  1. He is located in Pattaya and the mad hatter at immigration is insisting on the 800k being in bank for 2 months rather than just on day of application.
  2. You can do extension up to 45 days prior to expiry at CW. You will need band statement and also bank letter. There is no longer a SCB branch at CW immigration. You can make an appointment. Runs on time. If you make appointment you need to have hard copy of confirmation email Link here..... https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=20131
  3. Thread here..... https://aseannow.com/topic/1297523-info-application-of-tourist-visa-vientianelaos/
  4. Yes I looked at that site. Seems when you hit the insurance link the non O retirement is not listed. I recall a post in recent months of chap obtaining one at Sydney and didn't require insurance. Definitely it was required previously during covid restrictions. At that time people were posting to enter Thailand visa exempt or tourist visa to avoid the insurance requirement. I did look for the post re non O from Thai embassy Sydney but cannot locate it. It's a pity that the dragon lady at Pattaya is requiring 2 months for the "conversion" to non O when in actual fact it should only be required on day of application.
  5. I don't think that is correct. Insurance was required in "covid times" even for non O retirement (3 months) however I think is now not required.
  6. Misread sorry. Perhaps the post by @Red Phoenix would be helpful.
  7. OP, as usual it depends on your immigration office. For your FIRST non O using "conversion" from visa exempt or tourist visa, it's common for immigration office to accept a TM30 as it's understandable to at this early stage you have not chosen long term rental. Suggest you ask your immigration office for definitive advice. Here is link with requirements for 12 months extension. It does list rental agreement. You can do a mok one as suggested earlier. https://www.immigration.go.th/wp-content/uploads/2022/02/9.FOR-RETIREMENT-PURPOSES-50-YEARS-OLD-NON-O.pdf
  8. Not really important as most offices require TM7 to be printed double sided.
  9. Not semantics. It's a non O visa and Extensions of permission of stay from that initial 90 day stamp determines the requirements for ongoing extensions.
  10. Exactly. Even if you were moving to another province you would still be better off just obtaining your next extension with current address.
  11. My understanding based of few folk I have chatted with is if you actually have the funds in the bank then stamps issued at Jomtien immigration. Without funds the pp is sent upcountry for stamp. (Previously KK)
  12. Keep it simple. Obtain your extension at current immigration office. 90 day report should have nothing to do with 90 day reports, however recently at some offices they want you to provide TM47. Just tell them you have done it via mail and waiting. At some time after move do a change of address TM30 at new office. That can be done in person or via mail.
  13. If funds not in bank which immigration office does the stamps?
  14. Correct. BTW: If you don't have time to obtain new pp there won't be an issue with only 2 pages left. The reentry permit only takes half a page
  15. Up to you of course. The 30 day extension is a simple process. 1900baht. Some offices you can even make an appointment. Depends on your ongoing plans to visit Thailand. If it's generally under 60 days then vast majority would not bother with a tourist visa.
  16. Yes in UK you can apply for METV e-Visa online London. Why on earth would you want a METV which can actually provide stay up to 9 months. You plan to stay 58days.
  17. Read your thread. What part don't you understand. You are staying 58days. It's a no brainer. Enter visa exempt which gives you a 30 day stay. In last 2 weeks obtain 30 day extension = 30+30 days. Why make easy difficult.
  18. OP you only require 58days. Enter Thailand visa exempt which gives you a 30 day stamp. In the last couple of weeks of that stamp attend immigration and obtain a 30 day extension. 1900baht. BTW: the double entry tourist visa you mention was done away with years ago. Even if you applied in UK for a e-visa, you would not apply for a METV a single entry tourist visa provides 60 day stamp and also can be extended by 30 days.
  19. Yes I did and that is incorrect. You should read all posts from BritTim. You stated this regarding chap "assisting " Thai partner in hair salon .. I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you are not being paid a salary. That is rubbish. Same as you "assisting" your wife in her business. Sure you may get away with it but that's irrelevant. Being paid has nothing to do with it.
  20. That previously was the case. Thinking that has changed and allows non Thai insurance companies. Thinking that change occured Sept last year? When there was change in required coverage
  21. For TM7 they basically accept any passport size photo. Not fussy at all.
  22. Agree. Perhaps the OP has done the basic research on maximum fine being 20k which equates to 40days+
  23. Should not be an issue. You could consider Vietnam. Depending on your pp country you may require a e-visa
  24. An overstay in Thailand does not affect returning. What is more important is time spent in Thailand leading up to the overstay. From memory I think that you had another recent thread outlining significant stay in Thailand?
  25. From the OP.... "I'm got my e-visa approved today 11th." Someone suggested enter Thailand visa exempt and not use the e-Visa. Subsequently do a border bounce and reenter using the e-Visa (SETV) I don't believe the border bounce (land entry) will work.
