Arrested for Overstay by Immigration Police
CanadaSam replied to Banana7's topic in US & Canada Topics and Events
Your "friend" did something very wrong, numerous times, to end up in this situation. I had a new Canadian Passport issued in Bangkok with zero problems. The staff are polite and efficient. Secondly, if the Judge says he has 10 days of freedom to sort out the mess, and is arrested a few hours later, again, something is very wrong somewhere in this story, as the Judge has far more authority than any police department. A 1000 baht law student could have easily sorted this out for him, with your help on the outside. And while in IDC, he is complaining about the cost of coffee, when there are plenty incarcerated who can not even dream about drinking anything resembling coffee. Very strange story, much necessary information missing, methinks. -
Pretty well useless to all the readers of this post, as you did not mention WHERE. Please mention the place, as many of us have been looking for bivalent in Pattaya for some time now!

Well, I would like to know where this pharmacy is, because I don't seem to be welcome at most of them, until I open my wallet.

Drinking "loads" of water and only peeing twice in a 24 hour period is not normal. IMO, you were sick, now you're better! But in any case, go ask a doctor, please.

How do they know that when you get paid, you will vote for that party?

Well done, firefighters/rescue workers! Happy to hear she's ok!

There is an app called EATIGO here in Thailand, where you can get discounts of up to 50% at even five star hotels, which brings their prices down to a fast food level, for great food!
-
The post is about monthly expenses, friend.

Well, it's kind of a courses for horses type situ, I generalized, based on personal experiences in Thailand, 1000 dollars gets you a place to watch the world go by, 2000 dollars gets you to occasionally be a part of the play, and 3000 dollars gets you to an active participant in all that Thai life offers you, and believe me, it's really wonderful!
-
Nah, you just bend it to whatever position you prefer. Far better than having one just lying down on the job IMO.
-
I would struggle at less than 40,000 a month. OP, regarding your age, a trip to India to have some "rods" inserted is less than $3000 all in. Stays hard all the time, your girlfriend(s) will love you!

I just can not find ANY information on IF the new Bivalent Vaccine is available in Pattaya, or where? If not, then if anybody can point me to somewhere in Bangkok that has it? Thank You!

Sorry if it's been posted, but I'm looking for an airconditioned bars in Pattaya (to escape this gruelling heat). Prefer reasonably priced, i.e. not at five star hotels please. With music, and live band would be even better! Any suggestions will be most appreciated.

You seem to be quite the selfish and uncaring of other's suffering, type of person. The WHOLE reason for bad reviews is for other travellers (like yourself) being able to avoid nasty experiences after paying good money. Perhaps if you had read reviews about the "dives" that you've stayed in, you could have had a better experience at a better place!

Best post I've read all year!

Exploring the cost of living for retirees in Thailand
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This post can be answered very easily, for all parts of Thailand: $1000 a month for a reasonable existence (going out only once or twice a week). $2000 a month for a comfortable lifestyle. $3000 for a fairly luxurious life. Above amounts include everything for one foreigner, (and perhaps a girlfriend who also has a job), EXCEPT medical insurance (for which an older person really requires to self finance). -
Accelerating melt of ice sheets now 'unmistakable'
CanadaSam replied to onthedarkside's topic in World News
If any of the people denying climate change and the disastrous consequences of it for future generations have children, I weep for your kids. -

It's a para-glider! Which means he should have been able to glide to a spot of his choosing. I would think that something much more serious went wrong, perhaps a heart attack or similar, to prevent him from taking measures to save his life. The drowning theory also holds merit, being unable to get out from underneath the thing when he hit water.

45 day visa exemption still available?
CanadaSam replied to csaba81's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No, it's now 30 days visa exemption and 30 days additional for 1900 baht. Following that, a border run for another 30 + 30 cost under $100. -
Foreign army veteran rescued after Songkran water gun exacerbates PTSD
CanadaSam replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I doubt if being a boy scout can qualify as a "soldier", and I sincerely hope you get an opportunity to be a real "vet" after having killed tens or hundreds of human beings, and watching countless comrades being maimed or killed next to you. Then I would like your "opinion" on PTSD.
