Non-O Based on Marriage to Retirement?
DrJack54 replied to ajs73's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Not possible as you would require 12 month of 65k transfers per month. You could exit Thailand prior to October 8 reenter Thailand visa exempt (border bounce) and apply for a non O retirement. Even if you could place 800k in Thai bank account doubt if you could obtain extension based on retirement with your existing non O based on marriage as your first extension would need to be based on marriage. You would need 800k+ on the day you apply. That gives you another 90 day stamp and in last 30 days obtain 12 month extension. For next extension you could changed to based on marriage. Can't afford that ? Use an agent. -

Visa for child support
DrJack54 replied to thairat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
800k is only required in bank for two months prior to application for extension. What balance do you currently have? EDIT: Here is post I just did in another thread...... "800k+ for two months prior to application for annual extension and 800k for the three months after application and not below 400k in other months." BTW. If you have not followed the financial requirements you cannot just change what the extension is based on. You would have to exit Thailand and obtain new non O based on support Thai child. Many would suggest Savannakhet. -

Clearly you missed first reply in the thread... From me. "No problem. Don't big noise it. " The rest of the 4 pages is wasted space. -

Chaeng Wattana or IT Square?
DrJack54 replied to steve0101's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I will be very surprised if that works. The thing is at LakSi the doc check chick will want to see a TM30. Most common for a 30 day extension will be screenshot from hotel in Bangkok. My guess is that you be told to go away come back another day. -

Passport expiring, reentry ok?

I posted earlier. Your issue will not be with Thai immigration on arrival. It would/could be with airline at departure. Your plan was poorly organized. The return flight to USA might satisfy airline at departure to Thailand.. -
I'm well aware of that. I was referring to OP situation. He would need to exit Thailand and obtain new non O retirement. Either at a nearby consulate of at Thai immigration office. My point was if he cannot come up with another 800k then homeland best option (or agent) For extensions the funds in bank are checked retrospectively. And yes immigration is VERY strick on that. Carefully scrutinized.. Few times you completely misunderstand my posts. Read carefully.

Another example of a thread that should be stopped in it's tracks. At very least moved to pub forum or general topics forum.. Scaremongering is best description.

To apply for 12 month extensions there must be 800k for two months prior to application and maintained for 3 months after application and not below 400k for remaining months. Folk using "money in the bank method" a good plan is to have a dedicated bank account for extensions. Also if not inconvenient maintain the 800k all year round. Most immigration offices allow you to apply for extension up to 30 days prior to expiry of current permission of stay. Some offices eg CW, CM etc allow applications up to 45 days early. When you first deposit the 800k for the Non O (retirement) application you would be advised to just leave it in the account..

Folk entering with a tourist visa attend CW and use form TM86. Those with visa exempt entry attend LakSi and use form TM87. The non O retirement requires 800k in Thai bank account on day of application. The non O stamp provides a 90 day stamp. In the last month with the 800k having been in bank for 2 months you can apply for 12 month extension. Obviously you require a Thai bank account.. Regarding visa exempt entry you could do a border bounce. Obtaining a non O retirement in Savannakhet is also an option. Also if more time is required you can obtain 30 day extension to entry stamp.. This thread has info and useful links to list of requirements also links to other threads.
