How did you enter Thailand meaning visa exempt, tourist visa etc. When does your current permission of stay end. Are you 50+ years old.

You can obtain non O marriage or retirement from a visa exempt or tourist visa entry. OP you state... "Visa-exempt stay, get 30 days, and before that expires convert to a Non-Imm O visa based on marriage". Keep in mind you need to apply for non O with 15+ days remaining on your visa exempt entry. 21 days at some places eg CM. You could obtain 30 day extension to provide extra time. Need 400k in Thai bank account on day you apply for non O

Thinking some posts above above regarding access to existing and future rail is good advice. Seriously you have ZERO issue. On an aside, DMK has history of over zealous io at the time you had an issue. Relax and fly to thailand. My guess is you will enter at BKK airport. You will have zero problem.

You can enter thailand no issue. You can enter visa exempt or obtain tourist visa.

Choose the second. That option is a single entry tourist visa. SETV. Gives a 60 day stamp and can be extended by 30 days. The STV is a special tourist visa and has several requirements.

@Dogbarker The issue is with the airline. To give you a boarding pass some will insist that you have an onward flight. Upon arrival immigration at pp control almost certainly not ask for onward flight and for that matter not require you to show adequate funds..

Think you will find it's more the airline. I fly Jetstar and AirAsia both low cost airlines. Almost certainly would be asked for onward flight if flying visa exempt.

You buy an onward flight day or 2 prior to flight. It's a real flight but not confirmed payment. It works and there is a current thread on AseanNow about that. The cost of the ticket is approx $15usd. In my previous post where I suggested if you don't have an onward flight and have issue with airline ...step away from counter and book a REAL flight. Example Bangkok to Saigon. Currently approx 1500baht. Only one person's opinion I would buy "onward flight" from one of the companies on the net.

Several reports of onward flight not being asked for. One was also from someone that did require an onward flight as requested by airline. You could try flying without onward flight and if there was issue with airline step away and book cheapest onward flight. Obviously you would require internet. You could also Google "onward flights" and buy a rent a ticket.

Not everyone is handy to immigration. For some it's the better part of a day. I don't see it as "so easy". For TDL you need a residence certificate. That in itself can be a 2 week process as per Bangkok where it is mailed out. Two years later repeat for 5 yr license. You would think that it could be far more streamlined. The requirement for residence certificate to open bank account for those folk on extensions and doing 90 day reports etc is ridiculous.

Many have ticked second box. No need to write anything. Good idea to wait till date you mentioned. Keep in mind if rejected plan B would be border bounce for visa exempt entry. Then with extension gives you 60 days. Of course preferred option is a CE.
