    Not exactly a stunner. Isn't this all against the law? There are often stories of adult content creators being arrested. Why can she discuss it publicly?

    You can kind of see why the guy would be so trusting. In most Western countries, someone could very easily go to the police if someone stole from them and the police would take action, which acts as a deterrent for such crimes.

    The connections probably have little to do with it. She's relaxed about it because she took land/money from a foreigner and there is little he can do about it.

    They don't like the fact that they rely on tourists.

    It's got to suck that your nickname is the same as the thing that killed your best friend and took your leg. I wonder if she'll change it.

    I don't disagree, but Thailand isn't going to do this anytime soon. There's no way they're going to return to the "foreigners are nice people who we don't need to fear and should welcome" stance.

    Thais are fickle and can be pretty rude when they want to be. As foreigners, we're not really entitled to the normal levels of respect anyway. Post-covid Thailand is also very different to pre-covid Thailand. The best thing to do is expect to be treated pretty much indifferently, then when you do get some of that old-school Thai friendliness, enjoy it for the fleeting experience that it is.

    Only if you choose some nasty backpacker place, which is obviously what she wanted. At least admit to it: "It's really difficult, because we chose to stay somewhere where there is a lot of free-flowing alcohol, because we wanted to get really drunk."

    The comb at the end of the travelator could grab the family jewels? Or anything hanging down. Folds of skin, loose clothing, etc. It's risky even with flip-flops, as we have seen in the past.

    Yup. Tainted enough to make her have some sort of four hour hallucinogenic episode but isn't in hospital the next day? Unlikely. More likely she was knocking them back so quickly that the last few didn't really hit until after she got back to her room and she went on a drunken adventure. Sounds like she's living her dream.

    A depressing story from start to finish. I wonder where the father is. Some guy who seemed real cool a few years ago?

    I think she only says friend. Possibly a couple of guys racing around on rental scooters. Then he hopped on his buddy's scooter and got the heck out of there. Perhaps he is a fairly recent "friend". A tough lesson to learn...

    Or perhaps they see that the locals tend not to follow them, so assume they can do the same... 🤔

    This isn't the complete picture. There was also rioting by immigrants where the police basically walked away and let them get on with it. Then, when non-immigrants rioted later, they were pretty firm with them. You can't really remove the context of a recent riot that relates in some way.

    Funerals are more about the grieving family. The departed don't actually benefit.

    When it comes to electronics, you get what you pay for. It's worth choosing a budget, then trying to find the best item you can for that amount. You should also see what's out there for how much based on the specs you want. It's really best to buy from a store, unless you are quite knowledgeable and know you can trust them online store. Also best to stick with a well known brand.
