  1. Put 800k in bank and leave it there OR use an agent to avoid financials. Many USA folk on AseanNow have had no issue. Using monthly transfers or money in bank method.
  2. There are security firms to assist you when you take your pp to immigration for various reasons and to land office and for TDL .etc etc Along with some matters when dealing with banks... I'm sure police will give you time to provide passport if victim of crime on a one month stay on an island driving a car. Heaven forbid you are involved in a car accident requiring stay in hospital. The list goes on and on... Then we have folk posting about Virtual debit cards and pp not required at hotel check in. Can't be serious. My vote for most ridiculous thread in ages. However as the saying goes ...up to you.
  3. So you don't take your passport with you on a one month road trip. For some reason not surprised.
  4. I mean going to immigration office. Example Phuket, Pattaya etc. Not immigration at airports.
  5. Do a TM30 prior to attending immigration for any reason. In the mean time don't worry about it.
  6. Which immigration office. Just another crack pot immigration office/officer. Regardless the office is applying outdated rules that were changed in June 2020. BTW TM30 should not be required for extensions.
  7. No recent history to go on. In 2019 both airports had reports of refused entry. DMK prob the worst.
  8. You are correct. CW is right. CM is wrong. Be aware that also if you exit Thailand with a reentry permit upon your return you are not required to file a TM30
  9. I was incorrect. Brain fade. You need the 15 days if applying for a non O in Thailand. He is applying for extension. Can apply up till day of expiry. ???? Sorry
  10. Yes.....however. If the visa you are referring to is a non O retirement and you plan on obtaining a 12 month extension you would not have time to apply for extension. Immigration requires 15 days remaining. OP, do you actually have a visa or an extension with a reentry permit?
  11. The point is regarding the 800k in Thai bank it is eventually required for the extension even if you obtain the non O outside of Thailand. Another good thing about applying in Thailand at immigration is that if there is a small thing that needs to be provided you can attend to it.
  12. Makes perfect sense to me. Easy visual display of an entry and exit stamp side by side. Especially frequent flyers. Here is snap of random pp page. Makes sense.
  13. Agree. However..... My last extension retirement at CW young io clerk wanted to see one year bank statement as I had couple of months with no transactions (I use dedicated bank account). Never required previously. So they do like to play games.
  14. If requirements are met when is it not granted. You make it sound that the application goes to the parole board.
  15. "VERY REAL possibility...." Scaremongering at best. Why not go the whole hog and include extensions based on marriage.
  16. Don't understand one part of that. You are trying to discuss extensions based on retirement from a non O visa. Or a non O-A which is a visa valid for one year Or a multiple entry visa based in retirement. BTW no such thing as a retirement visa.
  17. Again with the access to money reference. That's minor. Geez .. Many other reasons to have your pp with you on one month road trip. Clearly on ignore for good reason.
  18. That's sort of irrelevant. You are clearly a tourist regardless of age.. If you were spending LOT of time in Thailand immigration might suggest a non O retirement more appropriate.
  19. So do you suggest OP goes on a one month road trip to an island driving a car Yes Or No without his passport . Simple question. . Let's see your level of awareness. To state pp not necessary is madness. Necessary meaning sensible option
  20. When were you last admitted to hospital and what did you provide for admission. Find your post inaccurate.
  21. So full of it . Do you recommend the OP take a one month road trip to an island with OR without his passport. That's a yes or no.
