  1. " The arrivals included 32 Thai nationals and 11 others of various nationalities ..." That day will be declared a huge success . I guess the TAT has already figured out how many millions they will spend ...
  2. So , the majority of Thais prefer to live in a locked down country without any foreign interference , and without entertainment or alcohol consumption ? I doubt that . Where in Bangkok did did they make this poll ? Anyway , I think they do not need to worry too much ....
  3. Another thing that can help you to focus on what is really important in life is Astronomy (NOT Astrology ) . We are so small and unimportant in Universe ... it is just ridiculous to give too much importance to what other people say . That's a big field to harvest , but it definitely can provide clues to what really is important . I receive daily news from orbit ( no joke ) from http://spaceref.com/ Spaceref is for users that are a little advanced in Astronomy , but you'll find the basics in the web ...
  4. May be , but most of the times it makes you become more relaxed and more focused on what really matters ... try a little bit first , it won't harm you or make you an addict ...
  5. In the future , EV's will be for city transport , fuel cell for long trips .
  6. Get some ganja and make yourself a tea ... You will be surprised how this helps to see things more positive .
  7. Really need to control further growth of the human population on this planet . Not enough resources to feed them all . Climate change will make harvests worse . Overpopulation ( and greed ) causes massive destruction of natural systems . Human population growth does not fit in Darwins theory of evolution of species any more . There is no selection any more to who can reproduce . It is not the ' survival of the fittest ' any more . Most kids are produced by poor and uneducated people who just do not know or care . Every possible solution to this problem ( birth control by sterilisation after having the first kid ) , need to be applied world-wide , and this will not happen in a divided world .
  8. Do some meditation , find the ' inner peace ' and just let things go if they not really personally affect you . You can't change the world , and , if you've found the inner peace , the world can't change you .
  9. Thanks for your post . But mother earth had already created a perfectly balanced environment ... large rivers had their ' overflow area , that became flooded only after a ( before ) regular rise in water levels ... until man came and changed all this ... In Munich , Germany , they changed the direction of the Isar river that passes the city . It did cost millions to do that , and it caused millions in damages due to inondations . By now , they demolished all that and put the Isar back to it's original way . It did cost millions again to do that , but the people of Munich now have a beautiful and natural zone with a lot of wildlife that lies within the city limits . Many times , it is better not to interfere in what took ages to naturally develop and just learn to live with it without the need of changing what mother earth designed and what was necessary for a balanced and protected environment ( ecosystem ) .
  10. The times , they are a changin ... What always was , will not always be ...
  11. Good post , but the link provides the usual blabla only like : " Depositors shall neither have concerns in, nor take part in, any process pertinent to insured deposits when an insured financial institution’s license is revoked. Reimbursement shall be made within a certain period of time. " Of course ... but , as you said , they have ( hopefully ) learned a lot from the last big crisis ... SCB , for example , is partially owned ( 25% ) by the one who's name cannot be mentioned ... and therefore well protected against bankruptcy ...
  12. If want to open up , open up completely . Limit the number of visitors to 1000 is just ridiculous .
  13. Alcoholics are people who have no problem with alcohol . But they have a problem without it .
  14. Most bars have a pool/snooker table . So , can they reopen ? Strange regulations ... the virus represents no danger anymore if a pool table is near ?
  15. Corruption everywhere . Clear sign of a third world country where the elite in power does not want even a discussion about their position and policies ... Many SEA countries seem to have a population that is easily manipulated . May be because of an education system that keeps the from criticising , as that might cause a loss of face to their leaders ...? Brainwashed from the beginning , they are educated to serve ...
  16. Electric energy can be converted to hydrogen . Hydrogen is the best possible fuel for fuel cell powered trucks , as they can do the ' fill up ' at ( " petrol stations " ) that sell hydrogen ( in the future ) . Battery powered electric cars with a limited range are better for cities ...
  17. Adopt one . It will make you live longer and happier ... Allow a poor dog having a good time with a loving owner . You . They suffer in captivity as they will suffer when you die ... but , may be , you will not ... A dog's life often only means suffering , especially here in Thailand . Help and you get a reward ... by a loyal dog that loves you really and ' a long time ' . Help , even if it is for a short time only ...
  18. If you like to help and adopt a very poor dog , here are some adresses in Chiang Mai : https://www.carefordogs.org/en/ ( copy and paste ... ) https://www.carefordogs.org/en/adopt/ Check it out ... https://web.facebook.com/street.dog.rescue/?_rdc=1&_rdr ------ Facebook ----- And you have the " Santisook Dogs And Cats Rescue " as well ... Or this : https://web.facebook.com/groups/741491489278593/?_rdc=1&_rdr
  19. If that is true , there is no reason to not allow alcohol consumption in Pattaya ... Just imagine that they find out that drunken people will not become infected so easily by Covid .... everybody has to be drunk all the times then ... 55 Anyway , I do not see any direct relation between alcohol consumption and Covid infections yet . It is just the gathering and talking together that favors the spread ... but is that any different from having a meal together in a restaurant ? That is pure hypocrisy . Having a drink in a bar is prohibited , but having one together with a meal in a restaurant is allowed ?
