A clash of culture maybe. Satire helps. (Insert your Western country here) image as a sun-soaked haven was marred once again after a pair of Arab tourists were caught sunbathing completely covered up on the Riviera, sparking outrage among locals. The incident, occurring today, has intensified demands for stricter measures against unruly Arabic tourist conduct as the fully covered escapade unfolded before bewildered onlookers and involved police intervention. The couple, identified as Ms Aaliyah, 27, and Ms Fatima, 24, stunned passers-by when they were spotted standing unabashedly covered head to foot in Burqas on a public road, seemingly heedless of traffic. Their audacious display prompted locals to notify authorities, who engaged police forces that soon arrived to confront the brazen tourists.

The COVID Scamdemic and its link to 'Scientism'
Purdey replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Covid/Vaccine
Why trust the science? If you have a PhD in a related science, you could easily contradict the majority opinion. The problem is, Facebook doesn't count as a scientific reference. The pseudonymous Doctor Simon says that he is a scientist. Even if true, he is a lonely voice railing against thousands of other scientists. I have only the experience of being vaccinated against all childhood diseases and Covid and never been sick. Should we agree with people who propose that vaccines don't work if our experience is that they do? -

If only Farage would stop flying to the U.S. and try visiting his constituents at Clacton-on-Sea more often he might be more electable. As it is, he could lose is seat at the next election. -
Just goes to show not everyone wants the right to lead them. A free country can choose what they want.

Is Trump the most corrupt US president in history?
Purdey replied to spidermike007's topic in Political Soapbox
Andrew Jackson was the pioneer of the corrupt ‘spoils system’ under which government officials were hired not on merit but on what they had done for the incoming administration. Since Jackson rewarded jobs to friends, donors, business associates, and friendly newspaper editors, he failed to keep federal offices non-partisan, and led to a cavalcade of theft and corruption. Sounds familiar. -
Posters come in two types here. Type 1. Provide reasoned argument with data and references. No name-calling or otherwise childish behavior. Type 2. No reasoning just name-calling and derogatory personal attacks. Incapable of using Google to find the facts in defense of the position. So, everyone in type one.

Trump’s Decision on Ukraine Negotiations Expected This Week, Rubio Says
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
All I remember is someone saying "promises made, promises kept." However I doubt the principle of negotiation is to give away your assets to appease an invader. Sudetenland for instance. -

I suppose green energy will enable long term energy supply. Just needs batteries (not included) for night time use. -
British Billionaire Brothers Relocate to Monaco Amid UK Wealth Exodus
Purdey replied to Social Media's topic in World News
No one can blame anyone for moving home if that person wants to. Don't like the British weather? Move to Thailand. Don't like British taxes? Move to France. Was it the 70s when Elton John, the Rolling Stones and others moved abroad due to high taxes? The tax rate went down a few years later. -
I admit to being shocked. So this seems to mean that people spend their income without saving a penny, banking on a Pension when they retire. A pension that everyone says is ridiculously low. Could someone explain? I admit that as someone who has never been entitled to a pension I don't understand why people would rely on a pension only. I am sincerely interested in whether people do save and I have misunderstood something.

Xi Jinping is not satisfied with winning the trade war

Just 14.7% of Chinese exports go to the US. Now besides banning the import of Boeing airplanes the Chinese stopped importing US pork. -
"Woke is an adjective derived from African-American English used since the 1930s or earlier to refer to awareness of racial prejudice and discrimination." Seems sensible in that context. Misappropriated by others when used ironically by the right wing to ridicule perceived left-wing "social justice warriors" and "snowflakes", in connection with mockery of Millennials and Gen Z."
