  1. Best example today of most irrelevant post. The OP did not ask about use of agents not to mention advice to ignore 90 day reporting. Your post is off topic.
  2. You can enter visa exempt= 30 days. You can extend that by 30. You can extend that by "60 days to visit wife" Many other combinations to cover your stay. Note: your Thai wife needs to enter on her Thai pp and not UK
  3. Jomitien is a weird office in regards to this process. They want 800k for 2 months prior to application for the Non O. In reality the rule is 800k on day of application. For the 12 month extension they want 2 months seasoning.
  4. You are fine. Use the 800k in your savings account to obtain the non O. After that open the FD with same bank. Transfer funds to FD . For your extension application the money only needs to be in bank for 2 months so your plan has zero issues
  5. I am doing exactly the same thing. I have different plan. My last extension Nov 2023 using money in bank. At same time I started monthly transfers. When attend immigration the coming Nov I will present money in bank method for current extension and show 12 months of transfers for my next extension. Being Oz, no embassy income letter available. Chat with your immigration office for confirmation
  6. To be clear. You have a Thai bank savings account. So currently you do not have a Non O? The 800k only needs to be in bank account on day of application. Just go to your bank and open an FD a/c. Ask them to transfer the required funds into the FD account from savings a/c. Tip: do not close the savings account as is very handy
  7. Assume you qualify for 30 day visa exempt entry. That entry can be extended by 30 days at immigration office. Leaving a day late most likely no fine for one day. Any longer it's 500b per day. Either way an overstay stay goes into pp https://aseannow.com/topic/1263847-one-day-overstay/
  8. Yes for example Australian Thai embassy requires health insurance for Non O retirement. This link Thai consulate LA does not mention insurance requirement. The link also has link to application. https://thaiconsulatela.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/non-immigrant-type-o-retirement Hopefully someone that has done it recently can confirm. From your OP it seems your friend will be dealing with Jomitien immigration office hence the reason for obtaining the non O in home country.
  9. Not quite sure what you are asking. This is what I do for banking requirements. Easy at CW as the banks are on lower level. Don't go to teller. Sit with one of the clerks that do general business. They know what you need. I have FD a/c and also Saving a/c. I side over FD book with 1000b and Savings book with 100b. That's the deposits. Also ask clerk to photocopy this last page of bank books to show the transactions. Also slide over 100b for bank letter. They put both accounts on the one letter. It's simply proof that you are sole owner of the account and the balance.
  10. Only in America. Can't he claim that he is a Sovereign citizen Or probable cause or the 5th or whatever
  11. OP, which province do you live in. You require a certificate of residence in most. Also depending where you live requirements vary. eg need for appointment etc.
  12. I just checked Skyscanner. (obviously I have time on hands) 32k baht one way with 3 stops. Why don't folk do this more often. Back to real world...a TM30 from a stay in hotel will work. Check with hotel they can give you screenshot of TM30 being done.
  13. OP, forget the Non O-A. You can enter Thailand visa exempt and since you have Thai bank account you can obtain Non O based on retirement. No insurance required. The Non O provides a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days of that you obtain a 12 month extension. Then every year renew that extension. Many threads on this. As for cost: The visa exempt entry (free) Non O (2000b) Extension (1900b) https://aseannow.com/topic/1311886-visa-exempt-to-retirement-extension-process-and-cost/ https://aseannow.com/topic/1315993-o-retirement-visa-still-no-insurance-requirement/
  14. A reentry permit will protect the 90 day stamp. Good to go
  15. As usual very good observation. For all we know PE visa company has a quota with immigration. As a result has a target market. In any event the OP has not indicated that PE visa would be remotely a good fit. BTW: welcome back @BritTim
  16. To the usual suspects...the thread was never about access to fast lane. From the OP... "Are the immigration officials friendlier at the fast track counters? " Seems the OP has had many stays in Thailand and asking if fast tract is a soft entry. Answer No. I mentioned very early that some visa agents provide a meet and great service. Thinking it's pitched at visa exempt entries with extensive history.
  17. Non O. Cannot enter Thailand visa exempt and piggyback on husbands extension https://aseannow.com/topic/1245491-dependant-spouse-with-extension-to-stay-based-on-retirement/
