One Year Extension / new passport timing
DrJack54 replied to Burgo1979's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
As soon as you obtain upcoming extension apply for passport renewal. Ceases to amaze me why folk try and milk out pp. I suggest if less than 12 months validity renew -
When is my 90 day report due?
DrJack54 replied to pub2022's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=1666 Read point 5 in attached link regarding very first 90 report after application for extension. For subsequent extensions the reporting has nothing to do with extension. However some immigration offices start the 90 count again when applying for extension. If that's the case the io should indicate that... Usually by placing report due date in passport. -

Report retirement extension CW - bank method
DrJack54 replied to cormanr7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have read of others but not common. CW is generally the gold standard but bit silly on this one. The io hardly glances at it. As pointed out ...the map is not entire route to immigration office but just from residence to nearest main intersection. Google co ordinates seems more sensible. -
Be aware that to enter Thailand after the funeral and flying without visa or reentry permit the airline at departure may require onward flight. BTW here is short thread listing docs from visa exempt to Non O Note you need to apply for the Non O with min 15 days remaining on permission of stay and 21 at some offices eg CM. https://aseannow.com/topic/1291070-visa-exempt-to-non-o-marriage-visa-conversion-at-cw-requirements/
-
Given that info, I would be inclined to just exit Thailand. Don't worry about reentry permit and return visa exempt. Basically meaning start over. You will receive a new 60 day stamp. That provides plenty of time to obtain the Non O marriage
-
When is funeral and how long after the funeral do you want to stay in Thailand.
-
From visa exempt to Non O you use TM87. To exit Thailand and return you require a reentry permit. You don't "hold the visa".... Obtaining the Non O simply gives you a 90 day stamp. The reentry permit allows you to reenter Thailand during that permission of stay.
-
You can do both. From visa exempt entry you can obtain 60 day extension to visit family. You can obtain a Non O that obviously has other requirements such as financials etc. Assume that you have Thai bank account in your name only? How many days remaining on current permission of stay?

Report retirement extension CW - bank method
DrJack54 replied to cormanr7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Think you will find that in general Immigration offices will not accept bank statements that can be downloaded from eg banking app. They require statements provides by bank with the stamps etc -
Report retirement extension CW - bank method
DrJack54 replied to cormanr7's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
CW in recent years has shown a shift towards requiring 12 month bank statements. For those with a dedicated bank account for immigration it can be as simple as a month or two of no transactions. They almost looking for excuse. For those using day to day account immigration can claim consolidated transactions. By all means folk can continue with the photocopies of bankbook etc. For the sake of 200b bank statement I recommend that good option moving forward. I obtain mine day prior to application. First many years bank book only. -
TM30 Self Reporting - system's stumped me.
DrJack54 replied to BusyB's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Do nothing. No consequences She should know how to provide a TM30 and it's a joke she brushed you off. Tip for folks in general. Prior to renting somewhere make sure a TM30 will be filed. -
CW may transfer stamps. However generally it's done where the stamps were issued. TM6 not required rather TM30 required. The "certificate from embassy" is short statement that was provided along with the new pp. Basically directing Thai immigration to transfer stamps. Some embassies no longer provide that. Skip it.
-
Stamps should be transferred at immigration office where they were issued. There is no appointment for transfer of stamps at CW. Here is form for stamp transfer to new passport. At bottom is listed required docs. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=995063&key=4ad28e64c063398b61d0a726240743c6 Note: Not listed is CW new requirement to provide photocopies of bank book back to last extension+ updated bb for those on extensions such as retirement.

Here is form CW use. A TM30 sufficient. A lease if you have one. A TM47 for that immigration office if you have one. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439173 Yes valid for 30 days. Embassy letter longer however not an option. My understanding is currently not an issue with appointments. BSR bikes or other agent could obtain slot for TDL appointment. I would obtain the COR first. It should take 5-7 days from CW to be mailed to you. If you are doing both car + bike the land office will accept one original and photocopy. For appointment advice have read of this https://www.motorist.co.th/en/article/2580/how-to-book-a-driver-s-licence-appointment-through-dlt-smart-queue-2025-update

CW does ask for hand drawn map. It does not need to be entire route from condo to immigration. Just from condo to main intersection. They are not too fussy about the map. You should not require a witness at CW. Also you might find this thread useful for extension requirements. Clear OP. https://aseannow.com/topic/1253640-marriage-extension/#elControls_17249171_menu
