Tourist visa to stay over 30 days ??
All agents can do for 12 month extension based on marriage is hand holding. Directing you to required paperwork etc. The Financial requirements are not too difficult. If over 50 and do not meet the financial requirements then an agent will suggest extension based on retirement

What do you remember ?
Having one of these in the backyard and dad burning anything not living. The word sustainability not yet invented

Missed out on TM30 after a trip - what is the best choice now?
That is correct and also includes those with a multiple entry visa.

Question on Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa
OP, correct answers above. The key date to keep eye on is June 10. You should exit and reenter just prior to that date. In doing that you will be stamped in for 60 days. That 60 stamp can also be extended by 30 at immigration office. Hence you read that METV can provide a 9 month stay. Ripper visa.

Missed out on TM30 after a trip - what is the best choice now?
Not interested in what couple of rogue offices do. Yes Jomtien were red hot on tm30 few months ago. Believe they are not now. Folk should be familiar with what their own office require even when it's incorrect.

Overstayed by 7 months.
I don't see this as a similar issue. Sure there have been cases involving medical reasons for overstay also court cases and folk end up on overstay if they didn't obtain extension for court proceedings etc. Lawyers in some situations can be useful but costly. Not really clear about this friend of a friend situation is. One thing is clear (imo) get out of dodge.

hotels insisting on passport at checkin (for TM30?)
You have misunderstood. I was referring to 3 pages of nonsense from many posters. Simple fact is that to check into hotel the hotel has every right to request pp. In any event this simple thread has run its course. Thread closed.

hotels insisting on passport at checkin (for TM30?)
What part of hotel requesting you pp for check in don't you understand. Hotels have a legal obligation to do a TM30 report. To meet that they require your pp.

Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected
Previously online reporting 90 days for next extension was dated from approval. Many threads on this where people point out that it only adds one extra report per year. If your office starts 90 day account from due date great. If its now across all offices even better
-
Your application for "STAYING LONGER THAN 90 DAYS" has been rejected
Don't get your hopes up. I always apply 14/15 days early and my last 3 rejected at CW. No reason given and no joy explanation wise when doing it in person.

What are the penalties if late for first 90 day report?
Works fine.

hotels insisting on passport at checkin (for TM30?)
Waste of time back and forth with someone wanting to play their own rules. Most hotels require pp for check in. Posts in thread re wife check in only apply those traveling with Thai. Many do not. After Songkran I will attend bank to obtain bank cheque for condo purchase. I will require pp at bank and also Land office. This thread is 3 pages of nonsense. Check in to a hotel provide your passport. Simple.

Tourist visa to stay over 30 days ??
It mostly depends on the airline and route. If you are flying eg Jetstar to Thailand you have good chance of issue at check in without onward flight within 30 days

hotels insisting on passport at checkin (for TM30?)
Very silly attitude. BTW what do you use for counter transaction at your bank.

Tourist visa to stay over 30 days ??
You could have purchased a rent a flight from companies such as "onwardticket.com" 14usd
-
Tourist visa to stay over 30 days ??
And I wrote "You MAY require a TM30...." Obtaining a 30 day extension in Bangkok high chance. Many threads such as this indicate tm30 more often than not is required https://aseannow.com/topic/1292207-tm30/

Overstayed by 7 months.
That would not be a good idea. He will receive a ban. He needs to exit via airport now.
-
Missed out on TM30 after a trip - what is the best choice now?
You should not be required to do a TM30 for trips out of province or out of Thailand. To obtain a certificate of residence most recent TM47 or TM30 should be sufficient.

Retirement 800k rules
It's 2 months prior to date of application for extension. The 4 was a typo. So it's all about the date of application. 800k for 2 months prior to application + maintained at 800k for 3 months after application and not below 400k in other months
-
Retirement 800k rules
Correct.

Good to see they have fallen into line.

Overstayed by 7 months.
Your account has zero to do with overstay of several months. What you related is common place.
