UK Passport renewal in Thailand
Phulublub replied to Will B Good's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As others have said, any and all visas have nothing at all to do with where you spend your time. I know at least two who have extensions based on Retirement who spend the UK Winter here, but more than six months back in UK....it is the entry and exit dates to/from the country that should, perhaps, concern you more if you want to pretend you live in the UK when you do not. UK Passport renewal in Thailand

Unless you are doing something illicit - like pretending to live in the UK so you continue to get pension increases, for example - then you have no worries whether they screen for anything. PH -
800K Method Changing Banks
Phulublub replied to JWNZ's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did this a couple of years ago...Jomtien.... Waited until middle of the year so balance required is 400K. Opened new account, transferred 400K...thus both had minimum 400K for extension...following day transferred another 400K...so new account has required 800K. At extension time, took photocopies of all entries in old account up to transfers, and new account from opening, front pages of both, and letter from new account for balance on day of application.... all good. I bought last year, using two WISE transfers to BKK Bank, both marked "for property purchase". No issues at all with Land Office. I did a comparison with using bank (rate and fees) against WISE - there was actually little in it. For msaller amounts, WISE wins by a mile, but as their fee is a percentage as opposed to the (usual) flat fee of a bank, it will eventually be more expensive. PH

One-way north to south, with all the side sois one way, alternating from 3rd to 2nd then 2nd to 3rd - as those from Beach to 2nd do. Raised pedestrain walkway on at least one side for the entire length (with no street furniture), designated and marked loading bays for deliveries. Separate and marked scooter parking. Remove pretty much ALL areas for cars to park to reduce incentives for anyone to travel there in a car (though the large carpark at the market end could be expanded and controlled for those who wish or ned to bring a car in). Maybe even add in a moveable barrier at the north end of Tree Town to stop all through traffic from about 5PM. Would make the road more enjoyable and safer for all without impeding those who need to transit too much But, of course, to work would need to be enforced - sadly little chance of that. PH

Jomtien. I definitely have NOT done TM30 each and every time and definitely HAVE NOT been fined. I really don't care what the TM30 desk have told you when the TM47 desk has not said ever batted an eyelid. As an aside (for others, probably, as you appear not to care about real life experiences) was pleasantly surprised in July when, after getting an online 90 day reminder, my (online) application was rejected because I had been out of the country in June, and incuding a new date based on when I got back. When that date approached, my online application was approved. PH
