  1. It does when the "experts" are on the payroll of the authorities... In any event, why should we not question experts?
  2. I think if people learned to do arithmetic rather than how to "think critically" would help a lot. People have been spouting "question authority" for as long as I can remember, but now those same people seem to be demanding that not question authority, how funny is that?
  3. 4 AA batteries, that's a real deal breaker...
  4. Where do you shop and what brands do you recommend for good quality?
  5. I just got a refund check from the IRS after a dispute, and it included 8% interest. Looking at their interest information, I believe it safe to assume this is for two years. Does anyone know for certain? I am trying to figure out what year was for. Incidentally, I just lost my e-deposit cherry using the Chase app and that is just as slick as can be. So glad I did not mail it....
  6. Yeah, I guess "recently" would have been a better choice of words. In any event, I wonder if that same people that don't like carpet because (they think) it's hard to keep clean, don't wear white underwear for the same reason.... Good carpet is generally cheaper and easier to maintain than vinyl.
  7. Yeah, it's not often I find myself waking up on the floor of a brothel or a fast-food restaurant, nor do clip my nails over the carpet, but that's just me.
  8. Picture and or model number? Can you tell how deep it will detect?
  9. That's what it will cost if you're lucky... I've been putting off getting one, let me know what you get and how it works. My sister's house is hollow concrete blocks on slab and it works for her. Why is it always the last hole of a mounting plate that hits rebar as soon as you start drilling?
  10. The Bosch D-Tect are nice units, (my sister has one) but they're a little pricy. Or just buy a cheap one and test it by checking areas you know have pipes and wiring. l You want to use it one brick & mortar walls or stud-walls?
  11. So every time you get a delivery, you open and inspect it in front of the delivery guy and decide if you want it or not and then if you don't want it, give the open box back to the delivery guy? Really? Hey, when you open the packages outside, does that shredded packing material ever blow out and make a mess? I hate that stuff, but the cat loves it...
  12. Mineral wool & fiberglass both have good sound reduction qualities are are routinely used in commercially produced sound attenuating products. As far as I know, cork is the preferred material for pin-board. Why not just buy a ready-made pin-board, white-board or combination board from OfficeMate large enough to cover the hole?
