  1. Yes that's a given. Bit inconvenient IMO for those folks
  2. Not at all. For extensions based on income method you provide 12 month bank statement. For money in bank method the same. Note: some offices will just accept bank book photocopies, however seems slight push to the 12 month bank statement. The main difference is that income method funds need to be shown from abroad. For money in bank that is not a requirement. To change from income method to funds in bank.... Suggest you continue with the monthly transfers till next application for extension. Also two months prior to application have minimum 800k in the account. After that just be compliant with money in bank requirements.
  3. Using income method immigration will want to see a 12 month bank statement showing 12 transfers from abroad. Not less than 65k per transfer/s The bank statement can be obtained up to 7 days prior to application for extension. I prefer to obtain it day prior. The transfers need to be coded indicting transfered from abroad
  4. Skip obtaining reentry at immigration officie.. Grab it at airport. Provide nothing other than passport and 200b service fee. Includes photo.
  5. No problem for walk in. This works for me. Don't arrive super early as many recommend. Arrive just prior to lunch break (12pm) and obtain queue ticket. Then go and do any photocopying, banking etc. At 1pm you don't que up in the long line as you have a ticket. Stand to left of entry door and you do in first. Then of course wait for your #. Don't waste time then trying to get a reentry permit. You can obtain that at airport on day of departure.
  6. What's that mean? Are you applying for a Non O retirement e-Visa in June? If so you require 800k in a bank. Once in Thailand you will receive a 90 day stamp. Change from savings account to FD account if you wish. You don't have to. After funds have been in the account for 2 months you can apply for 12 month extension. You will not have a retirement visa. You will have a "permission of stay" Which you can extend ongoing, provided financial requirements are met.
  7. @JustinCredible I'm very naive regarding what UK refer to as "pensions" and as a result know, nothing re tax. In Oz we have "old age pension" That's means tested. I along with many get nothing. We have superannuation and that's basically a shares portfolio. Anyway I see your issue. Many on retirement extensions use money in bank method. It's an option.
  8. I haven't seen a report. @Tod Daniels may have up to date reports. Thinking it will be similar to previously. Perhaps a service charge.
  9. Answered in post edit above. Provide a TM30. Explain that you are still looking to lease somewhere. You could provide hand drawn map of TM30 hotel. Only need to be to nearest main intersection. Not the whole route.
  10. You could apply for Non Of retirement with minimum 15 days remaining on permission of stay. Can apply up to 45 days early at CW and up to 30 early at Jomtien. Note: Jomtien may/will want to see the 800k seasoned for 2 months. That's a fake requirement. CW will go by the actual rule, that being 800k in bank on day of application. You will need a TM30. If lease is requested explain you are still looking for digs. Be aware that your first extension will need to be at same immigration office as where you obtain the Non Of. You require form TM87 EDIT: @StayinThailand2much I added extra info
  11. OP, didn't mention FD account. For savings a/c he would need 12 month bank statement for both money in bank method and for income method
  12. Only difference is for ongoing extensions you show 12 month of bank statements. For first one bank book should be sufficient or you could obtain 3 month statement. Up to 30 days prior to expiry. 45 at some offices Which immigration office. Most processed on the spot Either. I prefer the airport since I deal with CW. Smaller office then easy to obtain there
  13. Exactly. This is an option "down the track" for the OP as he will not be able to show the 12 monthly transfers. Unrelated however OP, I'm currently changing from money in bank (retirement) to income method. That means for this year I run the two options in tandem. That's separate to initial Non O + extension for the OP. He will use money in bank method.
  14. @KannikaP here is thread. Note post from ubonjoe stating joint account not possible for marriage. https://aseannow.com/topic/1192029-extension-of-visa-using-a-joint-bank-account/ Off Topic: ubonjoe passing think was May 3 2023 ? R.I.P top bloke
  15. Generally no. Some immigration offices allow it however the financial requirements are doubled. Best to have Thai bank account in applicants name only. BTW: If married then wife name can be "silent signatory" on the account. The account owner shows as husband only however she can use the account.
  16. OP, I don't understand your thread at all. While in the UK you can apply for a Non O retirement OR Non O marriage. Since you are married to a Thai national why not obtain that. You would need to show 400k in a bank account. When you enter Thailand you will receive a 90 day stamp. After two months with funds having been in the Thai bank account in your name only you apply for a 12 month extension. After that is granted you can use the funds. 12 months later for next extension you need show 400k in the bank seasoned for 2 months prior to application for extension. Of course you can obtain a Non O retirement (e-Visa) instead of the Non O marriage. Has much more onerous financials in sense funds are maintained in the bank. I assume that you have a Thai bank account in your name only. If not you can open one after you enter Thailand given you will have a Non O . The income method is another discussion. You will need to use money in bank method for your first extension.
  17. Best to outline detail of planned border bounce. Meaning from where to which crossing.
  18. Agree with all the posts above. Paying for excess weight as much as airline permits is good option as mentioned above. Over time. Also cut what you want to bring. I mean books?
  19. What "guy" You applied for an extension. Were given an under consideration period. Returned for final stamp. What is your thread actually asking. Naive at best.
  20. What does that mean? Do you currently have a valid Non O based on marriage OR do you have an extension based on marriage? You don't convert to "Retirement Visa" Having UK pp means you cannot obtain income letter from embassy. That means to use income method you need to show 12 months of transfers. Your OP is not clear. State exactly current situation and ongoing plan for best advice. BTW: the financial requirements for extensions based on marriage are very low bar compared to extension based on retirement.
  21. No. You were given an under consideration period. This means that basically your application is approved. The paperwork has a final check and you may receive a home visit. You return to immigration on date indicated and receive final stamp. You can even have someone attend on your behalf.
  22. With appointment slot 1pm there is often a wait. Not so with eg morning time slots. They are seen bang on time. For the 1pm appointment the io does a bit of a clean up from the morning and then the gears start rolling. Can involve shortish wait
  23. Good excuse for mini holiday/break. Here is thread pointing out some offices doing a two week under consideration period for extension from DTV . https://aseannow.com/topic/1351180-some-dtv-extensions-in-bangkok-getting-2-week-under-consideration-stamp/
