Paperwork is clogging up government departments in Thailand
RocketDog replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I avoid Bangkok with extreme prejudice. I've had my belly full of big cities everywhere. They are always a mixture of so many foreign influences as to be only vaguely representative masquerades of their own culture. It's laughable for you to offer it as any kind of insight into Thai culture. If you can afford to live in Bangkok then you really don't have a clue to how the rest of the country lives. Your cynicism has gotten the better of you. I have however been enough other places in Thailand to form an opinion. I could throw your 'wake up' phrase back at you but that would be petty. Suffice to it say we disagree and that neither of us can change conditions here one whit. -

I think you grossly overestimate the importance of farang to "Thais in general". Thais in general are consumed with the daily fight for the basic necessities of life such as food, water, and shelter. How often do you consider their plight? If they consider us at all, they care little for the burdens farang think so vitally important such as paper chases. Perspective is important. -

Get what exactly? I think the OP stated the case very clearly as well as the obvious solution. He 'gets it' more than many others do apparently. -
"Penis enlargement on Pattaya Beach" - clip brings resort into disrepute

Good thing for you the ladies don't charge by the inch. Alternatively, that's your cane you're protecting. -
Overdosing on weed is just common for amateurs. Unlike many drugs like alcohol however, it does no permanent damage. BTW, in my opinion ALL societies are immature as the current state humans find themselves in readily demonstrates. Whether we survive long enough to mature is an open question. Personally I'm very pessimistic about that.

The Thai commercial grade sativa I purchased recently for 100฿/g didn't have much smell or taste, and didn't look especially tasty, but it certainly did its job. I've grown and sampled my share of strains in Colorado, and there is certainly a certain cache that high grade weed offers, but after 50 years of indulgence, it comes down to utility for me now. I recently bought a very expensive Dewalt cordless drill. It looks great and I enjoy using it. The hole it makes however looks exactly like a hole made by a cheap corded drill. The bottom line for me is that it's now legal, decent weed readily available, and at decent prices. That's the real headline here. I do agree with a previous reply saying we should be sharing information and sources as we savor this wonderful windfall.

I suggest that parties on both sides of this debate take appropriate action. That is, donate money to the numerous groups in Thailand that feed and care for stray animals and perform regular neuter/spay operations on every animal they can catch as well as running an efficient and effective adoption program. P.A.W.S RESCUE in Huahin performs such surgeries at over 1000 animals a year with vaccination records well above that. They happily accept any animal brought to them, no questions asked. They expand their operation as their funding increases. Organizations like them represent the ONLY realistic answer to the issue. It's win/win. Either side you're on, you can feel like you are supporting your perspective and taking real action beyond flapping your jaws and gnashing your teeth. Become part of the solution instead of the problem. As for those advocating the simplest solution of killing everything in sight that troubles you: karma is real. It's also known as The Golden Rule.

New regulations for traffic violation notifications
RocketDog replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
OK. They can't locate the drivers but can magically locate the vehicles to tow and crush? Any way you look at it, police work is needed. That's where the ball is dropped. -
Several American states enacted regulations on the THC content of edibles /ingestables fairly soon after legalizing for recreational use. The THC content had to be clearly stated on the product with recommended dosing levels. Also, regulations on herbicide and other adulterant testing were added. Both of these things make sense. The high from ingestables is much longer and stronger than inhaled vapor or smoke. I've seen more than one person caught in several hours of 'couch lock'. It's particularly easy to overdose because of the time delay to effects onset, which ruins the experience. For inexperienced users that can cause intense anxiety. I prefer sipping beer to slugging down mixed drinks for exactly that reason. Ganga is a drug, and like any drug, its purity and active ingredient level information just makes sense. Prohibition against use doesn't.

Absolutely. No reason to study the results of legalization in other countries. Now, about those 'wheel' and 'fire' things I see other tribes using. Both must be more thoroughly studied (in a vacuum) before we make any rash decisions. Safety first! Until then these so-called innovations should be illegal with severe penalties, even death, imposed for using them prematurely.

Yep. For sure. Think of all the money made from all the cross-border tourists from the RICH ASEAN countries surrounding Thailand compared to the pittance brought by western country tourists coming here being able to enjoy the same rights most of them already enjoy in their home countries. The loss of such tourists to the other ASEAN countries is certainly not a factor in their negative opinions either. NOT! Sour grapes/cannabis for sure. You snooze, you lose.

Same me. If a vendor jerks me around with the "packed" status scam to delay while he orders the product from somewhere else even though he listed it as 'in stock', I just message him that I wiil cancel if he doesn't ship in a day or two. If he doesn't reply I tell him not to ship because I will reject the delivery. Lazada confirmed that I can always refuse delivery. I have control if I pay cash; if I prepay then he has control. It's bad enough that my choices are generally limited to inferior goods so I refuse to play their silly games.

Bottled Palm Oil Prices to Fall to B64-69/Liter
RocketDog replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
I wouldn't use it if it were free. Horrible slop to pour into your bloodstream. Used to use rice bran oil for a while but now won't use anything but olive oil. Cost is not an issue since I use very little oil in my diet anyway. -
I had a similar problem wanting to delete lazada Singapore account. It was a paper chase so I just created a new Lazada acct in Thailand with a different email acct. The old acct didn't have any of my credit card or bank info so hacks can't hurt me.
-
Sure. That makes sense. For cash withdrawals I have a cash printer attachment for my phone. Saves a lot of trouble in getting cash. I highly recommend them. For cash deposits I attach cash with rubber bands to my phone and throw it towards the bank as I drive by. So there is really no need to bother with those pesky ATM machines.

Welcome to Thailand - where the customer is usually wrong!
RocketDog replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I don't check every review I make on Lazada, but I speak my mind for sure, good or bad. I've never seen my bad reviews deleted though. Also many products have multiple one or two star reviews. Lazada controls the reviews, not the store though the store can respond. Maybe it happens as you say but I have seen no evidence of it.
