Never read of that previously. I thought it was more the io just noting the witness Thai ID etc. Certainly not pics inside house with witness. I'm not married so my extensions need to be based on retirement. Point is even if I was married I would opt for extensions based on retirement. The home visit would be a deal breaker for me. Some might laugh at that comment but I'm not about to sit on the edge of the bed for a pic. Yes I'm aware some visits the io, s don't even come inside.

Well first up this whole gig by BBL seems on the surface to be weird. I mean is it even legal? As for your example, I can't imagine how they could freeze your account and not allow you go close it and receive your money. Of course you would then have no bank account. Banana Republic springs to mind.

How would you obtain the 12 month extension. The bank letter is one requirement. Immigration would want to see the bank book. Also update on day of application.

Agents can obtain extensions up to 3 months early. Not applicable to the OP.

This attached thread has posts re home visits where Line Video call was used. Also info about witnesses requirements. Re Kasikorn transfers.. I don't use app. Just now tgf transferred 100k from my Kasikorn to her K Bank using ATM in our building. No issue.

Absolutely nothing to do with my post. I pointed out that anyone who closes a bank account make sure to keep the cancelled bank book. Nothing to do with opening a new bank account.

In that case you should be able to open a bank account with your passport showing 12 month extension. A proof of address would be useful, such as Lease etc. If the Bank directs you to obtain a COR suggest that other address proof is available eg your other bank account your TDL etc

Yeah I checked it out. Small branch in a shopping mall. One good review (2 weeks old) USA guy opened an account. Married to a Thai. Went during the week and had to return following Sat. Mentioned the issue with BBL which does not apply at Kasikorn. In hindsight a much bigger branch like the ones you find in eg Sukhumvit would have been better option.

You currently have a Non O or 12 month extension? Which Thai bank account do you currently have?

This is true for extensions retirement using funds in bank method however not of use to income method where there is often minimal balance maintained.
