Vientiane scheduling website down?
e-Visa applications are approved via confirmation email. You print out hard copy and enter Thailand showing that to immigration.

90-day report must be in person after each re-entry?
Assume you used auto fill with the magnifying glass. Still have a week till due date? Submit another online report. If no success then attend immigration. Fortran 1V (that Thailand uses) has its limitations

Unannounced visit of immigration at home
No.

I have booked flight for DMK only to realize afterwards how picky immigration became lately
You were exiting Thailand to fly to Vietnam. Assume you had no visa for Vietnam? If that's the case you could be asked for onward flight. Surprising the airline did not ask for onward flight for flught Da Nang to BKK.

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
Really going off topic to immigration rules in general. There are many examples were one needs to kill of connection to visa. Most common one since introducing insurance requirement for extensions from a Non O-A..... Folk excited without rentry permit in order to "start over" and obtain a Non O Be careful what you wish for comes to mind. Make annual extensions include multi entry then take 6k to immigration for the new fee up from 1900.

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
No. You would need to kill off Non O status in order to apply for DTV which is a "special" Tourist Visa category. You cannot change the reason (basis)

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
And how would you "kill off" Your permission of stay if for example you wanted to change from annual extensions to eg DTV

Requirements for opening bank account at Krungsri

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
All countries have their own policies. There are nice options for long term stay in various places eg Cambodia, Vietnam, Philippines etc. Cleary many opt to live in Thailand.

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
Don't follow. Perhaps you could look into obtaing a visa for Vietnam. They are offered in single and multiple flavours. Thailand does not offer Non O multi entry one year visas anymore.

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
One issue not mentioned is eg those that want to kill off their permission of stay permit. For example I currently have an extension however no reentry permit. If I wished to obtain eg DTV, I could exist Thailand without reentry permit. Could then apply for new Visa (DTV) If the extension was a multi entry then no way to kill off the extension prior to expiry.

Re-entry permit: what's the logic behind it?
One could suggest that the 12 month extension should be 5700b which in fact it is for those that buy a reentry permit at same time as extension. 1900 + 3800. If it was a fixed 5700b which included multiple entry then people would complain that they never exit and reenter so why need a multi entry. I'm surprised the 12 month extension is only 1900b Thinking folk more hopeful that the TM30 and TM47 rubbish would someday be put in the bin (where it belongs) Suits zero purpose.

Has anyone used Friendly Thai Visa’s airport safe entry service? Only real experiences plz
Recent report (assume true) refused entry at BKK flown back to Phu Quoc then flew to BKk following day. Has the Red denied entry stamp. No issues. Cost 8k Where as the run of the mill (many visa exempt entries) Perhaps 4-5k Edit: I notice that denied entry account was outlined earlier in this thread.

That's not true. To use the agent for "safe entry" you need to send copy of pp pages so the cost of assistance can be worked out. Things such as previous ED visa or refused entry stamp etc can make the service more expensive

Border run by air
No. Visas are applied for via the eVisa platform. You need to be in the country where the application is being made. Note in Laos you need to attend embassy for payment. There is currently no online payment option.

Requirements to change from non O married to non O retirement
OP, two spot on posts above. @Sophon is correct in that your wife will need to attend for change for extension based on marriage to retirement. For subsequent extensions she is not required to attend. @BrandonJT has covered all your points. I also have no idea what point 4 is about. Just attend same immigration office as previously. The requirements for extensions (retirement) are very straight forward. If you can maintain the 800k all year round then that's a good plan. A 12 month bank statement for each subsequent extension is a good idea.

Proof of residence requirements
Old thread however first reply has clear list. As usual with immigration take along the kitchen sink. https://aseannow.com/topic/1204090-apply-for-certificate-of-residence-at-jomtien/

2nd Bank Account?
Think that's pretty much as I suggested. Thanks for the update. Now you can relax
-
90days by mail - wait 30 days?
Good question. I have always understood it to be 30 days after due date and not 30 from date you posted the report to immigration.
-
2nd Bank Account?
Indeed most banks will allow more than one savings account with same account owner.

TM30 Required Still ?
Won't bother to correct all your posts. Too much work.

BKK Bank 4 months banked method??
I can see your point and makes sense. It's just what BBL is doing is madness imo. I wouldn't want anything to do with them
-
BKK Bank 4 months banked method??
I'm sure they won't. Please update forum with how you go with Kasikorn. When funds all set up with K bank go and tell BBL to....
-
BKK Bank 4 months banked method??
The good thing is you have time. Assumed that was not the case. Some others have upcoming extension and don't have your option available. Just one person's opinion... I would ditch BBL account ASAP. Even more so for you given you have a Kasikorn account in place.
