  1. So if I understand correctly. You ask about flight however no intention of using that option stating ......."I asked by curiosity but didn't really think to do it" You ask about border run however rule out agent minivan company.... So you are left with one option. Do the border run alone and be prepared to spend couple nights outside of Thailand. Anything else?
  2. Absolutely. There was a post (still can't believe the stupidity) a guy sent his 82 yr old mum on bounce to Singapore return flight same day. Sadly she had hell of a time at airport on return to Thailand. Was eventually admitted however very upsetting. The OP could use "safe service" by agent however approx 4500b
  3. Yes. See post above.. In any event you have ruled out minivan run. You could consider getting to border by yourself and spending couple of nights out of Thailand. Nong Khai or Cambodia.. up to you. Flight out and back after few days tempting as you seem to be located in Bangkok. Detailed information helps folk giving advice. . You previous thread (link above) good example
  4. Yes the second link you listed is the one I have always used. BTW I just do it on phone. Very smooth.
  5. Yep noticed that but surprised he even opted to obtain SETV given both provide 60 day stamp. Perhaps he is referring to visa exempt entry as "tourist visa" Edit: I recall this OP now and in this thread. https://aseannow.com/topic/1357038-bangkok-immigration-government-complex-something-new-i-should-know/ Indeed entered Thailand with a SETV and obtained 30 day extension at CW. Now needs border bounce for another 60 day stamp. Suggest minivan agent bounce from Bangkok to Cambodia. However he ruled that out. Another option is to consider mini holiday and exit return via air. Saigon would be my pick. Safe entry services recommended however comes at a price.
  6. Check out this thread re border run to Nong Khai Dec last year. You may be required to spend night or two in Laos and even buy flight out of Thailand. Have not read recent reports. Where are you located in Thailand. Agent run minivan companied going to Cambodia from eg Bangkok or Pattaya are a good option for a bounce. Current thread running where companies charging 5700b for guy with a DTV for same day bounce. Flying into Thailand always the issue on hassle with immigration if extensive history. Also issue of onward flight requirement from airline. Someone mentioned "safe entry service" yes that works however ~4500b.
  7. I feel bad for the UK guys for their pp renewal from Thailand. Not rubbing it in but I renewed my Oz pp not long ago. You can do the whole thing online. The current pp is not sent. The application goes via mail to embassy in Bangkok then onto Oz. New pp delivered back to Thai home address. 20 days in total. The word "shambles" for UK renewal is fitting.
  8. If you attend immigration for any reason it's most likely they will require you to transfer stamps. However (Thailand) it's not uncommon for someone to attend immigration for transfer and be told " your extension is due soon, do it then"
  9. It won't carry over. With respect you are still doing same thing...trying to gain extra few months. Nightmare thread currently running of UK pp renewal via VSF in Bangkok. Will post link later. I renewed my Oz pp year back and it still had almost 2 years validity. PP has 10 year validity. Penny wise pound foolish comes to mind. Keep in mind that while no issue entering Thailand with the 6 month validity rule....other countries do have that requirement. Here read this and ask when to renew UK pp. https://aseannow.com/topic/1353499-uk-passport-renewal-question/
  10. As soon as you obtain upcoming extension apply for passport renewal. Ceases to amaze me why folk try and milk out pp. I suggest if less than 12 months validity renew
  11. https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=1666 Read point 5 in attached link regarding very first 90 report after application for extension. For subsequent extensions the reporting has nothing to do with extension. However some immigration offices start the 90 count again when applying for extension. If that's the case the io should indicate that... Usually by placing report due date in passport.
  12. Are you planning on obtaining a 12 month extension
  13. There is nothing to be gained by doing extension late. Don't follow the thinking. At CW you can do it up to 45 days early.
  14. Nup. As pointed out above the 15/21 days prior is for the Non O application. For extension you can go up to day of expiry.. Obviously have few, days up your sleeve in case immigration want something you didn't provide. You do not lose days by extending early.
  15. I have read of others but not common. CW is generally the gold standard but bit silly on this one. The io hardly glances at it. As pointed out ...the map is not entire route to immigration office but just from residence to nearest main intersection. Google co ordinates seems more sensible.
  16. Be aware that to enter Thailand after the funeral and flying without visa or reentry permit the airline at departure may require onward flight. BTW here is short thread listing docs from visa exempt to Non O Note you need to apply for the Non O with min 15 days remaining on permission of stay and 21 at some offices eg CM. https://aseannow.com/topic/1291070-visa-exempt-to-non-o-marriage-visa-conversion-at-cw-requirements/
  17. Given that info, I would be inclined to just exit Thailand. Don't worry about reentry permit and return visa exempt. Basically meaning start over. You will receive a new 60 day stamp. That provides plenty of time to obtain the Non O marriage
  18. When is funeral and how long after the funeral do you want to stay in Thailand.
  19. From visa exempt to Non O you use TM87. To exit Thailand and return you require a reentry permit. You don't "hold the visa".... Obtaining the Non O simply gives you a 90 day stamp. The reentry permit allows you to reenter Thailand during that permission of stay.
  20. You can do both. From visa exempt entry you can obtain 60 day extension to visit family. You can obtain a Non O that obviously has other requirements such as financials etc. Assume that you have Thai bank account in your name only? How many days remaining on current permission of stay?
  21. Think you will find that in general Immigration offices will not accept bank statements that can be downloaded from eg banking app. They require statements provides by bank with the stamps etc
  22. CW in recent years has shown a shift towards requiring 12 month bank statements. For those with a dedicated bank account for immigration it can be as simple as a month or two of no transactions. They almost looking for excuse. For those using day to day account immigration can claim consolidated transactions. By all means folk can continue with the photocopies of bankbook etc. For the sake of 200b bank statement I recommend that good option moving forward. I obtain mine day prior to application. First many years bank book only.
  23. I'm pretty hopeless on LTR. Several guys have posted how helpful BOI have been re inquires etc. Even via email. Someone with a LTR may advise.
  24. That won't work. They would want stamp transfer done prior to next extension. It's not just stamps that are transferred. It's also reference/info of your visa that's transferred.
