  1. However for you it's a 2 minute gig. Congratulations. Not so simple for many. What would be a high low guesstimate of attending Jomtien immigration after obtaining bank book update etc.
  2. I married you can apply for 60 day extension to visit wife. Sometimes that used by married guys to gain time for seasoning for funds in bank or perhaps it's only a visit and 60 days is adequate. I was really interested in your post with no requirement for insurance for non O retirement. Previously 90 day insurance was required. Clearly missed when it was dropped. The non O marriage did not require insurance.
  3. For extensions marriage I thought photo sitting on edge of bed hilarious. (not all immigration offices) Who dreams this rubbish up.
  4. Good. First hand reports are always the best. I will be surprised if immigration allow report earlier than "the window" Think your window opens Dec 24 based on your reentry date.
  5. For some folk it's a major trip to immigration office. Your "2 minute walk " posts are somewhat naive
  6. The window you refer to is based on your entry date. So you cannot report early based on your previous due date. Out of curiosity why the need to report early. You do realize you can do it via mail or online.
  7. They have always been serious with checking the funds over the previous 12 months. At all offices. The report back 3 months after obtaining the extension for bank book check (at Jomtien and couple of other io) was a rubbish idea. Zero repercussions for ignoring it. The io for next extension will check previous 12 months.
  8. Don't post stuff like that You can obtain a reentry permit at airport 100%
  9. OP, yes you are correct. Just in case you are unaware. You can obtain your reentry permit at immigration OR at the airport.
  10. You already have the correct answers above. I will be in same situation as you soon. I plan to file the 90 report online at the 75 day mark when I return. If it remains pending for more that day or two the back up will be to file via mail. Of course if your immigration office is handy you can always do it in person. Online remember to change your arrival date. The rest is mainly auto fill.
  11. No need to exit Thailand. You will just apply for new extension. Your pp will have an admitted till date. You can apply for your new extension up to 30 (some offices 45) days prior. You don't "lose" any days by applying early. A good policy is to do it couple of weeks early just in case immigration wants something extra that you overlooked.
  12. Read my posts. This is early on ... "Not sure but I think the non O retirement still requires 90 day insurance. Even if it does not ....it would not be my first choice."... Apart from that I suggested better options. Back to back visa exempt. Tourist visa + extension. Border run or flight to eg Saigon. Read the thread.
  13. Read all my posts I recommended against that option and outlined alternatives. Some folk have opted for a non O based on retirement for a 90 day stay. (It's not a retirement visa). So it's certainly an option some choose. It avoids any contact with immigration after arrival for extension. As for any insurance you state..... "He's over for 90 days so travel insurance is what he'll require." It's not a requirement. It's personal choice. Nothing to do with visa options and visa exempt entry.
  14. The thread is about options for 90 day visit to Thailand. Mandatory insurance came up as requirement for non O retirement. Travel insurance completely separate issue. Also application for non O would be eVisa online not Hull.
  15. So you entered on a tourist visa. That provides 60 day permit. What happens after that. If you plan to obtain a 30 day extension then you most likely require a TM30.
  16. It will be there. Not sure but I think the non O retirement still requires 90 day insurance. Even if it does not ....it would not be my first choice. The non O gives max 90 day stay. Cannot obtain 30 day extension. You need to exit prior to expiry. That already eats into your 90 day visit. Everyone will have their own receipt that suits them. Personally...I would choose visa exempt entry and prior to 45 expiry take trip to Saigon. Cheap flights and UK visa exempt. Few days there and return visa exempt OR border bounce. Up To You.
  17. Go back and read your earlier post.... "Also not able to read the visa stickers and interpret it. A single entry is a single entry. It can be used to enter multiple times." He questioned your error. Should read.... " it can NOT be used to enter multiple times" Need to obtain multi reentry permit
  18. Don't wish to sound rude but you stated this: ... "Hopefully that requirement is no longer in effect as my hand drawn map would be atrocious"... View Talay 2 is so simple. Its not a map from immigration. Just a location showing condo and main nearby street. Hardly difficult. Check you office they may have simple map you can photocopy
  19. Indeed. That's why I asked which office. CW accept map of residence showing nearest main intersection. Previously had to be hand drawn. More recently accept other. I use a photocopy of the back of flyer on my condo that has map. Think they now also allow Google maps at CW.
  20. What I mentioned was a non O based on retirement obtained in UK. That would provide a 90 day stamp upon entry. Some folk have found that process messy. With visa exempt entry that would be granted however the extension is for 30 days. Total 75days. In order to obtain total of 90 days you would need to exit Thailand and reenter with another 45 days visa exempt entry. Entries via air without a visa the airline may require onward flight within 30/45 days. Some options to satisfy that are discussed in many threads. One option is to use companies such as "onward flight.com"
  21. You could obtain a tourist visa plus obtain an extension inside Thailand. That would give 60+30 days. You could enter visa exempt that gives 45 days. Take a trip out of Thailand and back for a second visa exempt entry either via air or land for another 45 days. Total 90 days. Added note: if wanting a longer stay the visa exempt entries can each be extended by 30 days. Edit: just realized you are both over 50. You could obtain a non O retirement that would give a 90 day stamp upon entry.
  22. The OP is on extensions from a non O. Ignore the reference in the OP to "retirement visa" No such thing. Any entry to Thailand be it visa exempt or tourist visa etc or non O gives a stamp with a permission of stay. In order to exit and reenter Thailand during that period you need to buy a reentry permit. For the OP having a 12 month extension he would be best off to obtain a multi reentry permit. The expiry date on that permit will match his permit stamp. Note: the quote you mention I think had a typo. Should have been can NOT enter multiple times. (without reentry permit)
