  1. The 180 is cumulative in any given calendar year irrespective of how many times you exit and reenter.
  2. Disagree. There is a process. For example farang passes and family in "home country" has Will that includes assets in Thailand. Emptying bank account etc in Thailand would be illegal It's even illegal without Will.
  3. He is right. For next extension based on retirement just have 800k in account 2 months prior to application. Note your wife will need to attend immigration office. For others thinking about this change ...is it purely less paperwork etc. The financials for extension marriage very easy compared to retirement
  4. Any condo apartment etc can do TM30 for guest. When they do that they receive a confirmation meaning a record of that. They can screenshot that record.. That's all you need
  5. You do not need to attend immigration when you border run etc however the apartment owner will/may need to provide you with updated TM30 Depends on immigration office and type of extensions you are living in Thailand. For those on eg visa exempt and looking to attend immigration for 30 day extension then immigration most likely require a TM30
  6. Then zero issue. You can ask for screenshot of TM30 filling. What you did is best practice. If they replied "do it yourself" then run Forest run
  7. Correct....however as per my post above. If owner/agent will not confirm them doing TM30 then move on to next apartment/condo.
  8. That is true however by way of example my Thai partner has condos and one townhouse. Currently we have 2 farang. They both require TM30 and in the case of one who is a teacher they require new TM30 every time they renew contract with school. Our letting agent takes care of that. Long winded reply but I urge any farang living in Thailand to clarify TM30 prior to signing lease/moving in
  9. You do not need to attend immigration. Prior to moving into new apartment you should have made clear to owner that they will do TM30 and provide you with record of that.
  10. https://aseannow.com/topic/1304309-proving-65k-monthly-transfers-from-abroad-when-using-wise/ Above link discusses WISE and obtaining "Credit Advice" from your bank
  11. Many threads in Finance, Banking forum. Here is just one example... https://aseannow.com/topic/1317531-800000-baht-account-after-i-die-can-the-partner-access-the-account/ Even more for those in de facto relationship (means nothing in Thailand) As I've mentioned elsewhere moving to income method instead of money in bank is one solution. Even moreso for folk on extensions retirement. Some of maintain 800k all year round. My partner has my card and pin. She could probably clean out my account after my passing and perhaps without repercussions. Is it legal= No
  12. He doesn't need a Thai wife. He can enter Thailand as a tourist and receive visa exempt stamp. It's only the airline at departure that may wish to see onward flight
  13. OP, just have proof of return/onward flight within 60 days. That may be required by airline at departure. That's it!
  14. transaction would need to be in November, you get a month to open a bank account. Why would the OP be unable to open a bank account within a month? In the interest of simplicity, Immigration has a tendency when referring to "income" to use the word pension, you are however perfectly free to believe that only those with a "pension" can use the income method. Please post ONE report of UK, USA, AU citizen being able to obtain 12 month extension based on retirement, for first or any extension using income method After all the OP is UK. Also some (not all) immigration offices are asking for proof of "income stream" and not accepting income from eg rents. Some offices don't care just wish to see monthly transfers. Consistent date is advised. In any event all irrelevant to the UK OP that does not even have a Thai bank account. You seem unaware of current difficulties in opening a Thai bank account. Would make it more easy if op obtained non O retirement in UK prior to entry.
  15. Third post in attached thread indicated no problem. https://aseannow.com/topic/1303235-multiple-entry-tourist-visa/ Even without return ticket from reports the eVisa application has been accepted with a non verified onward flight within first 2 months
  16. OP, you did not indicate how long Thai wife has lived in UK. When I first came to Thailand I read "you can take Thai lady out of Thailand but cannot take Thailand out of a Thai lady" Quite possible she missing Thailand and more so family. I live in Thailand for weather. No offense but you thinking she is happy with UK weather. If you are not able to live in Thailand ongoing due to age funds or whatever cut both your losses and kiss goodbye
  17. Your posts have a common theme regarding corruption. The one above has for example.. '"IF the corrupt faction took over that entry point" Referring to "corrupt faction" Stick to the thread topics. If land borders start requiring overnight stay (with option to avoid that with a "donation" then fine) Has been the situation for a long time at some land borders.
  18. Stopped reading at "IF" Was never a fan of Mel Gibson "Conspiracy theory" movie.
  19. This topic comes up often in finance, banking forum. Here is just one thread with some opinions. https://aseannow.com/topic/1317531-800000-baht-account-after-i-die-can-the-partner-access-the-account/ This is the reason why I'm changing from money in bank method to income method. Basically very little funds in my bank account. As soon a money transfer hits my account it goes out into partners account for living expenses.
  20. OP, no problem. Just exit. Have both pp. BTW your old pp is void but stamps remain valid. https://aseannow.com/topic/1329985-new-passport-how-to-leave-thailand/
  21. Your point? Insurance policy is major part of the fee that is paid to BBL
