DrJack54 replied to asia123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
The OP mentioned GF. Why assume marriage is even on his radar. -
retirement visa confusion
DrJack54 replied to marcusb's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
For non O retirement application you only require the 800k+ in Thai Bank account in your name only on day of application. What is also required is to show those funds came from abroad -
retirement visa confusion
DrJack54 replied to marcusb's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Don't know what you mean by "long O visa" You can obtain a single entry non O retirement in Thailand that gives a 90 day permit. I the last 30 days you can obtain 12 month extension. Has financial requirements. No insurance required for the non O or the extension. -

Good. You no doubt are aware that the 800k balance can be taken down to minimum 400k three months after the application then back up to 800k two months prior to your next application. Some folk prefer to just keep the 800k+ all year round and this avoids possible slip ups. Also good idea is to have a dedicated bank account for immigration purposes. -
No TM6 - Register address
DrJack54 replied to rohitsuk's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I read another post of yours about this. The boarding pass has always been requested by immigration at airport. The fact that many travellers often do not have this to show immigration is just overlooked by the io. Since the suspension of the arrival card, the TM6 is not required to be presented for such things as 90 reports etc. Immigration offices would not be interested in a boarding pass in any way. -
Is an overnight stay required?.
DrJack54 replied to adv008's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Folk exit Thailand at places such at land border Laos to either obtain a visa (eg tourist visa). OR exit and reenter at the border with either ME non O (as is the case with OP) as an example or visa exempt entry. So the first is a Visa Run. and second a Border Bounce. -
No TM6 - Register address

Why the TM30. You mention wife. If returning to place of residence the TM30 would not be required Edit: I see you entered visa exempt...then yes TM30 required if you need to have anything to do with immigration -

You paid 10k for io to fill in forms. A non O is 2000 baht. The retirement visa you refer to is actually a 12 month extension to your permission of stay. Be aware of the financial requirements for the next 12 months in order to obtain next extension in 12 months time. Be aware that if you wish to exit Thailand and keep your extension alive you would need to purchase reentry permit prior to exit. -
Covid visa an entry denial
DrJack54 replied to asia123's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Did you enter with a visa or visa exempt? How long were you out of Thailand. Regarding future travel plans you are best off with a tourist visa. Really depends on how much time you wish to spend in Thailand. Clearly you are under 50 as you have not considered extensions based on retirement. -

You require the standard copies of passport. ID (photo page) Non O visa page . Last entry stamp. TM6 (if you have one) A copy of lease if you have one or TM30. TM7 form and photo. Bank letter. Most banks are located on lower level. (SCB no branch at CW). Photocopies of pages of your bank book showing funds seasoned for 2 months and first page with account name. Best to make small deposit into the account at same time as obtaining bank letter. 100baht for letter. Ask clerk to kindly photocopy this updated page. Hand drawn map of where you live. Here is thread of report of extension using money in bank method CW. -

With an appointment at CW you bypass que and ticket desk. Go straight to the desk indicated on your appointment confirmation. BTW have a hard copy. Be early for your appointment. When io not busy make yourself known. You may not be called. More important than appointment details would have been list of documents that you provided. -

The OP only needs a border bounce not a visa.
