@mistral53 I had a closer look at mine as it appears your pin is tapered and i assume mine is concave. Well my pins are the same as yours: But the mats underneath have the locking part : So your mats appear to be the problem.

Looks like the “ pin “ in the floor is tapered ?? Plus the mats have a steel ring whereas on mine it is rubber ! I believe you got yours earlier than mine ? mine was delivered Nov 30th. Wonder what other early adopters pins and mats ( i avoided using the word ring for obvious reasons ! ) look like ?? @macahoom ? Either way i should show your dealership my video .

Watched the kids clean the house this morning, their weekly chore !, 19 year old girl taking great pride in sweeping and dusting the house to the best of her ability, 16 year old boy seeing how little he could get away with !! Little lady decided she wanted to go to Rong Kluea market in Saraburi, off we went on a 1 hour drive, luckily I like driving here ( seriously ). Had lunch , I had a wonderful shrimp and garlic spaghetti, little lady had a pad krapow moo and the predictable kids some Naamtok soup. The market was like a sauna !! and nothing different from our local ( Navanakorn ) Rong Kluea, had a brief visit. Decided to visit a temple on a hill we spotted nearby ( Wat Phra Phutthachai ). Some good cardio walking up the steps and some great views from the top. Fed some of the most docile monkeys i have ever seen with some of the most overpriced corn i have ever paid for ( that’ll teach me to be foreign !! ). Drove back home to some great Spotify music selections , little lady and kids slept through some of the best music the 1970’s has to offer !!. Not earth shatteringly exciting or mind numbingly dull but very pleasant.

That is surprising, as i said before mine fit fine, if only i could stop the little lady’s side from sliding forwards.

What did you make of it @motdaeng ? I think it is the official update from BYD just not delegated to Thailand yet, the guy who posted the video seems to get a lot of insider info from China. As an OTA it seems very small: As mentioned the 3 finger air con trick is superfluous. Wireless Apple CarPlay is handy. Vehicle location on the app is also handy. Presumably there’s some additional tweaks. Still no shortcut to seat memory although I guess OTA programmers are designing BYD updates rather than Seal specific. Personally I would like to see some sort of Sentry Mode application, so the 360° cameras can continue to record for a set period after the car is locked. My front and rear cameras record in this mode ( sensing motion ) but due to 12v battery worries use 1 FPS and for a max of 24 hours. All round recording would be great if even for a short period.

Yes agreed i try not to watch season 1 of anything as soon as it comes out as when season 2 comes around am trying to remember what happened earlier ( those series that give an extensive “ previously on … “ are most welcome ). Billy the Kid is another case, season 2 stopped halfway through around 6 months ago with 4 episodes still yet to appear …… very annoying.

If am on an application that doesn’t show the air con shortcut button on info screen I use the steering wheel buttons to adjust temp or fan speed. It would appear this latest update to change fan/temp is over the top as we already have: Voice commands Steering wheel shortcut Info screen shortcut

Rumour floating around FB is that a new OTA ( 2403 ) could be coming soon, upgrades including: Wireless Apple Carplay Vehicle location on BYD app Open air con settings using 3 fingers on touchscreen ( 3 fingers on screen in any mode, slide up and down to adjust temp, left and right to adjust fan speed ) A video doing the rounds on FB explaining how to upgrade via a flash drive attracting the usual attention, it’s all in Thai ( and speeded up Thai at that ! ) so i can’t comment on its authenticity but it was posted by the guy who downgraded and side loaded apps for me. He seems to be in the know about all things BYD but even so i will wait for the OTA.

Yes but as the Thai Embassy in London will be issuing the visa I would go with their guidelines. MFA guidance has been wrong in the past, there was a glaring error on their website for many years ( don’t remember what it actually was ), Ubonjoe would frequently have to correct others quoting the MFA website.

I did it, albeit back in 2016, the police clearance using ACRO is straightforward and easy. The medical certificate: There was a lot of uncertainty about this at the time so: I visited a local Thai clinic and got it signed for 360 baht with just the usual temperature check and weight/height checks. In the U.K. i visited my old GP who I hadn’t seen for at least 25 years, she gave me a letter stating that she had reviewed my records and there was no evidence of any of the diseases stated. I think it boils down to gp’s in the U.K. are unwilling to sign the medical certificate without actually testing whereas in Thailand ……… At the Thai embassy in London the U.K. letter was refused but the Thai certificate accepted. Probably too late to get the Thai certificate signed i guess but don’t accept anything other than the official medical certificate signed in the U.K., a covering letter will not do ( in my case 8 years ago ).

I did the downgrade, side loaded a load of apps and then upgraded a couple of days afterwards, zero problems and very happy with the results, since January 9th. Short story: mid December. I saw on FB a guy advertising a rear view mirror that is a front and rear camera with 24 hour parking surveillance designed especially for the Seal.( search Sinjet on FB ). I fancied it and went to see him in BKK , he fit the cameras and also the BYD front camera which i had bought previously. Together in the deal was unlocking of the screen for sideloading apps but i wasn’t that clued up about this and forgot to ask him anyway so it didn’t get done. ( page 12 this thread ). Fast forward to Jan 9th. After some failed attempts to side load with others on this thread I returned to BKK and the guy downgraded, loaded whichever apps i wanted FOC and i upgraded a few days later. ( see page 21 this thread ). The OTA returned me back to the latest version as I had already done an OTA around end of Dec. Added YouTube, Google Maps, Waze, Brave browser, Google, YouTube music and GBox ( which allows other apps to be downloaded from within GBox ) also Lazada and FB and some others. Google Maps can now be used in portrait or landscape not available in Apple CarPlay and i also added the charging station overlay. Unlike the BYD browser which can only be used in gear P all apps can now be used on the go including YouTube and anything streamed from the Google or Brave browsers ( not that I would advocate watching videos with the car in motion ). I can strongly recommend the Sinjet guy ( as well as his rear/front camera setup ) particularly if you are in BKK, he also has a colleague working from Chiang Rai. An EV sounding like a hoover ? Mine is totally silent. Only thing i can think of is the pedestrian warning sounds available on a BYD which can be silenced at the flick of a switch.

A Seal SUV in all but name, should fit in nicely here for those that prefer the Seal styling to the Atto but wanted a SUV. Should compete with the Deepal SUV recently released.

Toyota are going to really struggle selling this car with such low power figures ( 218 ps for dual motor ! ) low range and a higher price than the competition. Not to mention the ugly plastic wrapped around the wheels …… The Seal Premium at 1,399,000 beats it on power, range, price and looks. It is more on par with the Seal Dynamic for power and range but that comes in at 1,225,000. Unless Toyota plan is to drop the price by about half a million baht I don’t see them selling many.
