  1. That won't happen at immigration on arrival in Thailand. The whole thing regarding onward ticket is being asked by the airline at departure. Many are not asked and many are. I'm starting to think that certain factors come into play and seems low cost carriers in particular require onward flight. I have been asked by Jetstar from Melb to Bangkok and always using AirAsia. In both instances it was my fault for clearly not identifying my reentry permit. BTW: From Saigon you will be asked for onward flight if visa exempt.
  2. If you are in Udon Thani then Nong Khai is the obvious choice.
  3. If you are flying visa exempt the airline at departure MAY want to see onward flight within 30 days. The options to cover that are outlined in thread I posted earlier.
  4. Sounds like you will be living (initially) in Bangkok and dealing with CW. They allow combination method. However for your first application I don't think they will accept your income as you have not been transferring funds. BTW do you have a Thai bank account in your name only. Aside: if your budget is 50k per month Khaosan Rd area would not be best idea.
  5. Yes again I'm not addressing your question re METV. If old and frail I would be entering visa exempt and using an agent for all.
  6. Thinking there was better option. Enter Thailand visa exempt. Obtain bank account using agent. (simple quick process) Transfer 800k to bank account and as soon as that is completed obtain non O retirement. The 800k only needs to be in the account on day of application. Note from Oct 1 visa exempt will be 45 days. Apply for the non O with 15+ days remaining on permit. The non O gives 90 day stamp. In last 30 days with funds having been in the account for 2 months apply for 12 month extension. Can't see the point of METV.
  7. Me brain fade. Was thinking of retirement. Yes with the under consideration period for extensions marriage rules out that option. Out of interest where will you be obtaining the ME non O
  8. You list the ME non O and PE (elite visa) as your two options. You could of course obtain a non O with extensions and multi reentry permit.. Thinking the ME good option. Reports from folk with similar shifts to yours and previously using visa exempt entries being told the old line "get a visa" by immigration.
  9. OP, if you know the area you plan to live and hence immigration office you will be dealing with it would be helpful to indicate that. You may then receive first hand report. Some offices are not keen on combination method and make things tough.
  10. Who is "he" If you are referring to the OP, he asked about changes to ME non O marriage at Savannakhet. He actually received correct answer in first posted reply. The process is the same as pre covid. An ME non O suits many folk perfectly. The chit chat about use of agents was a side tract off topic. Regarding your post about cost clearly you have no first hand experience. The OP has not indicated that he has a current non O. The agent would need to first obtain a non O then obtain a 12 month extension. 30k might be possible for non O and extension based on retirement. The process based on marriage is much more expensive. Of course I'm referring to using established companies such as ThaiVisaCentre in Bangkok and places like Maneerat in Pattaya..
  11. Oh dear. Currently borders are open and you suggest will be closed over next 12 months. Can't make this stuff up.
  12. The OP would also require a non O marriage visa not simply an extension. That's enough ....ignore list...bye
  13. I deal with agents often. Please post facts. I know the cost of various visa assistance from agents. Most of which do not even deal with non O marriage. You prove my point with the big secret routine. Basically no idea. However again...the OP has not indicated any interest in use of agent.
  14. Lots can. 26,000thb. Name ONE agent that does non O marriage+ extension for 26k
  15. The OP, would not have a non O marriage. Provide agent name to obtain non O marriage along with 12 month extension for under 30k. Dreamworld. Mind you all irrelevant as the OP has not indicated notion of using agent.
  16. As I understand it CM is an office that insists upon TM30 for return from o/s. Just one of the few offices that make up their own rules.
  17. Would not be interested. However when you apply for extension take along screenshot from hotel where you are staying.
  18. Why do you require a TM30? Will you be dealing with immigration for example an extension?
  19. Not familiar with that. I wonder if it's just that region that insists upon residence certificate from immigration. I know the embassy letter is fine for TDL and Bank Account etc
  20. Indeed. Prior to covid I was never in Thailand for more than a month. Hence for 7 years no 90 report and as a result could not get residence certificate from CW. The issue for Oz folk is that AU embassy does not provide that service. No surprise there.
  21. Excellent point. Don't think OP mentioned being over 50. Non O retirement+ extensions may not be an option
  22. Read the OP.... ". This is the type of visa I had before Covid restrictions shut everything down" Clearly he has used this visa previously and must be his preferred option.. He is simply asking for update re process at Savannakhet and you chime in with use of agent. Perhaps he has never heard of agents.
  23. It would have been clear if the OP had stated reason for residence certificate. He has a thread in motorcycles asking about registration so guessing that's what it's for. If so embassy letter would work.
