  1. Stop. You are wrong. Also re your posts "COR 2" Google COR 2 Thailand and see how that works for you. While at it google "LOR Thailand" and see how that works out. Then google COR Thailand. Pic attached of AseanNow threads. Many more. I posted link to a thread earlier. You are confused.
  2. Certainly an option however marriage to Thai could change things depending on when the date to marry. You can change from visa exempt entry to non O marriage in Thailand at any time.
  3. No. Have a read of attached thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1316076-kor-ror-2-for-non-o-marriage-extension/ The vast majority of web sites, forum posts etc refer to "certificate of residence" Not to be confused with similar doc for farang in Thailand with Permanent Resident status"
  4. Not in my book. When you enter on a tourist visa and stamped in for 60 days your "visa" is gone (used). You have a "permit" a permission of stay. Currently for visa exempt entry that will be 60 days and a reentry permit can protect that permission of stay
  5. If eventually living in Thailand married to Thai national then in future you could consider a non O based on marriage with subsequent annual extensions. Assume you are under 50
  6. In that case METV would seem to best option. Think it's 5k baht (someone will correct that if incorrect) Marriage to a Thai?
  7. From thread regarding this .. @BritTim posted. "A re-entry permit can be used to protect any permission to stay. While uncommon, this includes a visa exempt entry and, on rare occasions, may make sense."
  8. That is correct. My reason for asking is that your travel pattern is very unusual in that the visits so short. Even moreso that you are based in UK. METV must be applied for in your passport country or where you have permanent resident status. Suggest that you stick with visa exempt entries. What have you been doing to cover onward flight for visa exempt entry often required by airline at departure. Good point by @Liquorice. If you are having repeat visits within 60 days then a reentry permit can allow that. Available at airport on day of departure 1000b single reentry
  9. Where would you obtain the METV if you opt for that. Using visa exempt history and short stays in Thailand suggest no issue to continue with visa exempt entries
  10. As long as you are doing over 65k then fine. Few months ago my transfers using from AU to Thailand were 120k baht that was 5k aud. That same 5k aud is now land as 110k baht. It's not expected to be consistent amount due to exchange rates
  11. Here is my experience June 2024 I did my renewal TDL on Wednesday of this week at Chatuchak transport office. Enter the building immediately turn right an past those doors press ticket machine select foreigner. You are seen very quickly. Note this visit is just to make the appointment. I was offered various time for the next day and selected 9am the following day. To make appointment you need the following. 1. Thai drivers license (mine was expired 3 moths previous. That is no problem. 2. Certificate of residency 3. Medical certificate. Note there is a clinic that does this specific service at entry of land/transport complex. 150b 4. Basic copies from pp. Photo page. Most recent entry stamp. I also provided reentry permit page. Page with your visa. In my case that was first page of my current pp where the visa info. 5. Passport. Note: You do not need to do the online eLearning course that provides q code. They clip the pages together and a coloured ticket with a stamp. That's it. Simple. So the next day (yesterday) I was back again for the test. You go into same office obtain ticket (same as bank system) Short wait. They give you que number. You then follow counter instructions to where you hand over your papers where they are checked again. Then follow instructions to area where you watch short video. It's purely instructions for the "physical/eye test" Test is very basic. Colour test etc After that back to where instructed to have pic and actual TDL card. 505baht.(Lady would not accept tip) Zero need for an agent. You still need two trips. 12. He is talking from experience in recently obtaining non O in Oz for Thailand via newly added eVisa option in AU. No reason to suggest it won't work fine in places such a Vietnam, Laos etc
  13. Some advice in this thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1321511-renew-driving-licence-department-of-land-transport-chatuchak-bkk/ Renewed my TDL last year at Chatuchak. I had to go in person to make appointment. Was able to make it for following day. There is a medical certificate joint just up from entry to land- Transport buildings. 200b You also require a COR.. Here is thread where I posted link to may for medical office. https://aseannow.com/topic/1303952-services-that-offer-assistance-with-getting-a-thai-drivers-license/
  14. First up don't worry that it's been 11 days. It will arrive. Don't be concerned about putting down another reason for the COR. The reason in not shown on the COR.. Old thread mentions 500b for same day process. https://aseannow.com/topic/956095-certificate-of-residence-chiang-mai/
  15. That's surely a joke. 100% returns. Granted for retirement tying up 800k basically all year round has an opportunity cost associated to it. In the case of extensions based on marriage the funds can be used after extension stamp issued. What did you live on for the 12 months. Surely more than 400k. To suggest that the pink card helps with back to back visa exempt entries is not correct. Opposite in fact.
  16. eVisa had it's teething problems early on as would be expected. Many reports of how much the system has been improved. eVisa for Thailand applied for in UK on example. I travel often to Vietnam and since eVisa is available for visa for Vietnam it's a breeze. Simple application takes 5 minutes tops. Visa issued within 5 days.
  17. Agree. Airport is breeze. Just to add at DMK the reentry permit office is just past passport control. Pic of BKK airport reentry permit desk. Left side Zone 2
  18. Excellent update @Tod Daniels Any idea if Laos eg Savannakhet etc will follow suit with eVisa
  19. The OP is implying that pink id is assisting ongoing living in Thailand using visa exempt entry+ 60 day to visit wife extension. Crazy. From the OP ... "I have been in Thailand for 15 out of the last 18 months on Visa Exempt plus Extensions ( including Family - Thai Wife ) plus Border bounces." What the....perhaps possible however moving forward. @FARANG KIWI what is plan for next 15 out of 18. What is point of your thread. Get a non O based on marriage+ annual extensions. Buy a multi reentry permit if needed.
  20. Clearly I'm not up to date with online window. Previously it was 2 weeks prior up to one week prior. Subsequently changed to 2 weeks prior and up to due date. Not aware that back to one week prior. For online reporting...if report approved then next due date will be from date of online submission. For reporting via mail the count starts from current due date.
  21. Spare a thought for extensions based on retirement. For married guys annual extension it's a sweet deal. Basically living in Thailand the 400k would sustain living (family) for few months as it can be used after stamp from under consideration period. Thinking OP is basically a nonsense.
  22. One of the most bizarre posts I have read in some time. You are married to a Thai and opt for this nonsense. Obtain a non O and subsequent 12 month extension. Only requires 400k in bank for couple of months and then you can use it. If anything the pink id would suggest that you have visa options.
  23. The guy you quoted was the opposite of insulting. He was being helpful. The OP needs to provide more detail. My guess is that he (may) be entering visa exempt and asking about a simple 30 day extension. However the details need to be outlined. If indeed my guess is correct then options such as agent including pick up and return of pp possible. Should also mention location.
