Zero issue to arrive visa exempt and best option. The couple of examples that you outlined in OP seems good option. -
Maximum stay with visa exempt entries?
DrJack54 replied to SunsetT's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
No problem. When was his last visit to Thailand. -
Sounds like you entered visa exempt and received a 30 day stamp. That would mean that your non O is gone. You can apply for a non O retirement with 800k in bank account on the day you apply. That would also require 15+ days remaining on your current permit. As far as a visa run goes that depends where you are located. If in Bangkok you could fly to Udon Thani and the border Nong Khai is easy straight drive from there 1 hour. Pretty simple. If your permit expires after Oct 1 you will receive 45 day stamp.

The 2 entry limit visa exempt is via land/sea. Unlimited entries visa exempt via air. The problem try doing that back to back X number of times would/could lead to refused entry and the very unpleasant consequences of that.

@Dart12 feel bit useless re advice as you really are between rock and hard place. The kicker being that the agent is in Samui. Added to the fact that an employee of that agent has left company. The very first step is to find out where the passport is. Agree easier said than done. The bottom line is you need that pp in hand (with or without stamps) to move forward. Worst case if you had pp is to exit if on overstay pay fine and return. Is there any possibility of someone making inquiries on your behalf in Samui. If you continue with brick wall from them you possibly would need to report the passport lost/stolen. Bottom line is you need pp in hand.

Land borders only 30 day visa exempt
DrJack54 replied to Leon1980's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That has crossed my mind MTT could handle it not sure about Laksi. Many threads with advice of skip the idea of obtaining a tourist visa and do visa exempt instead with extention. In fact just off phone now chatting with Oz friends that usually come with tourist visa pointing out to them to consider visa exempt entry. -
Please bring into line the above posters that referred to Phuket and other immigration offices since you have taken on that responsibility. You don't use a dedicated bank account which is part of the issue as transactions may be consolidated. It perhaps is true the CM require 12 month of bank statements however just a dumb rule. I use a dedicated account and it has zero transactions apart from interest. BTW you state that you make a small deposit into an FD account. Which bank allows a small deposit into an FD account.

It has been stated a million times plus in threads that there is no limit on number of visa exempt entries via air. Your question to the io should have been..." Since there is no limit on visa exempt entries via air why do people occasionally get refused entry"
-
Bumping your threads as zero relies. There is no 6 month validity rule to enter Thailand. However would check with airline as some have their own rules. On that point imo folk best advised to renew pp when down to 6 months or less. The onward flight (does not need to be return) may be required by airline. Current threads covering options to cover onward flight. The required funds cannot include credit/debit cards. Vaccination certificate good idea to have print out. Reports of not much checking on arrival in Thailand. Airline could ask. I plan to have print out of my vaccination record for upcoming trip.

Land borders only 30 day visa exempt
DrJack54 replied to Leon1980's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Extension 30 days. So visa exempt 45 + 30 (extension). Edit: added note. If you enter visa exempt and apply for extension in Bangkok it is done at Laksi IT Mall and not CW immigration. -
Done deal.

The bank statement may be a requirement at CM however not all immigration offices are so stupid. If you use a dedicated bank account for immigration purposes and maintain that at 800k+ be that a FD or savings account then no bank statements would/should be required. Certainly not at CW As for your "small deposit" into FD account. Which bank allows this. Most FD accounts have minimum deposit of 1000baht.
