  1. There are a lot of Iranian people who are against the theocracy there. Nuclear weapons would not discriminate. Iranians are not Arabic, so the Arab nations are hardly sympathetic, but I don't think anyone would appreciate a nuclear attack in the region. Israel would be better off specifically targeting the Iranian government and military leaders.
  2. Perhaps a bit more analysis about why migrants pass through most of the EU to cross over into the UK is justified. Why are countries like France not the first choice? Why is it the UK is soo attractive?
  3. Thanks. But I guess there is no supreme court that is elected by the people?
  4. As most on here use a pseudonym, I wouldn't be surprised if there are some females who have their own reasons for not declaring themselves.
  5. If I remember correctly, talking to someone from Thai Union several years ago, they put policies in place to avoid negative publicity and their major overseas investors asking them some serious questions. I don't think they expected to go to prison however.
  6. Maybe someone else knows the answer but I can't think of a country that elects their Supreme Court, as in the whole country voting for the judges. Please explain what she means.
  7. A kid with a gun would have killed/injured many more. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_of_Australia
  8. Mind you, Thai government websites don't have a good track record...
  9. When you know you will lose the next election just pile on the debt and point at the next government's incompetence
  10. The French will be able to push the boats out towards England a bit faster.
  11. Seems the boom of Chinese companies in Thailand is proving to be not the great idea it was first thought to be. Now that e-waste recycling had been seen as a danger in China they come here to poison the Thais.
  12. Wattana Church is at the top of Sukhumvit Soi 19, parallel to Asoke road.
  13. I once asked a government official why there was so much plastic on Mae Ramphueng Beach in Rayong. He said that while the municipality put trash cans every 50 meters next to the road, Thais didn't want to walk from the beach to the road to dump their trash. The beach is not owned by the municipality but the state, so they were not allowed to put waste bins there as it "would look ugly". By the way, people don't "recycle waste" as it requires technology, which not even the Thai government has considered investing in.
  14. ... And we will set up a completely safe nuclear power plant that no one should worry about. Trust us.
  15. When the baht plummets to 50 to the dollar call an election and let Future Forward take the blame.
  16. No real definition of what "high quality" tourism means. Is it about wealth or politeness or what?
  17. Just another normal hot season in Thailand. 🫢
  18. I don't think the index actually measures general criminality, but as it says in the title, organized crime, such as gangs and mafia-style syndicates. That explains why the amount of daily crime faced by expats is not inordinately high.
  19. I am surprised that Thailand does not have a naturist beach, seeing as they bend over backwards to attract more visitors. 😁
  20. They didn't mention that most Thai partners are paid for the evening in cash.
  21. Maybank needs to look at the revenue from gambling (and alcohol) in its own Muslim backyard. Illegal betting syndicates now take a big chunk of the legitimate businesses away and cause the government to lose some RM3 billion (S$980 million) in tax revenue annually. It is a gamble that the government cannot win.
  22. I thought it was hundreds of years? Maybe he means since the founding of the communist state.
