  1. OP...my first post expired for edit. Going into start 2023 you could apply for tourist visa eg Vientiane and obtain 60 + 30 extension then follow up with your visa exempt entries with extensions
  2. I cannot tell you that. Ubonjoe will no doubt answer that question at some point. I am aware that years ago you could obtain extension exactly as you did with extention expiry till expiry of passport. Then if you obtained pp renewal the immigration office would change the untill date to give you the full 12 months. Has not been the case for some time.
  3. And your point? For many a trip to immigration to do a 90 day report in person can take a day including travel time. Yes there is mail option.
  4. You applied with existing pp. Presenting a new passport during under consideration period would be pointless. Don't understand why you are surprised.
  5. Good advice. This is one topic that has had changing requirements. This is link for application. Note: regarding reason just tick car licence. https://aseannow.com/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=439173 Alternatively some choose to use agent to open bank account. Plenty in Pattaya. Added note: Kasikorn bank does not require residence certificate if applicant has a non O extensions.
  6. A non O-A can only be obtained in country where you have permanent resident status or your home country. You can obtain a non O marriage or a ME non O marriage at Saigon consulate.
  7. Fact is funds can be asked to be shown and airline requiring onward flight is often required. Your personal experience is somewhat irrelevant as there are many reports of onward flight being required. Just to be clear for others your earlier post implying ATM card or Bank book can cover the funds requirement is incorrect.
  8. A Thai bank account or ATM card won't be of any use if ask to show funds. Also the main part of his post is concerning onward flight. Often required by airline
  9. Read report by @AKJeff above. seems pretty first hand to me. Or Jomtien requiring folk to return 90 days after obtaining extension. OR the various offices that require funds in bank for 3 months prior to extension rather than the correct 2 months. etc etc.
  10. A common couple of reasons for needing a residence certificate is to open bank account or obtain Thai diving license. CW requires the 90 day report for residence certificate however most places do no. As mentioned your embassy may provide equivalent. An agent can take care of bank account without certificate however cannot assist with residence certificate for divers license (in Bangkok)
  11. Indeed. We are all at immigration beckon call. The office you refer to are wrong. I seem to recall ubonjoe post a link to the change in rules regarding TM30. Of course even if you had print out in Thai they would probably still insist on it. Morons.
  12. Yes this is a CW thing. You must be doing 90 day reports to CW immigration in order to obtain a residence certificate. An alternative is to obtain equivalent from your embassy is they provide that. You would need to check if transport office if that's acceptable. Ask BSR bikes or Fatboy's and they will advise. Edit: just noticed you mentioned embassy.
  13. If it wasn't for the insurance I would also do that as I return to visit Oz every year or so. I keep the 800k baht in Thai bank and am aware of the opportunity cost of doing that. If you decide to go down the non O-A route just be aware of the changes to insurance requirement coming Sept 1.
  14. The non O-A is a multi entry visa valid for 12 months. Each entry in that period you are stamped in for 12 months. If exit and reenter just prior to expiry you are given 12 month permission of stay. So yes effectively 2 years from one non O-A Be aware that in the "second year" you would need to buy a reentry permit if wanted to exit and reenter Thailand. Without the insurance requirement this is a ripper visa especially for those that return to home country every couple of years and can obtain new non O-A.
  15. By renew, assume you mean annual extensions. Some folk do not obtain extensions to a non O-A. Rather they obtain a new non O-A in their own country every 2 years. The main reason for this is they do not wish to keel money in a Thai bank. If you are after annual extensions that would be best done having a non O retirement as insurance is not a requirement
  16. While there is no limit on visa exempt entry via air if you were just to exit Thailand and reenter via air ongoing then immigration would eventually have an issue. More so if the time spent out of Thailand is very short.
  17. Why would you need to "re-register" your address. Assume you mean file TM30. That would not be required if returning on same visa or reentry permit. TM6 was temporarily suspended on July 2. It would not be required for 90 day report etc.
  18. Obtaining non O retirement in your country will require insurance with 90 day cover. I suggest you look at option of enter Thailand visa exempt or tourist visa and obtain the non O retirement in Thailand. The other comments you point out about entry requirements are correct. Have some proof of vaccination (even if not required);
  19. Also ask her to do nothing. Meaning no new TM30. You have a TM30 that will cover you for extension.
  20. Immigration won't know that you changed rooms. Ask hotel if they file a new TM30. Doubt it.
  21. You can obtain one 30 day extension per entry from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry.
  22. You obtained a 30 day extension. Normally you would apply for a covid extension couple of weeks prior to expiry of your permission of stay. Be aware that some immigration offices were starting the 60 days from day of application for the first covid extension. In that situation it would be best to apply as late as possible. If you change address you would need to obtain a new TM30. You can only obtain an extension at the immigration office where you are staying..
  23. Your starting date is July 22, 2022 so that means that 90 days later would be October 19, 2022
