CanadaSam replied to bob smith's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Made me laugh today!!! -
Step-daughter driving straight on a road, guy suddenly turns left and obviously there is an accident. Wife goes to police station and the cop says daughter is at fault. Wife asks, was my daughter wrong in driving in the left lane? Yes, says the cop. Anybody have Anutin's phone number? I am furious!!!

Bob, if you will care to remember, most russians were quietly living their lives in russia, before this so-called "military operation" in Ukraine. Now, thousands are dying weekly, trying to put Putin's dreams to reality, which ain't gonna happen. They are here, escaping certain death due to one madman, and I would feel a bit of pity for them. If they are misbehaving, discipline them.

Thai tourism revolution: Duty-free ditch and booze bonanza
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Sheer lunacy! Do you think the majority of tourists will be sitting in their hotel rooms drinking duty free booze, depriving the local bars of income? Yes, that's the reason they come to Thailand! Just a few more brain cells, and this country could move forward a bit! -
The difference in prices of atoravastatin (and almost all medicines in Thailand) is truly amazing! I have bought a box of 10 tablets for 700 baht, and at a different pharmacy, a box for 230 baht! (Different brands, same medicine). My elderly MIL gets loads of packets for free at the gov't hospital, (worth thousands, I'm sure), which she does not even use!

Recommended Dental implant Places in Pattaya
CanadaSam replied to CartagenaWarlock's topic in Pattaya
My recommendation is K&K family dental clinic in Na Jomtien. Fluent English, highly qualified, low rates for farangs (200 baht for a dental x-ray!). Oh and 5 star reviews from most patients! -
From your post, I assume you wish to stay in Thailand for a year to explore the possibility of retiring here. I will also assume you do not want to go through all the paperwork and formalities involved, nor wish to put the required 800,000 baht in the bank, in case you decide not to stay here longer than the year. Please skip all the difficult steps involved, just fly here on a 30 day visa exemption given at the airport, immediately head to the nearest reputable visa agency, and they will do just about everything for you for only a few hundred dollars, and you will end up with a 15 month visa in a very short period of time. If you wish to travel to nearby countries, please add the multi entry option as well for very small money. The above assumes you are over 50 years old. Bon Voyage!

Hostages were carrying white cloth when shot, IDF says
CanadaSam replied to CharlieH's topic in The War in Israel
Seems to be there is going to be a lot of reckoning after the fight is over, especially after today's news that some girls/women were killed in a Christian religion compound where no terrorists were ever present or welcome, and which the Pope has already addressed. -
Well, asking for 7000 Euro is a bit too much to extend your holiday, IMO. And, the parents apparently sent the money already, then contacted the police due to no contact with the kid. Probably the worst criminal in the world, because he was too drunk or too high to simply thank the parents for the money in a timely manner, which would have avoided the cops getting involved. Now, it will probably be the police who will benefit from the 7000 Euros, and I don't see any jail time for the kid, because there was no actual crime committed in Thailand, and the cops will be more than happy with confiscation of the proceeds......

Can not find it on google maps. I will try driving up the road to find it. Could you please elaborate if the instructor was male or female? Would prefer my 18 year old step-daughter to be with a female.

Landlord spraying for termites inside the house... Is this normal?
CanadaSam replied to bamboozled's topic in Chiang Mai
Well, first of all, termite proofing should be done before construction, which gives you decades of protection. Secondly, the spraying is quite toxic, and the latest treatments are to inject holes in the floor and put the chemicals in, and then seal the holes, so only termites are affected, not humans. -
I forsee a bunch of oxygen clinics opening all over Thailand, giving you pure oxygen for 15 minutes for 50 baht or something of the sort....

Dangerous blue-ringed octopus found in seafood in Thailand

And, I'm still waiting to "learn" how to identify it, as it probably won't glow purple or blue when threatened, if it's dead?- 35 replies

OP here, shocked and surprised at the amount of responses, mostly valid, IMO. I was just commenting on the fact that you can not watch ANY tv or movie these days without explicit gay scenes, which is mind-boggling, because we all know that homosexuality is quite a small part of general life. Why do these producers feel the need to include it in almost EVERY film and tv series? It makes it look absolutely normal, especially to kids, and we all know how much the media affects kids thinking and behaviour.

jaywalker2 had it correct, but to put it in simple English, there are apps which gain permission to access your mobile's microphone or keyboard and can know everything you say or type. Consequently, you get ads and perhaps phonecalls from people wanting to sell you whatever you spoke about.

I just don't get it. When I was younger, there was never any type of gay sex or even kissing on TV, movies. Now, it seems that almost every show has gay scenes, and I'm worried about the impact it has on youngsters. It really seems like TV, movies make it look like it's perfectly normal, and I don't believe that it is! I mean if everyone was gay, there would be no next generation of humans, right?

Thai woman manipulated by scammer into swindling her mother
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
The girl was alone, in a hotel room. She masterminded all of this, lock her up, pronto! -
Honestly, the vast differences in rates between private and government hospitals leaves one's mind boggled. Especially if you consider that both provide acceptable care and treatment. Hopefully the on-going government discussions about rates at private hospitals will be successful in narrowing the gap.

Irishman’s life hangs by a thread after mosquito bite in Thailand
CanadaSam replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Sad. If the family can read this, move him to a Government hospital, they know how to deal with Dengue at much cheaper rates.- 209 replies
