the recent image change. It was reported that he wanted to slim down in order to get more serious movie roles, but that does seem a little strange, since he now looks so weird. I'm not sure what roles he's after. Some have speculated on health issues, others that he just doesn't want to take steroids anymore, which might be true. The recent outing in what looks like women's clothing does ask a few questions. Perhaps he's getting comfortable in Hollywood and "finding himself" a little? -
Nah. If someone is considered a loser because they have a low paying job, but they go to a country where their job does not seem low paying, they suddenly aren't losers. If someone is considered a loser because they are not attractive back home, and they go to a country where they are considered attractive, they suddenly aren't losers. If someone is considered a loser because they aren't confident enough to approach women, but they go to a country where matchmaking/go betweens/"setting up" is more popular and they manage to get a girlfriend, they suddenly aren't losers. Loser is a relative and subjective term. If someone wants to say that someone who is in a happy relationship and content in life is a loser, just because they found this in an unconventional way, it says more about that person than it does the people they are judging. 🤷♂️

Don’t kill the golden goose! Tax reforms may drive away expats
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Unfortunately, a lot of Thai people don't want to even admit that they are so reliant on foreigners. -

Maybe the dogs sense that it's strange that a human lives in a park? -
Historian Urges Thaksin To Stop Pulling Strings Behind PM
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That doesn't sound right. He agreed to his party to coming to power (the thing he wanted anyway) on the condition that he was allowed to return to Thailand? -

Labour Minister Stands Firm on 400 Baht Wage Rise Despite Concerns
BangkokReady replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
It's kind of a poisoned chalice. There's no way that people are going to put up with wage increases without expecting other things to change. Obviously, the low wage allows more employees than needed, and this could likely prompt a change in this attitude. It's a nice idea to develop and change, but often the things that change have negative effects as well as positive. -

Thai doctor vows to create "Hitler Room" to gas hospital smokers
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I realise these people don't like smoking, but why don't they get this mad about pollution? They must be glaring at a smoker smoking outside (likely harming no one) while they themselves are breathing in all kinds of pollution from Thailand's air. If they aren't wearing some sort of filtering mask all the time while outside, they would have to be quite unhinged to complain about people smoking. -
Swedish Man Scammed by Thai Woman, Loses Over 300,000 Baht
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
It literally happens in this story... 🙄 -
The guys just a bit of a crackpot. He tries to make out that all foreigners are bad and all Thais are wonderful. He comments on a public forum, then if anyone replies to him, he starts to get angry that people are "getting involved". As if his comments exist in some kind of vacuum, whatever he says is fact, and anyone who disagrees is winding him up. That's why I found it particularly ironic that he would give another user a dressing down for behaving a lot like him.

He's being dishonest. Asians sleep on the floor or other hard objects because they can. For whatever reason, they find it comfortable, probably because they are a lot smaller than us Westerners. Same with the big wooden sofas. I can't sit on them for more than a few minutes, Thais are happy to use them all day. Sadly, when you say something that people don't like, the lies begin... 🤷♂️

would it be fair to say that part of the culture is primitive ? Obviously, yes. It pretty much fits the definition of primitive exactly. Unfortunately, the "you can't say that" brigade decide that certain things aren't allowed to be said, even if they are factually accurate, because they consider them too negative.

Surely the question is should you defend yourself? Unless it's a sustained attack, it's quite likely that any fighting back will end up with a mob of Thais attacking you or you being charged with a crime.
