  1. So, from 2-year licence to 5-year licence before expired, you don't need to take eye-tests?
  2. What about the countless young Thais that do the exact same thing that these "brats" are doing?
  3. Not even a question. There's no reason for him not to. He'll probably win too.
  4. Neither. There's a weird things Thais can do where because they're not expecting to hear Thai from a non-Thai person, they literally cannot understand it.
  5. Riiight. The foreigner should always bear in mind how annoying he is being by expecting a Thai to have to listen to him talk. That's completely reasonable. 🙄 You sound a tad racist.
  6. How is people wanting to put others down neutral? I think you're the one with the problem childhood.
  7. They want him to be bad at Thai, because then they get to put him down and feel better about themselves.
  8. A lot of people are completely deluded when it comes to police. They seem think that just because they know (or believe) they are innocent, that the police should treat them as such, and they should never have to comply with anything the police ask them to do.
  9. Nah, they're just doing their job. People have this bizarre idea that "right to protest" means being allowed to occupy public areas until they get what they want, which isn't the case. Obviously the police have to move people on before they get out of control, and they're of course allowed to use force to do this. People don't like it, but generally that's because the police are authority figures who have the power to tell people what to do, which a lot of people cannot cope with.
  10. Exactly. I said they have valid grievances. All the rest was made up by you. Thank you for admitting to your lie. Now please stop it.
  11. No, it was a tirade. I didn't mention any of those things. You just wanted to say them. There were protests. They call them demonstrations, but they choose to categorise them as "far-right" demonstrations, which was what I was discussing. I know you want to lie, derail and smear, but I'm not interested in helping you.
  12. I made up the clearly speculative comment that I made? Wow. How smart you were to figure that out. 🙄
  13. The lefties would be applauding them, because it's all ideological. They don't actually care about anyone, and they certainly don't care about being honest or fair.
  14. I'm not sure how this tirade applies to my post. Did you mean to reply to someone else?
  15. I'm not sure how you don't know how this use of the word "you" works (unless English isn't your first language). Google "the generic you" and you should be able to find out. I don't think they are all far-right thugs and they do have valid grievances. That was my point. The fact that you deny their grievances suggests you're part of the problem.
  16. You can't help feeling that by labelling these protests "far-right", the media is attempting to deflect attention from the grievances that prompted them. It sounds like they're pushing a narrative of "Some racists are protesting because they hate non-White people, not because they have a valid reason to be upset". But then when some non-White people are protesting something, it's made to sound completely legitimate. I wonder where this will all end, if the media pushes a narrative where non-Whites can do no wrong, and Whites cannot complain about anything non-Whites do.
  17. It's all about optics. Thailand wanting "quality tourists" mean they want to have a certain kind of tourist because they perceive that as increasing the country's reputation. It doesn't mean that they will be welcoming to the "right kind of tourist" in a way they aren't to anyone else. In reality, it has nothing to do with the tourists themselves. You've also got to remember that "quality tourists" are high class and high spending tourists who behave in a respectful manner, so you aren't going to find a warmer level of welcome from a lower priced establishment.
  18. She may be being called a woman, but the following is still true: "If she has some sort of genetic mutation that means her body is similar to that of a man, the fairest thing to do might be to not allow her to compete. Apparently she has XY chromosomes, which mean she is male. Even if she has a womb, it might put her in the intersex area. It's not unlike the whole trans in sport issue it's important to keep women's sport safe and fair for women."
  19. Because he's a Thai monk. Money first, Dharma second.
