Retirement Visa Rule Changes
DrJack54 replied to SailingHome's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
UK , USA and AU citizens can still use the 65k monthly income method. The catch is you need to show 12 month of monthly transfers prior to applying for extension. BTW: you stated the following.... "[the US embassy never provided such a service - at least in my memory]" USA embassy previously did supply "Affidavit " -
You also asked this strange question... "Also, don't I get a visit from the immigration ones in a while and need to be at that address? Please no trolls just real advice." Is that serious. If you live in Thailand ongoing on non O based on marriage you will need to apply every year for a 12 month extension and yes that often requires a home visit. Also neighbors to verify. Seriously have you lived in Thailand previously. My guess ..Not

Such a naive post you will receive much criticism. For starters to live ongoing in Thailand even married to Thai national you will require annual extensions. That also has financial requirements. Also in many immigration offices home visit at time of extension. Just imo you are not suited to village life given such ridiculous comparison to India.

Yes you can do another border bounce for 30 day visa exempt entry. OR You can apply for extension at immigration office in Thailand which will be refused and you will be given 7 days (it's not an extension) to exit Thailand. 1900B OR You can overstay by 7 days and pay fine at airport 3500b. Not best option

Non-Immigration O visa from Australia
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't understand what you mean by "switching" You must currently be in Oz to be applying for a non O-A. Not best option imo. Any ongoing extensions will require insurance. I'm pretty sure insurance is not required from non O obtained in Oz even if it appears on embassy website. In 2021 consulates were requiring 3 months of insurance for non O retirement If you have a Thai bank account you could have transferred the funds and obtained the non O in Thailand and met the (incorrect) 2 month seasoning that Jomtien requires for non O retirement application. -
That's your experience.... From another poster earlier.... 'I reiterate, My experience is on metv i have been told by two seperate people at jomtien that no need to do tm30 after border run" Everyone should be aware of their own io cute individual rules. Samut Prakan is a other office not following correct (up-to-date) rules. You quoted me earlier and opened with this...... "Absolutely wrong info here." My information was correct. I'm not concerned about random experiences such as your posts.

90 day non immigrant visa information request
DrJack54 replied to Hannon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Enter visa exempt and obtain a 30 day extension if required. 30+30 -
Second Non-o 90 days visa.
DrJack54 replied to Faeton's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is possible. -
You require an appointment for Saigon Thai consulate. All your paperwork needs to be in order. Cheap flights from Bangkok to Saigon and good bus from airport to district 1. Appointment for Saigon link https://booking.setmore.com/scheduleappointment/f8af2588-daa5-4e23-9bea-6b35c5e06758 An alternative is to fly to Udon Thani and then onwards to Nong Khai. Obtain SETV at Vientiane. That also requires appointment. Link for appointment https://thaivisavientiane.com/

Exiting Thailand with New Passport
DrJack54 replied to farangbuffalo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can exit with both passports. Since you have already used your extension there is no point in obtaining a reentry permit. You can reenter visa exempt and receive a 30 day stamp. -
90 day non immigrant visa information request
DrJack54 replied to Hannon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
OP, how long do you wish to stay in Thailand. There is better options to ongoing single entry Non O retirement visa. BTW: you would need to exit Thailand to obtain another. -
Second Non-o 90 days visa.
DrJack54 replied to Faeton's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You can obtain a "60 day extension to visit wife" How long do you wish to stay in Thailand. Seem to be making easy difficult You stated...... " I know that I could extend my married visa for a year, but my agency somehow couldn't do it without 400,000 keeping 2 month in the account" That's because it's a financial requirement. The money only needs to be in bank for. 2 months and can then be withdrawn.. -
which office do I visit?
DrJack54 replied to JohnOFphon's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Visa exempt entry you need a TM87 form Bangkok bank have a branch at CW lower level. For the non O you attend CW. If you need a 30 extension to buy more time you attend Lak Si IT Mall. You will need 15 days remaining on your entry stamp to apply for the Non O based on retirement. You will require 800k baht in your Thai bank account on day of application. That gives you a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days with the funds having been in bank for 2 months you can apply for 12 month extension -
I don't understand your reply. The OP is asking about applying for a SETV to Thailand from HCMC consulate. Depending on his pp country he may not even require a visa to enter Vietnam. BTW for those that require a visa to enter Vietnam currently only e-Visa possible and the application takes 5 business days. Note that Vietnam currently only offers 30 day single entry however 90 multi will be reintroduced late August.
