Extend stay after retirement visa expires
DrJack54 replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Extensions based on retirement strictly speaking do not require rental agreement. A TM30 indicates your address. A TM47 also shows address. Given your particular situation only immigration office can advise on what's required. You state..."The owner is an ex gf... not like new gf.." Thinking you need sort out your situation yourself. Good luck. -
Extend stay after retirement visa expires
DrJack54 replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Think that's been made clear. The io wants rental contract (for some reason) and the owner (for some reason) is not prepared to provide rental agreement. Perhaps not even a TM30. -

I can only guess at reasons. The owner perhaps concerned with taxes or some such. Ask the owner to provide TM30. Not familiar with your immigration office area. Perhaps consider other accommodation that is prepared to provide what immigration require. -

Perhaps discuss with owner of where you stay possibility of "non binding" rental agreement. An agent or even real estate person could assist. -
She can "piggyback" on husbands extension as his dependant. She would need to enter Thailand with Non O status. Immigration is correct. Don't even understand why that was done. An eVisa for Thailand is applied for from outside of Thailand. Currently all visas to Thailand in the region are eVisa. Which immigration office are they dealing with? Some points on "piggyback" covered here. https://aseannow.com/topic/1308150-non-imm-o-retirement-options-for-spouse/

Extend stay after retirement visa expires
DrJack54 replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You should not require a rental agreement. Think your immigration officer being inflexible. You could do a TM30. So how did you get your extension 12 months ago without rental agreement. Putting aside trip to Holland your priority is to obtain 12 month extension prior to April 19. You can apply for extended up to 30 days prior to expiry. Obtain that and also reentry permit to facilitate your trip out of Thailand and reentry to Thailand. -
Extend stay after retirement visa expires
DrJack54 replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You cannot extend your permission of stay by one month. Your only option is to extend by 12 months. From your other post regards rental agreement. You should be able to supply immigration with something for proof of address. Which immigration office? What is your address issue? Do not exit Thailand to obtain 60 day visa exempt entry just prior to expiry of current permission. You would need to start whole process over. New Non O etc. Don't do that. Why are you looking for 30 day extension? Passport country? -

Extend stay after retirement visa expires
DrJack54 replied to Sjoerd's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
You are not extending your visa. That's gone. You would be extending your current permission of stay. The expiry of that permission is indicated in your passport stamp. Current permission of stay. If you don't extend that prior to expiry you will be on overstay. Indicate current situation re financials compliance etc for advice When does current stamp expire -

Why not renew you permission of stay. Meaning your current permission of stay (extension). If it's down to money consider an agent. Alternatively look into DTV. When you say Do you have one year visa. Surely have extension from a Non O Edit: just read your previous post March 2024. https://aseannow.com/topic/1323280-3-months-non-o-extend-1-year-as-retirement-with-some-problems/ You either renew your permission of stay based on retirement or leave.. I see you have country that provides income letter. Your options are simple.. What are you asking? -
Transfer of visa stamp to new passport
DrJack54 replied to DickThrust's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Just noticed that you used an agent. If agent also covered the financials, suggest you not do transfer at this time. Wait till time for next extension. If agent is handy run your plan past him. As I posted earlier....I did stamp transfer at CW last year. To my surprise they wanted copy of my bank book and update. That was a new curve ball. -

Trolling post removed -
Unless your embassy can provide "income letter" you would use 800k in bank account method. So it's not AND it's OR. Which country is your passport Edit: OP, seems from other threads you have UK pp. You will use money in bank method. For extension retirement you require 800k in Thai bank account in your name only seasoned 2 months prior to application for extension and 3 months after application not below 800k. In other months can be as low as 400k

Transfer of visa stamp to new passport
DrJack54 replied to DickThrust's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I asked your immigration office as recently I did transfer stamps at CW. To my surprise they wanted my bankbook to check financial compliance to my extension retirement using money in bank method. Previously never required. -

Exactly what I would have done FWIW. I once ran into guy at CW doing report in person. Wouldn't believe it his online was approved during his trip to CW -
Online 90 day check during weekends
DrJack54 replied to Joe32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Basically equivalent to using an agent. As Tod Daniels points out in another thread..... "You can slog on over to Bumrungrad Hospital 10th floor business center, they'll do a 90 day report for you for 650 baht and then you pick up your passport from them a few days later" So two trips and 650b. Would suggest most would opt for same day service at CW. Esp if can obtain an appointment. -
OP....you were advised more than 5 months ago this from Tod Daniels... "AFAIK there is no consulate that will issue a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa based on raising thai child whether you have the 400K baht banked and the legal parental rights decree or not. All the consulates will do is sell single entry" Also this from myself ..... "Read again. Non O multi entry for Thai child not available..". Then 5 months later you post.... "I was not able to get the multi entry in Manila in the end." Time to look at alternatives, especially as you mentioned wife uncooperative.

Transfer of visa stamp to new passport
DrJack54 replied to DickThrust's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. Which immigration office? At some point notify your bank. Can do that when dealing with teller. Some folk update their pp number on TDL. I don't bother. -
It's not clear where the OP is located. Has oscillated between exit by land or air. Most recent statement... "I'd think it better, easier and safer to fly out with both my old and new passports" Exiting via airport has zero issue regarding entry stamp in old pp. Suggest he exits via air and take mini holiday out of Thailand (suggested Saigon) as he is familiar with that country. Return via air visa exempt. If worried about history in Thailand can use agent for "safe entry" mentioned earlier.

Online 90 day check during weekends
DrJack54 replied to Joe32's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
How does someone do a TM47 without going in person if their office is CW and online was rejected Yes they can use agent. That's an option. I was quoting a guy that deals with CW. -
The rejection from online reporting has the standard statement of "report in person..." I believe if someone makes the report via mail there won't be a rejection. EDIT: One time I did the online 15 days prior to due date and also did a TM47 via mail. Sure enough that time the online was approved. Some time later I received the return mail with hand written "report already approved" This was prior to immigration trying to sync TM30 with online reporting. Disaster springs to mind.
