  1. Negative Posts from OP removed. Continue and thread closed
  2. That can be luck of the draw. The OP has a Visa so onward flight is not required.
  3. Going slightly past thread... Be aware that your 90 day report clock starts from date you obtain extension.
  4. Yes Many do that and it's a good option. Since you have the Non O you can just transfer the 800k into Thai bank account. GF has nothing to do with it. If you need to open bank account that's possible as you have Non O entry. Bank may require a "certificate of residence" I keep typing same information and for some reason there is confusion. There is NO Multi Entry extension. There is a 12 month extension of your permission of stay. If you wish to exit and reenter Thailand during that permission of stay you need to buy a reentry permit. Simple. That's just confused gobble de gook
  5. OP, You can enter Thailand visa exempt and receive a 60 day stamp. Be aware that airline at departure may ask for an onward/return flight. My guess is that with the short visit (eg 40 days) you will have a return ticket. Note: Jetstar almost always require flight out of Thailand..
  6. @ThaiVisaCentre do any agents assist with obtaining extensions where travel to immigration not possible due to age, mobility etc
  7. No clarification is required.. This was @Thingamabob FIRST post in the thread....... "In happier times. a long time ago, immigration officials, if requested, would visit the homes of sick and disabled foreigners for the purpose of granting extensions of stay etc" It was clear to him and everyone else that this thread is about options for extensions etc when one becomes frail and perhaps even bedridden. Your tangent regarding home visits for under consideration period is nothing to do with the thread. Not even remotely. You incorrectly jumped onto term "home visit"
  8. OP, no offense however this has all been covered in your previous thread here: https://aseannow.com/topic/1349037-o-a-multi-entry-visa-from-uk-insurance-and-bank-balance-oddities/ Apart from answering questions regarding onward flight.... the process of obtaining the 12 month extension and financial requirements was outlined.
  9. With a visa (single entry Non O) you will not be asked for return/onward flight by airline at departure or immigration upon entry to Thailand. Assume it's eVisa. Make sure you print out hard copy. Show that to airline staff at check in and immigration upon arrival at passport control. BTW: You will enter on the Non O and be given a 90 day permission of stay stamp. In the last 30 days of that stamp you will obtain a 12 month extension. It's NOT a Visa. In order to exit and reenter Thailand you will purchase a reentry permit. Available as Single reentry 1000b OR Multiple reentry 3800b The reentry permit can be obtained at local immigration office or airport on departure. Aside: do you have a Thai bank account in your name only?
  10. I have read reports advising that they were told to obtain flight to Thailand however subsequently been allowed to enter. Reports of having to stay 2 nights. Have not read a report of refusal to enter Thailand at Nong Khai after staying couple of nights. ".....no exceptions you are now forced to go to the airport ...." Nup
  11. Their Facebook link doesn't seem to be working. Give this a try.... https://www.facebook.com/share/1V4UMpb27x/ Scroll down to "safe airport entry services"
  12. The guy @Thingamabob you replied to stated the following..... "In happier times. a long time ago, immigration officials, if requested, would visit the homes of sick and disabled foreigners for the purpose of granting extensions of stay etc." Throughout the thread he and others are addressing the thread, not home visits regarding under consideration marriage extensions.
  13. Wife needs to attend for changing from marriage to Retirement is explained in this attached thread. Also the thread has links for that change general advice....
  14. I'm not dealing with any advice in this thread or other thread from OP. https://aseannow.com/topic/1352340-re-entry-visa/ Seems to be asking hypothetical questions.
  15. You mention that your friend can start transfers Aug. Extension due Feb so he could show ~ 6 transfers. Should be sufficient. No doubt there will be reports well prior to your friends renewal. Worst case scenario for others would be to border bounce and start over with visa exempt entry. Not being rude to your friend however there will be many with income method (letter) that have not followed the actual requirements. For example used irregular much bigger transfers every eg 3 months etc. Canadians just like other countries citizens that do not provide embassy letter can still use income method. Don't think immigration can help with advice at this point as would not be aware of any "amnesty rules" even if there will be any.
  16. That won't be an issue. Ongoing do you plan to use money in bank or income method for extensions. BTW: For your first extension based on retirement having switched from based on marriage your wife will need to attend immigration with you. For subsequent extensions (retirement) she is not required.
  17. Will be interesting time for some Canadian guys using letter One would guess some have done things differently than the 65k monthly transfers. Perhaps transferring as required etc. Stay tuned.
  18. A Non O-A visa is a multi entry visa that is valid for one year from date of issue. During it's validity, every time you enter Thailand you are stamped in for 12 months. So ...if you exit and reenter just prior to expiry you receive another 12 month stamp. Hence you can obtain 2 years stay out of the visa. After which you would either obtain a new Non O-A OR start obtaining extensions. Note: Insurance required. A Non O retirement is a single entry Visa. When you enter Thailand the visa is "used" and you are given a 90 day stamp. In the last 30 days of that stamp you apply for 12 months extension. This has financial requirements. Note: Insurance not required. For extensions from a Non O-A and a Non O (retirement) the financials are exactly the same however the extensions from the Non O-A require insurance. Guys with a Non O-A and able to base their extension on marriage then Insurance is not required. Note: The very first extension from a Non O-A would have to be based on retirement. Note non O-A can only be obtained in own country or country where you have resident status. Non O retirement can be obtained at most places outside of Thailand. Previously at consulate/embassies and now using eVisa. The Non O-A previously was a ripper Visa when it had no insurance requirement. Especially for those that returned home every couple of years and also did not wish to have funds sitting in a Thai bank. Not surprising that many folk with a Non O-A stamp and needing extensions based on retirement decided to exit Thailand at some point without reentry permit to Kill Off the Non O-A. Reenter Thailand and obtain a Non O retirement reason being no insurance requirement. Note: Also Non O-A application has some requirements that Non O does not such as Criminal background report, medical, etc. Outlined here. https://www.mfa.go.th/en/page/non-immigrant-visa-o-a?menu=5e1ff71bc4281a00c812e8e2
  19. Didn't read the thread however guys on extensions marriage should be aware that if wife passes then your current permission of stay (should) remain valid till expiry. In the event of divorce your permission of stay is done.
  20. ETA won't happen in near future.
  21. What "home visit" are you referring to. Surely not home visit that some immigration offices do during under consideration. The thread is about "frail/infirm" folk need to attend immigration in person for annual extensions
  22. Yes. Many companies such as Siam Legal and another posted earlier outline process and some advantages of Non O marriage. https://www.siam-legal.com/thailand-visa/Thailand-Marriage-Visa.php
  23. Depends on immigration office. For example in attached thread some offices do home visit every year https://aseannow.com/topic/1318003-io-home-visits/
  24. If you wish to post link to agent post link access. https://thaivisaexpert.com/is-it-possible-to-work-on-a-marriage-visa/#:~:text=While
  25. Stop being pedantic. Of course he would need to obtain a work permit. The point is he cannot obtain a work permit with an extension based on retirement. He can with extension based on marriage
