Can you post a report where that has occured.
-
I don't agree with that. You are suggesting that someone can apply for eVisa for example UK pp holder applying for METV while sitting in bar in Saigon and fly into Bangkok with that evisa

Your immigration office is out of line. Putting that aside I suggest you obtain the non O marriage at Vientiane. That requires an appointment. Alternatively you can do likewise at Savannakhet. You can then obtain your 12 month extension seamlessly at your immigration office. Your office is being crackpot but not much you can do. Did you ask to speak with senior io? Just to make sure some jr gave incorrect advice.

Find these reoccurring threads re fillable forms and blue v black pens ridiculous. Either download form and spend a minute to fill in form. And yes use Blue pen (just in case) OR next time you visit immigration pick up hand full of each form. TM7, TM8, TM47 etc. Not difficult.

Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Stop there.. Many folk apply for subsequent non O visa. It could be as simple as change from non O-A to non O. Could be exit Thailand kill off non O-A to reentry visa exempt and obtain new non O . -

Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Please stop. The "conversions" from visa exempt exempt and tourist visa using TM87 and TM86 has been done with zero issue countless times. The most typical being expats killing off obligation to extensions from a non O-A. Also post covid there was insurance requirement for non O obtained in home country. In countless threads an alternative was suggested. That was to enter visa exempt and obtain non O in Thailand. Our great man UJ suggested that pathway in many threads. It's not difficult. It's a daily event. Stop unless scaremongering. -

For a non O application? Name some immigration offices that have that requirement. To be clear the thread is not about extensions -

Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It's very messy. Thinking after he obtains non O in Bangkok he would need to do FIRST extension in Bangkok. Yes after that he could do TM30 change of address back to Pattaya for ongoing extensions. Messy. Better options available. Already outlined in thread. -
Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa

That is not what the OP is about. You applied for extension. Seems that you entered with a non O. The OP is applying for non O retirement from visa exempt entry. -
Retirement visa / change of address
DrJack54 replied to djayz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
He can not obtain certificate of residence in Bangkok without having done a TM47 at that office. Nakhon Ratchasima is an option. -
Retirement visa / change of address
DrJack54 replied to djayz's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You could try a change of address to where you live. That would require a TM30. As for your extension next year you will need to use as agent as the financials are check retrospectively over previous 12 months. As for exiting the country you need to obtain a reentry permit. In your case best done at departure. 1000b single reentry and 3800b multiple. If your embassy provides confirmation of address that can be used for TDL. What do you need certificate of residence for.. -
Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa

There are ~ 75 immigration offices. Can you rattle off a few offices imposing same rubbish as Jomtien. -
Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just a heads up. Every one of your posts in this thread has been incorrect information. Tourist Visas cannot be obtained in Thailand. The "conversion" from visa exempt entry or tourist visa entry to a non O marriage or retirement use forms TM87 and TM86 respectfully. That provides a 90 day stamp. The subsequent 12 month extension has different requirements for marriage and retirement. That's not what the thread is about. It's about Jomtien immigration imposing incorrect rule for funds in account on day of application for non O. -
30 Day Waivers How Many is too Many
DrJack54 replied to Eddie45's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Folk with tourist visa sometimes need/want to exit for few days and return. You can buy a reentry permit to keep your permission of stay valid. Obtain at airport on departure or immigration office anytime. -

Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
What are you typing about. Jomtien are requiring two months seasoning of funds for non O. That makes process from visa exempt to non O impossible. The other 70+ offices only require the funds in bank on day of application for non O. I would be mad as hell dealing with that crackpot immigration office. -
Jomtien's gone rogue on Non-Imm O visa
DrJack54 replied to Pattaya57's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
It is not possible to obtain a tourist visa inside of Thailand. The only thing remotely related to 60 days is "60 day extension to visit Thai wife"
