Market shooting in Samut Prakan leaves one dead, two injured

A lot of crazy violence in Thailand today. Maybe they feel bad about all the heat that the Brits have been getting on here lately... 🤔 -

They were colonised by the Spanish. Countries that were colonised by the Spanish don't do well due to the way they developed socially and politically. -
Teens riding against traffic cause fatal accident in Pathum Thani
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Perhaps it was after the collision, not before or during? I didn't even notice this before making my own reply. It's clearly after the accident, as they say that they were discussing the accident. -

Don't Thais use titles a lot? They don't seem to use pronouns like we do in English. They even say their own names when they talk about themselves. It's likely that they would be saying the title of whomever they were talking to repeatedly. -

Bangkok woman contracts rare lung infection from feeding pigeons

Bless em. Thais always seem to be doing something harmful in the name of "good deeds". Feed the dangerous soi dogs (with food that rats probably eat most of), feed the disease spreading winged vermin, keep birds suffering in tiny cages and fish in small buckets thinking they'll get good karma by temporarily releasing them. I dread to think of the amount of negative karma that these Thais are actually building up. -
Crime In Thailand Versus Crime In Your Home Country
BangkokReady replied to Brewster67's topic in General Topics
I don't think I've experienced much crime at all in Thailand, but I guess I'm not really in the demographic to be a victim of crime, same as most foreigners. There's plenty of crime going on, we just don't see it. Ask the same question to foreigners who have female children/young adults out there. -
Crime In Thailand Versus Crime In Your Home Country
BangkokReady replied to Brewster67's topic in General Topics
I think you mean that there is very little violent crime and theft in Thailand. There is a ton of crime when it comes to tax, driving, corruption, sexual offenses, etc. -
Basically, there is the far left, then everyone else are far right Nazis.

Vietnam overtakes Thailand in tech exports, posing a challenge
BangkokReady replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Thanks. I couldn't be bothered to read the whole thing and this is probably the most important point. Confidence, transparency, consistency, being warm to outsiders, are all important for attracting foreign investment. -
It isn't only British people that are violent. All countries have their violent groups. But there does seem like a propensity for young British men to want to live out some sort of "East End gangster" fantasy, LARping as a Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels character, when they get drunk. As someone said, Thailand is a place that attracts this kind of Brit, while you find "Bogans" more common in Bali. The thing with the British is more an issue with alcohol. They're wound pretty tight, and there are certain demographic for whom "drinking, f*cking and fighting" form the basis of their masculinity and pastimes. Brits are actually known as being very polite in most places around the world. There's just a few places that purposefully market themselves for the "Oi, Oi! Lads on tour!" types, who go out wearing football shirts with their names on and try to get as drunk as possible. (Eyebeefa, etc.)

Young Foreign Man Found Dead on Pattaya Beach
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
You think they'll just go on the fact that they have some kind of flower tattooed on their arm? Or, perhaps, they might use photos to confirm? Not many people will have the same bird and flower tattoos, in the same place, on the same arm. -

Pattaya’s persistent peddlers: Foreign flower sellers annoy tourists
BangkokReady replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Most of the time it's better not to give or buy. There's a huge chance that it's fake, be that part of a gang or an individual pretending. Give to people you know are genuine. Everyone else, just ignore. -
