  1. There is no law/rule thats states this. But at the same time, they dont want perpeptual tourists, so eventually they will refuse you entry if you're 'living' here on tourist stamps. I ran the same gauntlet for years, but its definately getting harder.
  2. If thai law allows for gifting of this amount between spouses with no tax liabilities each tax year, then I don't see where illegality comes into play. Its legal.
  3. Any info on joining this cult? Edit after reading the article: From the pictures shared on his Facebook account, most of the followers who opted to have their genitals enhanced for charm and luck were men. In essence, the cult leader ended his ritual by performing oral sex on the men. Scratch that, changed my mind now
  4. Because your question makes no sense - what has Revolut got to do with sending money from your thai bank? Revolut is the Receiving bank - they will accept whatever you can send. If the bank of thailand has some rule that you cannot send thb out, then obviously your Thai bank must convert to another currency, but thats not a requirement of Revolut.
  5. Not really: Here's 50k euros sent via Wise: Compared to Kbank's transfer receiving rate of 37.907thb, giving 1 895 363thb. (this doesnt account for the SWIFT fee or thai bank fee yet either).
  6. Jeez, who pis*ed on your cornflakes?
  7. OK good, so finally you concede that the reference to 'wealthy pensioner', '80k pension', '40k with investments' is a reference to the LTR visa scheme, and nothing to do with any DTA/thai tax documents that have been translated by 'legal folk'.
  8. Sorry, i wasnt meaning to be crass, but its pretty rare that my phone is dead its even rarer that my phone is dead and I intend to make a transfer, so to me its a moot point. However with google authenticator you can install on multiple devices, or even on PC as a backup
  9. I had the same thing once - the teller says my signature doesnt match - took numerous attempts. In my experience, when forced to produce a signature in a small box, for them to print into your passbook, it hardly ever looks like your natural signature, but thats not the point, they should look at the style of the signature rather than insisting on a exact copy. I said to her 'you have my passport, my Thai DL, the names all match, you can see that im the person on these documents.....' 'Sign again pleaseeee'
  10. Ha yep, it does seem that way! Google tells me AC are cheaper than DC, and more efficient, so it makes sense.
  11. I see the box will come with the required rectifier/transformer. For me I'd used 24VDC solenoids - -this is the standard in industry. How far from the control box will the solenoids be? 24VDC is safe, no risk of shock - I wouldnt want unnecessary runs of mains power.
  12. How do you prove such a case? For me, if the hotel records / CCTV show that he did have a room and take her there, then its enough, there's no good reason for it. What occured in the room becomes 'he said, she said'. Very hard to establish facts.
  13. Source yourself some alprozalam or Diazepam, either through talking to your doctor frankly - mine will prescribe if I request them for travel. 10 pills last me a year, theres no danger with infrequent use. Otherwise find your local flexible pharmacist. Sleep like business class
  14. Hi didnt say he was using his wifi, but his youtube. Which didnt make any sense, as they would need his gmail / youtube sign in credentials. Turns out he omitted to say he used to live next door, and left himself logged in to the tv box.....
  15. Was that in Hua Hin? What ballpark figure??
  16. Hard to comment without seeing footage. Doesnt sound like he was at a crossing (as if that makes a difference!) so I see can the blame being on him.
  17. A co-founder of Sansiri - I'd be more shocked if he wasnt rich
  18. This info is encrypted. The whole security side of VPNs is sales hype, its not required to be secure online, but sure, it adds another layer.
  19. I read it. I wanted to highlight it again, in case anyone had missed it. Is that ok Ralf? Thanks
  20. Also possible that it was someone involved directly in the refusal, and they dont fancy jail time
  21. Agree, but car crime isnt really a thing here. I'd rather a rental didnt have big stickers, but just for the aesthetics - no car looks better with "SOMCHAI MOTORS" plastered on the door! but its not a deal breaker The OP still hasnt explained his issue with it
  22. I've ordered so much stuff from Lazada over the years - literally hundreds of times, and never had an issue. The link i shared is a bangkok based seller with many reviews, all of which look genuine - reviewers having posted pics, and written in non 'bot-like' translated thai - which is what you'll find on many of the china based sellers. This is my selection criteria - works for me so far
