You either obtain the non O in USA (eVisa) OR enter visa exempt and obtain the non O at local immigration office. Given the error with sending the funds to wife's account in Thailand you may be best off to use an agent to open a bank account in Thailand. Not difficult. On the other hand if you can replenish the required funds in your USA bank account then do that and obtain the Non O in the states

As pointed out above, you do NOT need a return flight. Any onward flight within 60 days is fine. This onward flight MAY be required by airline to issue boarding pass at departure. Two options to obtain onward flight is buy cheapest flight out of Thailand OR use rent a ticket. One company is "onwardticket.com" Discussed in this thread https://aseannow.com/topic/1318022-do-you-really-need-an-onward-flight/ If you obtain the eVisa in USA you will not need an onward flight. Only required (maybe) if flying to Thailand visa exempt. What is the money situation? Can you show the funds in your USA bank account. I realize you (by error) transferred money to wife's account.

K bank E-mail with Tax Forms attached ?
DrJack54 replied to offset's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
Not about to read the 8 pages however have couple of questions if someone can advise. 1. Why just Kasikorn customers (at this point) 2. I trashed the email as soon as I opened it since to me (on face value) seemed a scam. 3. Can you deal with bank directly in person -
Read replies to Op.. That requirement will be highly unlikely. If it is then choose another option. Simple. Name ONE country that requires eVisa application fee to be paid in person at consulate/embassy

For heaven's sake. I overlooked stating that several months ago passport renewal across the board has greatly improved in recent times.. Oz pp renewal a year ago taking much longer than now. I then added ...... "Recent report of time for renew USA pp (can't find it) process times has come down from the thread attached." There was recent post USA passport process time has also improved. Just for once make a post that addresses OP helpfully.

I posted in another thread re meeting a young UK guy who had just returned to Thailand and while in UK obtained a DTV (took few days) He didn't take the soft (nonsense) options. He took the working online. Granted easy for him as he actually does work entirely online for UK company. Perhaps something you could look into down the track.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THAI EMBASSY VIENTIANE
DrJack54 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
100% would be removed even if not an error. Two reasons is one: Ridiculous requirement. And secondly it's not how payments for eVisa in other countries are made. -
Here is thread discussing process however does not address your specific question. https://aseannow.com/topic/1316179-american-passport-renewal-process/ I recently renewed Oz passport. Total 20 days online process. Recent report of time for renew USA pp (can't find it) process times has come down from the thread attached. I would sit tight and apply for the 30 days extension when pp has not arrived and you then realize need for more time

IMPORTANT NOTICE FROM THAI EMBASSY VIENTIANE
DrJack54 replied to CharlieH's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Also discussed in the article. Laotian Times: https://laotiantimes.com/2024/11/21/non-thai-nationals-in-laos-to-apply-for-e-visa-only-starting-from-january-2025/ -
Can't imagine that payment will be made (in person) to consulate. I'm obtaining an eVisa for Vietnam next week. The payment is made online. Can't see why the eVisa cannot be obtained while in Thailand. Obviously to activate the eVisa you need to exit Thailand and enter Laos and then enter Thailand to use the visa. I'm not aware of places that you can still obtain ME Non O based on retirement. So yep can imagine ME Non O marriage might follow suit. If over 50 you can do extensions based on retirement. Some of the "hate and abhor" might be partly due to immigration office. Which do you deal with? Agree, that I wouldn't like officials in my place.

First up don't think the application will take 10-15 days. More like 5. In any event can follow you want another non O visa. Unless you don't plan to remain in Thailand. Apart from that you could bounce to a land border and obtain 60 day visa exempt and obtain the non O at your Thai immigration office. You could have even applied for 12 month extension from your previous non O. Assume that you don't have the 400k seasoned for 2 months.

Some countries have/will be adopting eVisa. More and more countries adopting eVisa as the method to obtain visa for Thailand. https://aseannow.com/topic/1340074-thai-visa-shake-up-southeast-asia-consulates-switch-to-e-visa-only/ What are you currently on.. A non O based on marriage (90 day permission of stay?)
-
OP, you have correct answer above. Two weeks is fine, however the visa once issued will have an enter date till date. That means enter any time in that 3 month window and you will be stamped in for 90 days. Personally I would book the flight and few (2-3weeks) prior apply for the non O visa. Be aware that you have a fall back option. If visa unsuccessful (won't be) you enter Thailand visa exempt. Use agent to obtain bank account and then you obtain non O at local immigration office with minimum 15 days remaining on exempt entry stamp. (which office will you use?) With visa exempt currently 60 days you have plenty of time for the process.
-
You are not obtaining "visa on arrival" You are being granted visa exempt entry to Thailand on both entries. 60 day permission of stay stamp. Be aware that both entries to that flying visa exempt the airline at departure flight to Thailand may/will require onward flight within 60 days
-
The OP should step 1. File a police report. Here is copy paste from @Tod Daniels "𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗱𝘂𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁. Nope show up with the police report and the new passport when you stamp out, they'll look up your previous entry stamp, fine you 500 baht a day overstay fine and stamp you out of the country. 𝗪𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗳 𝗜 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗲𝘁𝗰 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁. In and of itself a couple week overstay shouldn't affect you getting back in but keep in mind the fact you lost the passport cuts no ice with them as far as whether you'll have issues entering or not. That is totally going to depend on your previous entry/stay history to thailand"

Some folk say terminology not important. This thread shows it is. The non O you obtained in Thailand gave a 90 day stamp. (it's used) You subsequently obtained a 12 month extension and purchased (separately) a multi reentry permit. Repeat what you did previously. Enter Thailand visa exempt and obtain a non O at your immigration office. 60 days later with funds having been in bank for 2 months obtain a 12 month extension. For the non O application don't be concerned that funds need to be shown as coming from abroad. Your funds have been in Thai bank account for some time and that requirement should be waived. OR.... Obtain a non O retirement in the UK. Best option
