As you are aware for a non O based on marriage applied for in Thailand the wife does need to attend.

I know what you mean regards providing proof of marriage but to be clear your wife does not need to be present.

You can obtain a 30 day extension. If obtaining extension in Bangkok you will attend Laksi immigration office (IT mall)

You are comparing two completely different things. A ME non O retirement visa (12 months ) cannot be obtained in Thailand. An extension to a non O retirement in Thailand would require embassy letter and 3 countries do not provide that. UK, USA, AU

One option is to fly Bangkok to Udon Thani return. The minivan to Nong Khai is straight flat road under two hours. The money thing about flight is nonsense. Visa exempt entries via land have less scrutiny that entry via air and for the OP much better option.

Two months prior.. Better plan would have been to obtain the TM30 earlier and have that in your paperwork. In that way you could make a booking which at CW which runs like clockwork. Depending on how long you wish to stay in Thailand you also have option of 30 day extension in addition to 60 day extension to visit wife The non O based on marriage has requirements such as 400k in Thai bank in your name only on the day you apply.

Not sure about Jomtien but some immigration offices want to see "activity in the account" on day of application. Best done with small deposit/withdrawal.

What does that mean. Every visa exempt entry gives 30 day stamp. You can apply for extension. Normal that would be done in last couple of weeks of expiry of that stamp. The 30 day extension dates from expiry of current stamp. In other words that process gives 30+30 days.

In that case your answer is post previous to yours. Suggest that you also make small deposit on day of application.

I didn't understand your first post and also this one. You stated "border run for another visa" ? At a guess seems you reentered Thailand visa exempt? How did your partner have to pay fine? If you subsequently attended immigration for an extension then Immigration could place a fine. Generally that would be on you and usual fine 800b.

Don't need to attend CW for TM30. Ask hotel for screenshot of filing TM30. When you attend immigration for extension take print out of TM30. What type of extension are you applying for. How did you enter Thailand? If visa exempt then you do attend Laksi immigration (IT Mall) . Edit: just noticed thread heading. Seems you entered visa exempt. You attend Laksi and provide TM30 screenshot print out at doc check..

OP, which immigration office. Bank letter in theory should be accepted up to 7 days early. One day certainly..

If you returned with new visa or visa exempt you would need to file a TM30. My guess is that you actually entered visa exempt.. Either way now TM30 necessary.
