  1. You didn't include Window 3. Transfer 65k+ per month from home country. Personally I use 800k+ all year round in bank and of course I require 100k+ per month to live on. My option is stupid. I should be using income method. Will switch at some point.
  2. Welcome to ignore. Will let someone else try and educate you. Try Google "opportunity cost" It's economics 101. Edit: I did it for you... "op·por·tu·ni·ty cost nounECONOMICS the loss of potential gain from other alternatives when one alternative is chosen. "idle cash balances represent an opportunity cost in terms of lost interest"
  3. As stated above. You are off topic and posting nonsense. For just one example....Myself. My beloved Thai partner of 10 years would have no access to the 800k in Thai bank account in my name only when I pass. Yes one can make a will but that also takes time. A solution is income method and the other is agent. Something I will do in future. Your simplistic approach of .... "It costs 1900b ..." is silly.
  4. The other option is to use monthly transfers . After all one does require money to live off. Another bonus of using agent or income method is that 800k not locked in a bank and difficult for Thai partner to access
  5. That's not the point that the OP referring to. It's the opportunity cost of having the 800k earning very little in Thai bank A/C vs Having that amount in much better investment. Most simple example having money in super fund in own country. Approx 8%
  6. Not much point of making an urgent trip to immigration. You will be fined 2k. If you have something coming up at immigration such as next extension etc you could leave it till then.
  7. Nup. You are referring to 90 report in person. The fine would be 2000b
  8. You are just making stuff up. I obtained the 5 year TDL from 2 yr TDL at Chatuchak in April. Could not have been more simple. Not one reason for an agent. I speak zero Thai. Office staff there very helpful It does (at that time) involve one trip to make appointment and next day attend for test. Guess what ...it's a 2 day process even with agent.
  9. Is your post serious! Granted can be difficult to open a Thai bank account with only a tourist visa. After bank account is opened the banking side of extensions is basically irrelevant. Actually I'm doing my extension next week at CW.. The banking aspect is child's play. Go to bank lower lever request "Bank Letter" 100b Make small deposit and ask them to photocopy photocopy last page of bank book. Bank Statements if needed 200b. Kasikorn can do it on the spot. Bangkok bank do not. Done! In my book Bangkok bank not best option now that more immigration offices are asking for Bank Statements. Seems to me that you know very little regarding extensions based on retirement. Walk in the park.
  10. The OP did not ask about agents. Rather he posted that he has obtained several "retirement extensions" he means extensions based on retirement. The OP would be well aware of option of using an agent. The peanut gallery of few posters seem to want to push personal preference of what suits them.
  11. You will need to have stamps, visa info transfered to new passport prior to applying for next extension. You can do it on same visit. TM30 shouldn't be required if returning to same residence as before
  12. The difference is the seasoning of the funds For Non O the funds only need to be in bank on day of application. For the extension funds required to have been in bank for 2 months prior to day of application. There is one immigration office that is doing their own thing and requiring 2 months prior to application for the Non O. That is Jomtien. There are also couple of offices refusing to process application for Non O from visa exempt entry using TM87. Best to check with your immigration office. You would have no issue at eg CW.
  13. OP, here is an old thread, however at least it is Oz specific. Your thread most likely will be moved to General discussion forum..
  14. The last post in this thread (Tonray) refers to having a witness come to immigration office. https://aseannow.com/topic/1245632-nonthaburi-immigration-hard-cases/
  15. Didn't you enter with a tourist visa? With a visa or reentry permit onward flight not required
  16. No problem. You most likely need to obtain bank statements for roof of funds as imagine there has not been activity in the account. Which immigration office? What method have you used to meet the financial requirements
  17. Not remotely funny. Which immigration office for you has been "flawless" Help the forum rather than post rubbish.
  18. It does not work perfectly. I made few online reports and process time varied by up to 15 days at CW and they were successful. My last two were rejected and forced to go in person. Even using autofill Tied of folk posting it's perfect!
  19. Exactly. This thread is in the stupid tread box. Myself and many others do 90 report 15 days prior to due date. Be that online or via mail option. Granted in person can be done 7 days post due date. Ridiculous thread.
  20. Indeed. Every time I do a copy-paste where last words are in enlarged and in BOLD font any type after that is same font. Not sure how to fix that.
