Why would anyone choose the 20 year old in this scenario? It almost seems pointless to ask. I would rather be alone than with a "fat ugly bad mannered 20 year old with 2 kids with no job". The "pretty, fit , well mannered 30 year old with her own business" seems like the obvious choice. Is this some sort of trick question? Should I expect a "gotcha" in your next response?

As opposed to what? 25, 30, 40? Generally, they're likely to be more physically attractive, have a more pleasant demeanour, and have less baggage. Would you not agree?

It should really be reported as "Far right", as it's more of a claim than an accurate description. There seems to only be far-left, left-wing, left-of-centre, and then far-right.

I reckon you are not thinking straight. After the father has abandoned and the mother decides to keep her child without income she must leave her child with a guardian, go to work in the city but the minimum wage of around 12000 month is not enough to pay for accommodation, guardian, food, clothing, electricity, etc, now she finds herself working in the sex industry. Please do the maths, a 12k baht monthly income from a job at Big C won't make ends meet. We are back in this horrible circle. I think you're both correct. There is an element of needing the money and also an element of wanting the money. Some would still be on the game even if they got some money from the government, while some would probably not. It seems to be down to a matter of opinion, which of course people often disagree on.

I believe users might choose this figure as they feel it allows them to still discuss selecting a young girl but without what they perceive as the danger of any criticism for choosing a teenager of 18 or 19. I'm pretty sure most would be more than happy with an 18 or 19 year old girl, should the chance present itself. It's very interesting how many people have strange attitudes towards dating young women here. Even the ones who seem to be critical of others dating young women, still themselves want to date young women, but appear to be cautious about what age they state, less they lose their ability to judge others.

You mean like the guys who are always asking "what is the age of consent?" in Thailand? As if that should matter to a 60+ geezer... Why would someone looking to pay to have sex with an underage girl (very much illegal) be asking about the age of consent (a matter of law)?

Very sad, but the girl bears some of the responsibility for choosing a bad guy, not securing commitment, allowing him to get her pregnant, not getting her to marry her, and so on.

While I agree that this is part of the issue, if they absolutely could not do anything before 18, most of them would probably start at 18. So while the problem of underage girls being paid for sex would go, the problem of young women being paid for sex would remain.

And if Thailand started doing that, people would begin abusing, just like they do in the West. And that would require a lot of money from a fairly poor country.

It differs from country to country. But we're talking about Thailand here, where it's especially bad. 🤷‍♂️
