When has history been on the correct side of censorship?
nobodysfriend replied to dhupverg's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
'Fake News ' and fake infos that incite hatred and , with that , facilitate criminal and sometimes violent actions towards other less informed or naive people , should not be available to everybody . It can cause a lot of damage . Sorry , but it depends on the kind of information . Potentially harmful and untrue infos should be filtered out , for the sake of peace . -

The Forum changes ... but some old remaining members stay the same and now have to adapt to a new system that is based on the quantity of posts given ... the most active posters get the highest ranks , no matter the quality of their posts ...? That is , sorry , ridiculous . Quantity over Quality . Another Rat Race about who gets the most ' likes ' ? Progress turns out to be worse than before , again , regrettable ... -

Mongkolkit Shows Up At Hospital But Barred From Visiting Thaksin
nobodysfriend replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
May be it's not really Thaksin at the hospital .. it might be just a clone who does the time for him . 55 ... Real Thaksin is at his home , a long time already . That would explain why he is rarely seen ... -
Is it just the Thai way or am I missing something
nobodysfriend replied to jwest10's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think the Op is talking about missing " politeness " in Thailand . Apart from the ' wai ' accompanied with a ( fake ) smile , there is not much about this in ' new ' Thai culture . Mai pen rai , it is not essential . -

I do not like that . It looks like a part of a " Rat Race " . But , finally , I do not care ... Emojis should not be anonymous . Just as it was before . There should be a ' dislike ' emoji as well . We do not want to drown in hypocrisy , do we ...? -
Somebody who has everything he or she really needs should be considered rich enough . ( to live a happy life . ) Everything more than this is a kind of luxury that should be taxed away for the benefit of a healthy sustainable society . Tired to hear about the excesses of billionaires who already own so much more than they ever can spend . If that excess money would be used to solve all the environmental ( too late already ...? ) and societal problems , the world would be a happier place . Capitalism ok , but reduced to a sustainable level .

The Myanmar government is supported by 2 great allies , China and Russia . I hope it falls ( fails ) as soon as possible , but it might be a bit early to prepare for what happens after the rebel's victory . If there would be a revolution from inside the army , the ugly Mr. Hling monster would not last long . But he commands his army with an ' iron fist ' , deserting soldiers will be tortured or executed . China and Russia both see a geopolitical ( and financial ) advantage in supporting the junta .

Evil man , read : https://www.change.org/p/burmese-remove-min-aung-hlaing-and-investigate-military-financials Myanmar’s military leader Min Aung Hlaing has been accused before the International Criminal Court (ICC) of committing crimes against humanity for overseeing, as army chief, a deadly crackdown on protesters and activists opposed to the February 1 coup. In a submission on Friday, the Myanmar Accountability Project (MAP) urged The Hague tribunal to open a criminal investigation “into the widespread and systematic use of torture as part of the violent crackdown against the protest movement” in the Southeast Asian country. https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/12/10/myanmar-democracy-in-new-era-as-suu-kyi-sidelined-by-army

Thais trapped in Myanmar are safe : government spokesman
nobodysfriend replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
https://www.change.org/p/burmese-remove-min-aung-hlaing-and-investigate-military-financial interesting read ... Since 2019, scrutiny of Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and the Myanmar military’s economic interests has increased, after the UN Fact-Finding Mission published a report that implicated military-owned businesses in genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Furthermore, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing is at the center of international efforts for accountability for the crime of genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. The people of Myanmar and the rank-and-file of the military continue to suffer from the rampant corruption and systemic conflict of interest under Senior General Min Aung Hlaing’s leadership. Public assets stolen by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his family must be returned to the people. Without action from a democratically elected government, there is a high risk that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will try to hang onto power as Commander-in-Chief and use it to continue to amass wealth through military conglomerates and his family businesses, while the majority of the people of Myanmar and the rank-and-file of the military live in poverty. complain about Thailand and it's corruption ...? It is nothing compared to Myanmar . Min Aung Hlaing is pure evil . -

https://www.un.org/womenwatch/osagi/pdf/whatissh.pdf The EEOC has defined sexual harassment in its guidelines as: Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when: • Submission to such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly a term or condition of an individual's employment, or • Submission to or rejection of such conduct by an individual is used as a basis for employment decisions affecting such individual, or • Such conduct has the purpose or effect of unreasonably interfering with an individual's work performance or creating an intimidating, hostile, or offensive working environment. Unwelcome Behavior is the critical word. Unwelcome does not mean "involuntary." A victim may consent or agree to certain conduct and actively participate in it even though it is offensive and objectionable. Therefore, sexual conduct is unwelcome whenever the person subjected to it considers it unwelcome. Whether the person in fact welcomed a request for a date, sex-oriented comment, or joke depends on all the circumstances. Sexual harassment claims are easy to make and sometimes used to discredit the accused person . It should be proven by evidence or witnesses , otherwise it can destroy a political career or ,even the life of the accused person .
