  1. Indeed. He can obtain that after he is married. FWIW here is good lesson for me to be not so quick to judge. Rob is trying to do a good thing. OP ....after arrival in Thailand you can always do a border run for visa exempt entry to buy time to marry etc. 45 days for visa exempt when you plan to visit. Each reentry entities you to 60 day extension to visit wife.
  2. From Rob... "You are obviously quite well off, four hundred thousand baht equates to £9567 at current rates" Most likely UK meaning no embassy letter.
  3. How did you enter Thailand? Meaning visa exempt or tourist visa or...? When does your current permission of stay end. The 60 day extension to visit wife applies to many status Folk with a visa and tourist visa and non O or extensions from a non O can apply for that 60 day extension. Once per entry to Thailand.
  4. You have jumped about back and forth regarding obtaining extension retirement yourself and via use of agent. Think I have already suggested chat with ThaiVisaCentre or Bangkok Buddy here in Bangkok or contact one of the many agents in Pattaya.. One example Maneerat.
  5. To apply for non O marriage you could have 400k in Thai bank account on day of application. That visa would give you a 90 day stamp. You could enter visa exempt and receive 45 days (from Oct 1) and also obtain a 60 day extension to visit wife (after marriage); The extension is 1900baht. BTW you state .... "You are obviously quite well off, four hundred thousand baht equates to £9567 at current rates"... As I mentioned it only needs to be in the account on day you obtain a 90 day non O.
  6. Your passport ID page showing you are citizen of that country would be sufficient.
  7. The huge sum you refer to for extension based on marriage is 400k in bank for 2 months prior to application and maintained for under consideration period. After that the funds can be used. Put simply money in bank for approx 3 months each year and then used as you wish. Very modest requirements.
  8. You will receive better answers in community form "marriage children" etc Here is one example....
  9. Read earlier posts. If obtaining a non O retirement inside Thailand from a visa exempt or tourist visa the funds must be shown to come from abroad. Subsequent 12 month extentions do not require proof funds came from abroad.
  10. Nothing like the amount I see. I best have another look. From the net: . "The e-Visa is valid for 30 days, and single entry only. The e-Visa costs 25 USD for card payments. It requires three full working days to process." Seems $25usd is correct. I'm going to apply and confirm
  11. It's eVisa now and not pleasant price. Previously I would obtain 3 month multi entry and do 4 visits per visa. That visa currently not available (no idea why) only one month single entry for Oz folk. (unless business)
  12. The person you quoted is incorrect. As mentioned earlier more days out is better than a quick turn around. Very easy to spend time in places such as Saigon. Think you mentioned UK passport. They are 15 day visa exempt for Vietnam.
  13. I use two accounts with same bank. FD and Savings. You only require one bank letter as they list both accounts. 100baht. I obtain the letter on day of application at CW. No issue.
  14. Not all Asian countries even have visa exempt entry. For example for me (Oz) I need a visa to enter Vietnam and all that's available is single entry tourist visa 30 days. (Not cheap) When things are made easy and flexible (as they are in Thailand) some folk still complain. You mention travel and sight seeing. From Bangkok jump on plane to Udon Thani and stay few nights. Chill bar area. Quick easy drive from UT to Nong Khai for your 45 day gift that has extention available.
  15. Correct. It won't help. It's not just the fingerprints. (That's easy to avoid). Why is the border bounce such a big deal. Guess it depends on your location.
  16. Good question. There was a really good fella on AseanNow that generally was spot on. He often stated that Savannakhet provided a ME Non O based on retirement. However I have never read a report to support that.
  17. We are in no mans land now. After covid just getting back to normal. Hard to predict attitude from repeat entries via airports using visa exempt and extensions. Personally I would go for 2 back to back along with border bounces.
  18. That changes things. Yes fly in visa exempt. Do as you plan fly out and back. Consider staying few days out. Places such as Saigon are ripper joints to take a brief holiday and airport close to great tourist area. The next two I would still suggest fly out and back with tourist visa or border bounce.
  19. Risky at best. You should do border runs. Potentially problem at airport when you arrive. Also what is previous history of stays in Thailand prior to this master plan.
  20. Most likely will not be questioned. BTW...You would be aware that traveling with wife/family you can use the Thai passport control exit. You will not be questioned. With visa exempt exempt the throw away line would be plan to leave in 28 days.
  21. What I posted very early. "He could possibly mean a ME non O that allows stays of 90 days. That visa is valid for 12 months" However OP persisted with questions.
  22. Not interested. The multi entry non O is available in a few countries. Certainly not all Even in nearby countries some consulates provide that visa and some do not. In Laos that visa is available in Savannakhet but not Vientiane. It's available in HCMC. Think Phnom Penh only provide single entry non O valid for 90 days. Anyway ....the point of the thread?
