  1. Is it normal in Thailand to install large dangerous electrical equipment, without a circuit breaker?
  2. I would hope that when he is found guilty, his mother also faces charges for trying to mislead a police investigation.
  3. They will work to reduce the temperature by a few degrees, but note that they are basically super humidifiers that will make your room much more humid with a lot of water vapour.
  4. I can't understand anyone wanting to buy an android box for 6000 baht, when nowadays there are plenty of android smart tv's on sale everywhere for 4000 to 7000 baht, even in larger sizes of 40 to 43 inches!
  5. Was in Friendship Supermarket in South Pattaya today, and was surprised to see a large selection of Cigars, did not look closely, but there's a start for you, if you're in the vicinity....
  6. What's amazing is that the EC is actually helping one party by publicly declaring that their scheme is going to cost less than the other party.
  7. I really enjoyed the dance! Cute girls too!
  8. Didn't see ANY incidents of "throwing" water, but LOTS of "shooting" water today (12th), in Soi 3, Soi 6, etc. from those big guns that it seems lots of people are now carrying. Fortunately, in a car, so fairly safe.
  9. You do know that the BIB do not do much of anything without a financial incentive? As he seems comfortable with throwing away his money, perhaps he could offer an "incentive" to the concerned authorities which may get them motivated? Even a quarter of the amount that he lost, may get the "officers" to track the owner of the bank account into which the money was transferred, interogate them for the details of the "people" that actually took possession of the bulk of the funds, after the dimwit (poor illeterate farmer, I'm guessing) got the money, and track down the actual culprits. Failing which, there are certain departments which deal with financial fraud, especially banking fraud, and they may be willing to pursue the matter. I realize that all officers at all departments will have a hearty laugh first at your BIL's stupidity, but it's worth a try.
  10. The GF threw some water at me this morning as I was trying to clean up her (messy) dressing table.
  11. Pity, ate there a couple days ago, pretty good food, reasonable rates.
  12. I don't see any "gruesome" injury in the picture. Can you elaborate please?
  13. You seem like a knowledgeable person, while watching the video, was there any part in it that did not strongly suggest that this are the actions of a guy under some serious mind altering drugs?
  14. Just searched for this app on Google Playstore, no luck. Does anybody know how to download this app? Wanted to update it with a fairly clean toilet I found today in the least unlikely place in Pattaya!
  15. You seem to be awfully pedantic about the word pedantic!
  16. I LOVE that word! Never heard it before! Thanks, and I hope you don't mind if I steal it on occasion!
  17. Girlfriend had a boil on her finger. Went to the supposedly "best" hospital in Pattaya, and was quoted 10,000 baht to remove the boil!!! We left, and she called a friend, who is a veterinarian (animal doctor). She removed it within seconds, and put the necessary anti-bacterial creme and dressing etc., no charge!!! Girlfriend is absolutely fine a day later, with hardly any mark where the boil was! I just don't know for how much longer people are going to keep saying that medical treatment is good and low cost in Thailand, if they keep trying to rip off farangs to this ludicrous extent!!!
  18. I believe the Christian faith has been around a lot longer than the United States.
  19. In this case, I believe "an eye for an eye" is far more suitable than a simple death penalty, which is essentially painless. How about raping him with the appropriate metal rod in proportion to his **** forced into an 8 year old girl, and then, chopping him into 10 pieces while still alive, starting with the offending member (pardon the pun) and then things like hands, legs, etc., so that he does not die quickly.
  20. I have found that buying the insurance (5900 baht) works wonders! And the insurance is good too! Bangkok Bank, tourist visa, new account opened within minutes, with a debit card issued.
  21. Thanks, Steven. If it was me, I would do it in this order: 1- Take a day and go to Pattaya, open a new bank account (because as you say, a large sum "disappeared" from his present account). DO NOT tell the wife about ANY of this, if necessary, leave new bank documents, change of visa documents, etc. with a friend, or in a safety deposit box somewhere, or even a "rent-a-mailbox" service preferably in Pattaya. 2- Visit an agent and see how much it would cost him to change to retirement on pension (he could do it himself, but as this is a sensitive problem, timing is everything). I suggest Maneerat Visa. (He seems to have the necessary pension amount already, so I doubt the agent fees will be high). 3- Find a condo or house in Pattaya suitable for him, starting whenever he wants to move, as his present visa is already valid till early June. 4- Pick a date to leave, and pack at the last minute, but have the necessary size vehicle ready for the move anytime he needs it. 5- Damage control: IF there is any possibility that the wife can track his whereabouts from his phone or sim card, get new ones before moving day, preferably in Pattaya, far from his present home. 6- He, new Landlord, or even the Agent can help with new address notification to Immigration and 90 day reporting, etc. I would not attempt any type of negotiation now, for her to "help" him with extending marriage visa or even any type of monetary support to her, and certainly not even give her a HINT that he is planning to leave! The main reason is, when she finds him gone, and no income for her to live on, SHE is the one who will be begging for help and will do whatever he dictates. Wait for that point in time, it won't take long, IMO. Best of luck to him! And much happiness in his new start in life, it will probably be a lot better with a brand new, hopefully obedient and sexy gf!
  22. And then agreed to give the man a lift back to Bangkok before seeing their friends? Exactly! Something stinks. Insurance scam? Makes NO sense that they drive that distance, don't even bother to wait around or try and find their "friends" and immediately pick up a total stranger to go back to Bangkok with.
  23. No way that could be a Buddhist Temple, because tourists or other visitors are never allowed without full pants, long skirts, arms covered, etc. etc.!
  24. There is a HUGE free parking lot in the lane with a 7-11 on the west side of the market (west side of Keha condos), only 5 minutes walk to the market.
  25. Please do recommend him here if he does a good job at a reasonable price, I'm sure many readers (including me) will find it helpful info for future moves. Thank You!
