Yes. I need to connect every time I reenter condo or every morning. Unlike bars etc where I visit and auto connect as have been there previously. Bit embarrassing how many bars my cell auto connects to.

You are aware of the saying .. "Ignorance is bliss" I live a very blissful life! Some very helpful posts above. I just now did a Netflix search and article that Yes they have stopped account sharing. However they have reduced membership cost. From something like 269 to 169b . Obviously that would be basic package.

Trust me I have tried. The building has a wifi set up that for example it only allows one connection. My partner has her own phone plane. Data etc. I do not. We cannot sit in room both connected to condo wifi.

Thanks. Clearly I'm slightly tech challenged. As stated ...I pay my condo office wifi every month. At present the phone connects to building wifi and the tv to my hotspot. Works fine. So follow your idea I just sign up online? Being old school prefer to do that in person but clearly not an option. Ta.

Thanks for post. I'm not fussed about using cell as hotspot. It's more asking about if Netflix is best option and do you just subscribe online etc

New passport and then extension
DrJack54 replied to underthesky's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your posts have been incorrect in many ways. -
Not sure correct forum and I did research but very old Threads. So here is the situation. Been watching Netflix for quite some time. My partners friend was a subscriber and had a deal where you can share 4 accounts. So either the friend ended subscription or Netflix stopped that deal. I want something similar. Happy to subscribe. There is one issue. I cannot connect tv to my condo wifi. I use my cell phone as a personal hotspot. Works fine. Appreciate any suggestions of alternatives to watch some movie/series etc content. TIA.

Advice on whether this would work, please
DrJack54 replied to DNSEA's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
That wouldn't work. People are advised to apply for eVisa few weeks early. The "onwardticket.com" flights are only valid for few days. Good option for flying visa exempt to satisfy airline. You can pay extra and have longer valid status however don't think few weeks available. In any event imo this loop hole will soon close. Your passport will show country of departure. Thinking it was poorly planned in first place. -

non-O visa through agents
DrJack54 replied to thailandsgreat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Again just one person's opinion.. Given that at this stage it's not about permanent ongoing living in Thailand I would suggest the agent route. If in the future you live permanently in Thailand you can obtain a new non O and extension and do it without agent. -
You cannot convert. You need to exit Thailand without reentry permit. That kills off your non O-A. Then you have two options. Obtain non O retirement at a consulate. Vientiane is popular. OR ... You enter Thailand visa exempt (border bounce) and obtain non O at your Thai immigration office .

non-O visa through agents
DrJack54 replied to thailandsgreat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Your non O is issued on day of application. That gives a 90 day stamp. Permission of stay. No need to apply for 30 day extension. -
My vote is that is correct. You could changed to based on retirement from Thai child in the future, however for your first extension you would need to base extension on Thai child. If this is incorrect no doubt others will fix that advice up. Not sure why you bothered with Vietnam. You could have entered visa exempt and obtained non O retirement and subsequent extension.

non-O visa through agents
DrJack54 replied to thailandsgreat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
A few folk have mentioned Maneerat and I posted a thread link specifically about agents in Pattaya. Just one person's suggestion... Don't need to shop around for lowest price. The non O and extension without you providing your own money in bank is approx 25-30k . You haven't mentioned your longer term plans. Meaning retirement in Thailand ongoing or just obtaining a stamp for next 15 months. If it's the later then just use an agent and leave your dosh in own country. Keep TM47 out of it for now. -

DrJack54 replied to DNSEA's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I haven't seen one. It's come up in a few threads. Some asking if they can apply while not in there own country as per this thread. Recent one where the evisa was issued after he appealed decision however by that time had entered Thailand. Here is one thread with some chit chat. Nothing definitive. -

Depends on type of visa and which country. -
Do i need return ticket to visit Thailand?
DrJack54 replied to arfandy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Try posting accurate information. Not difficult fella. From Division 1 gov website... "The notification of staying in the Kingdom over 90 days is not the visa extension. If a foreigner staying in the kingdom over 90 days without notifying residence to immigration officer or notifying later than the set period, must notify in person and a fine of 2,000.- THB will be collected. If a foreigner who did not make the notification of staying over 90 days is arrested, he/her will be fined 5,000.- THB with an additional fine not exceeding 200.- THB for each day which passes until the law is complied with." -

METV you need to be in your passport country or where you have permanent residence status to apply. Since eVisa has been introduced in some countries people have been asking if it's possible to "get around" the requirement I mentioned above. -
Do i need return ticket to visit Thailand?
DrJack54 replied to arfandy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Please post link -
Most likely a simple doc to obtain your region. The issue is for Bangkok folk where to obtain a certificate of residence from CW you need to have made a TM47 report and that's not possible on a tourist visa or visa exempt.

Do i need return ticket to visit Thailand?
DrJack54 replied to arfandy's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The requirement is normal procedure and the airline was not being over the top. It's policy. BTW it did need to be a return ticket. Any onward flight would be fine. Also "rent a ticket" online from various companies such as onwardflight.com -
non-O visa through agents
DrJack54 replied to thailandsgreat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Here is link to register for online reporting. https://tm47.immigration.go.th/tm47/#/register/add. It's a very simple process. Reporting via mail is also very simple. You DO NOT post your passport. In your thread so far you have jumped from doing process yourself and also using an agent. All the steps for both options have been provided in the links to threads I have posted. -

DrJack54 replied to thailandsgreat's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
90 day report can be done online from anywhere in Thailand. Also from anywhere using mail option. In the other part of your post you mention difficult immigration office for extension. A TM30 is most often required to obtain an 30 day extension for visa exempt and tourist visa. -

Immigration should accept TM30 from hotel for your non O application Try and explain that you are the process of looking for rental. Read through all the threads I posted earlier.
