What is the combo method for a Non-O visa.
DrJack54 replied to Billpro785's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
In future (Nov) will post my experience. Currently I'm in process of changing from funds in bank to income method. I will maintain 800k+ since last (current) extension. At same time I have been doing monthly transfers of 65k +. Intend to point 12 months of transfers to io and hopefully that will be all good to continue with the transfers and drop the funds in bank options -

You are correct about not needing to take bank balance back up to 800k two months prior to extension for 2025..... However as always with immigration best practice is to "cover all bases" If there is slightest issue with OP changing to income or combo method he can fall back on him meeting funds in the bank method -

The io is correct -
That's not the only consideration. Just one example......if someone ditches their extension and decides to take trip via air out of Thailand. When they reenter visa exempt via air then high chance of refused entry with pp showing continuous stay in Thailand using visa exempt entries. Granted they could obtain a reentry permit but seriously that would be ridiculous.... To drop annual extensions that is not a difficult exercise to change to land border bounces and obtaining reentry permits is crazy.

In my opinion there is nothing to suggest that it's permanent change. If in fact it was then there would need to be changes to SETV as it offers very little over a 60 day visa exempt entry. My "banging on" is in the main directed at few posts suggesting scrap their annual extensions and do border bounces. That would be foolish. For Thai flip flop we only need to look as far as current threads/news re "weed"

I'm tired of suggesting that will not be the case, yet you keep banging the same message. One last time: visa exempt entry via air is already unlimited. However folk using a few/many back to back are being scrutinized and on occasion even refused entry. This was widespread in particular in 2019 just prior to covid. The same thing will most likely occur with land borders. Also there is nothing to suggest this increase to 60 days will be permanent.

You are playing semantics. It's a given that most of us living in Thailand have in fact a "temporary permission of stay" . That can be continuous and ongoing and in many cases is. Some have not exited Thailand for many years. BTW: You took 3 words of my post out of context....."live in Thailand" The poster I was replying to was suggesting the recent change with heading .."unlimited border visa exempt entries" implies possibility of living in Thailand in similar fashion to those on extensions. It does not.

Address for marriage visa extension
DrJack54 replied to Dickvandamme's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Earlier in the thread you stated.... "I have a Marriage Visa. I've had one for most of my 40 years here" Assuming you are living in Thailand on extensions from a non O based on marriage. Your daughter does not need to "help you out with visa renewal as she is Thai" -
OP, correct answer above. Also note the online reporting reminder email is not synced with trips out of and reentry to Thailand. Ignore the reminder email.

Recommended Visa Agencies Hua Hin

What was your visa status and when did you open the 3 bank accounts by shopping around different banks -
Does not match my experience. In 2021...I wanted to open account with BBL branch Asoke. Was informed by bank manager that I required address certification from my embassy or COR from immigration. Australian embassy does not provide that service along with USA and UK. Numerous threads re this topic in "banking finance" forum.
